    Mikado Saloon Hair Gloss

Mmmm. I think this is my favourite leather scent that I have ever smelled. That vanilla is amazing, and makes me really enjoy the leather, which is sometimes iffy for me, but smells great in this. I get a bit of black musk too, which I love, but I don't really smell any ambergris. Love this. Dark sexy vanilla goodness!

She Perishes That She May Live

Lovely and resinous and spicy. Sweet. Nice. It's not blowing me away though. I have other spicy resin blends that I like more, so I won't need to track more of this down. Glad to have tried it though!

    Pteropus Leucopterus

Interesting! Much more herbal than I would have imagined. The sage is very prominent, with bone dry patchouli and sandalwood. Not really getting the resins. It's pleasant, but not really my type of scent.
  4. Whoa leather! A lotta lotta leather. It's doing that whole chemically thing on me that I really don't like. I can't smell anything else. This is not going to be for me! Even if the dry down were amazing, I would never be able to get past this wet stage. I imagine this would be great on the right person though, and especially a man.

    Pumpkin Queen

I have learned the Lab's pumpkin note is not for me, but when someone sends you a thoughtful tester of Pumpkin Queen, you test it!! This is quite nice, though not me. Warm pumpkin and spice. Glad to have tried it, also glad I don't have to hunt down more!

    Squirting Cucumber

There's a cucumber note in Tea Time in Roswell that was really strong on me. I didn't care for it. I think that's what I was expecting out of this, but that's not what I get. This has a bitterness to it that comes from something other than cucumber. I don't care for it either, but I had to try it anyway!

    Loup Garou

Smells like Vick's to me. Soothing. I can only see wanting to wear it if I was sick though, not as a perfume. Glad to have tried it!

    What's the best coconut blend?

I also want to add So Below to my growing list of all-things-coconut. I never would have thought the coconut in it would stand up to those other notes, but it does, and it's amazing. It has a similar feel to The Raptures and Roses of Vice on me, actually.

    So Below

I adore all of these notes except copal, which I like but don't love, but still, excited to see how these all combine on me! Wet: Wow, that patch note is gnarly, but in a fabulous way. And that coconut! The patch/coconut combo in Goblin did NOT work for me, but this really is. It's warm and sexy. Makes me think of a woman in a sexy dress, head thrown back in a throaty laugh. No clue why that image pops into my head, but it does. Dry: Wow how did I miss getting my hands on some of this for so long? That coconut! It's gorgeous. I love love love this. I need more. As if the coconut holds up in that mix of notes...I am stunned in the best way possible. This is stunning.

    Recalcitrant Dragon

Wet: This opens with a blast of what I can only describe as, "green". That quickly fades on my skin, leaving the most amazing vanilla. Wow, this is good on me! Not what I expected. Vanilla and sandalwood, feminine, so pretty! Hints of tobacco, but it hasn't amped up and stomped all over like it usually does on my skin. Dry: OMG THAT VANILLA NOTE!! It's sugary and musky and I love it. I agree with Dementia's review though - there is a leaf note in here to my nose. I like it. It makes it different from the other vanilla's I have. This just jumped onto my DISO list!

    Disrespect for Established Authority

Leather is so iffy on me, but usually I can do black leather, so I took a risk and had my fairy nab me two bottles of this, based on that blackened vanilla, which I adore. Wet: This is a lot of leather on me. It's not unpleasant, but it's not the familiar black leather note I was expecting, the one I love in Whip. It's at least not doing that gross chemically thing on me, which is great. It's quite nice, but not AMAZING on me, like I expected it to be. I do think it will age incredibly well. Dry: Wow. It's not terribly strong, it stays close to the skin, but the dry down of that vanilla and hints of blonde tobacco.....just wow. Beautiful. It takes it a long time to get there though. I am not sure I will need to keep both bottles, but I have high hopes for aging one of them, for sure.

    What's the best coconut blend?

Harigata II - totally underrated, I never hear anyone talk about it.

    'Pink' scents

Serving Fish is the "Pinkest" smell I own, with Pickman Gallery's Love a close second.

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

    1. How about Shattered? A blend of white champagne notes, grapefruit, lotus, slivered mint and crystalline aquatic blooms 2. Maybe some Dormouse - A dizzying eddy of four teas brushed with light herbs and a breath of peony or Soirs d'Automne from Pretty Indulgent lily, tulip and rose shimmering in the moonlight, brushed by a quiet autumn breeze. 3. That's a tough one. Akuma? blood orange, neroli, and raspberry. 4. Even harder! Ginny, The Reaper of Vengeance Sharp tobacco flower and white cognac, a thin layer of smoke, and dusty black pepper pierced by the amber of her eyes. (I am not even sure why I think this'll be in the same vein....) 5. I don't think there's anything remotely similar to Morocco. But maybe you'd also like Lyonesse Golden vanilla and gilded musk, stargazer lily, white sandalwood, grey amber, elemi, orris root, ambergris and sea moss.

Hunting for the ultimate _____ blend

Or how about Harlot? Love that one. Somalian rose, Moroccan rose and Bulgar rose with a sultry dribble of cinnamon

    Lamia (Prototype)

Alright, so I purchased this bottle recently from the Lab's eBay. I assumed it was going to be Lamia v3, which I had tried and loved. Because of the whole Canada Post almost going on strike thing, Puddin held it for me, so I was a while getting it. During that time, I had the opportunity to pick up another bottle, this one labelled Lamia v3. Now that I have them both in my hot little hands, they are NOT the same oil. This one is just called Lamia Prototype. Wet: This smells similar to the released version (which v3 does not at all, to me). But this is....MORE. It's more intense. Lamia smells like a jungle to me. This smells like it even more. Orchid, coconut, that unique green vetiver note that is so different to me than regular vetiver. It's gorgeous. But so is Lamia. Dry: I think this has more orchid and is sweeter than the released. To my nose, it is the same collection of notes, just in different proportions. This has a lot less vetiver in it. It's so so pretty. Currently, I am testing this against v3, but I think I also need to test it against the released version.

    Lamia v3

Wet: This is so gorgeous. I got to try it at a friend's, and fell in love, and set out to look for some, and would you believe I actually found it?? So now that I have my very own bottle, I figured I had better review it. So I get gorgeous amber, and glowing sandalwood, like in L'Estate, but all of that is overlaid with the most beautiful warm spicy clove. And for once, the clove doesn't stomp all over everything, it melds beautifully with the other notes. I adore this. It smells absolutely nothing like the released version, to my nose. Dry: I adore this, and am so happy to have it finally! The clove is gorgeous and warm and soft, not overpowering, and that amber, musk and sandalwood combo - to die for! <3

    Harigata II

I am a coconut freak. Why was this not on my radar until now??? Wet: Ermagerd, yummy foodie coconut - like shredded dried coconut, sweetened a bit. The hazelnut just enhances the overall nuttiness of it. The anise is the faintest hint, and the amber sweetens it further and makes it smooth. Mmmmmmm. Dry: Yuuumm! The coconut and hazelnut are present in equal measures. This is a warm cozy coconut, like in baked goods, rather than a tropical beachy coconut. I like it a lot! It's really different and interesting. Another coconut win, I think!

    Sara Pezzini

Leather is so iffy on me. But I adore must, and honey, and I do like leather in some things, so giving it a go! Wet: Blarg! Pure chemically leather. It's settling quickly though, and I can smell the honey coming through. Still a lot of leather. Dry: Leather. Really really nice leather. Like, if you're a leather lover, get you some of this, asap. The musk and honey are subtle hints, but this is for sure a leather scent. It's kind of sexy, but it's just not me. I find very few leather scents I feel comfortable wearing, and I don't think this is one of them.

    Clytemnestra v3

Wet: Dark and fruity. I think I get some pomegranate, which worries me, because it doesn't do well on my skin in dry down. It's nice wet though. There are some heady dark florals in here, and this is totally fitting that "dark fruity floral" category that I love. Dry: I like this. Not sure if I love it, I will need to wear it a full day. It's much softer than I anticipated. A dark fruity floral, for sure. In the same vein as Lucille Sharpe on me, but lighter. Could be I didn't slather enough either. It's beautiful and sinister at the same time, and each time I sniff my wrist it actually grows on me. I can't identify the florals or fruits to save my life, it's so well blended. Very nice! Glad I tried it.

    Dolly Kei

Wet: OMG this is so good. Vanilla and tobacco and sandalwood - so so pretty. Praying it doesn't morph as it dries because this is perfection!! Dry: Didn't morph. It's so beautiful. I absolutely love it. It's in the same vein as Aradia on me, with the vanilla and tobacco and woods. I simply adore it and am so happy to have it.

    Nectar Hair Gloss

I love this. I find it hard to describe, maybe because I am not that familiar with some of the florals. But it's got an almost tropical vibe, sweet and heady, and I love it.

    Strawberry Moon Hair Gloss

Strawberry Moon 09 is one of the few strawberry scents that work on me - so excited to have some of the HG! It's really kind of boozey to me!! Like strawberry wine or something, mmmm. It settles though into the soft real strawberry scent I love. Just what I had hoped for, and doesn't go plastic on me like enveloped in silk does. So happy to have it!

    Saint Foutin de Varailles

Love all the notes in this, except wine, but I am hoping that doesn't ruin it! Wet: A blast of wine. But then the beeswax comes forward...this might be ok! The wine, Frank and the beeswax together create an almost chocolately quality. Interesting. Dry: I LIKE this! And it has WINE in it! That's unheard of. There's still this interesting cocoa sort of scent going on - must be the combo of notes giving that impression. It's rich, and sweet, without the wine smelling artificial like it usually does, not the Frank bullying the other notes. The beeswax is prominent and gorgeous. This needs a full day test, but I may want more!
