Wet: The Dragon's Blood, cinnamon and pepper are all very distinctive on me. The DB has an almost bubblegummy quality in this that I really don't care for. This smells a lot like Bazooka Joe gum - that weird spicy bubblegum combo. Dry: Still smells like Bazooka Joe. Not for me!

Wet: Mmm, sugary vanilla musk. Not getting much of the floral, but I'm ok with that, because this is way muskier and thus even better than I expected. I actually didn't think I would like it. But I am loving that pink musk note! It's sweet without being too sweet on me, and the musk really keeps it from being gourmand at all. Dry: I really really like this. Pink musk is similar to white musk on me, as it turns out, which I like. But this is combined with a vanilla sugar note that doesn't go burnt plastic on me, which is fantastic, and the result is something I am really loving. It's nowhere near as floral as I thought it would be, it just has the slightest edge of sweet pea on me. Lovely! So happy I scored this on Etsy.

Wet: Orange blossom...oh noes!! That's unexpected. Oh wait, it's not, it's dead leaves I am smelling. It does this same "bitter" thing on my skin when wet. Hoping the other notes sweeten it up! Where is the ambergris I was dying for??? Dry: This dries down beautifully!! My favourite dry leaves blend thus far. It's sweet, and warm and glowing. Hard to describe. I can't pick out the ambergris, which I am a little sad about, but it's beautiful. Cozy. I really like it. All the bitterness from the leaves has faded, but they are still very present. Lovely.

Wet: Tons of vetiver, which I like, but don't love. I know from experience it doesn't last on my skin though. Already it's burning off and I am getting some dark musk. Quite a light scent though, not what I was expecting! Dry: A nice, though light, dark musk scent. I think I need to retest this. I do like it, but either it just has no throw or lasting power (surprising for those notes) or I did not apply enough for a proper test. Slathered more on - same result. It's nice, but too light for me. Musky, sweet, a bit smoky, but otherwise nondescript.

Best BPAL for gym, workout, sports, exercise?

Today I randomly threw on Mattie Silks, because I hadn't worn it in a while. Turned out to be a great idea! The effervescence really buoyed me along while I ran! I also find the Lab's champagne note to have a nice "clean" effect. I smelled good even after I was dishustingly sweaty. -
I should get a back-up, and of Wulric too, as my sleep scents are the only ones I actually seem to come close to using up. If Anesthesia ever got discontinued I would be devastated. And I need more Wulric before the Carnaval goes dark.

I wanted to try this when it was released, but the violet scared me off. Someone frimped me some, so I shall try it after all. Wet: Whiffs of notes I love, like plum and Myrrh...plus violet going all powdery and drifting about. As I first start to inhale it, I love it, and as I finish inhaling, I hate it. Such a weird experience. Dry: In throw a can smell that amazing black plum note, which I adore. But nose to skin, it's all violet, and I just can't handle it. *sigh* why must I always amp the notes I like least?

I would guess that there is Jasmine in this, and maybe lotus? Both things I am not overly fond of. This is very sweet, a tad spicy, and makes me want to sneeze. I do like florals, but not these specific florals, and aquatics never work for me, so it is no surprise that this is a fail. I'll pass it on to someone else to try.

OMG this is good! Sweet, smoky, almost spicy, it's got it all going on. SEXY. Not as much red musk as I expected, which is ok, because all the other notes are fantastic. I really like this, and will enjoy wearing it a lot.

On really hot summer nights (like a few we've had recently) I find both Anesthesia and Envy to be life savers! They have been in heavy rotation for bedtime the past few weeks.

Sometimes sandalwood goes sour on me, sometimes it's gorgeous....here's hoping! Wet: Quite sour initially, but then hugely sweet rose amber amps way up. It's almost candy sweet now. Pretty. Hoping it settles a bit more. Dry: Sweet rose amber and warm dry sandalwood. I like it - not sure I love it. I think it needs further testing.

Wet: Cypress, then ginger. Interesting. Smells like a spicy forest. Dry: The fig comes out, which I adore. But it's still too woody for me. Try as I might, I like very few woodsy scents on me.

I just have a sample of this, not in a spray bottle, so I am just testing it on my skin. Oooh...that's nice. I was actually testing this so that I could say I tried it and give it away, thinking RR and the many other HG's I have had me covered for Patch....but with the honey, that is just so subtle and soft and nice! I think I have to track down at least a decant. ETA: Got a bottle, and now with it in my hair, it's even better. The honey is gorgeous and slightly floral. The patchouli is of the drier, woodier variety. Totally different from the patch in RR. I actually think I need to track down a bottle of this in perfume form now...

I love this. It's honey, but it's a unique kind of honey. I don't actually smell the Lab's cold/frost note, but it is different than any other honey note I have smelled, so there is SOMETHING there with it....hard to describe, just beautiful, and I will treasure my decant.

This is lovely. It's not what I was hoping for (coconut) but it is lovely (tiare). Very tropical and beachy feeling, mostly tiare and warm vanilla, with just whispers of tropical coconut. I do love it, and it does go with much of my coconutty summer collection, however I am still waiting for a truly COCONUT hair gloss.

The scent of a Cosmopolitan cocktail. Yep, that's a Cosmo alright! I love all of the Lab's fizzy blends, it just blows my mind that something can smell effervescent. I do have other fizzy scents that I like better than this one though, so thankfully I won't have to try to hunt down a bottle.

Blarg. I knew this wouldn't be for me, I don't care for cucumber or any veggie in a perfume. This smells like a cross between sun warmed veggies in the patch, and a salad. Yep, not for me. Will happily pass it on to someone who will hopefully love it better!

To me, this has the lilac of the released Eusapia. But it also has lemon. And tea? Like the released version. It's sort of similar to me. So like the released version, with black tea instead of white. Lemon instead of candle wax. I quite like it! But I don't love it, or like it quite as much as the released version.

Wow! That's so interesting. Made me wrinkle my nose at first, but I immediately went in for a second and third sniff. Pine (which is doing that whole menthol thing it does on me), something sweet. I think I can pick out basil. and I actually like the troll musk (which I suspect is black musk). Very interesting! But not for me.

Patchouli and orange. Smoky rich vetiver. Orange and I usually aren't friends. And as per usual, this turns to powdered orange cleaning product on me - with patchouli. It's actually not as terrible as it sounds. Still, not for me!

This was one of the first BPALs I tried, back in 2005. Smelled like stale cocoa puffs on me back then. My skin chemistry has changed, so I am giving it another go. Wet: Cocoa Puffs - though not stale. And with the milk. Makes me want cereal something fierce. Dry: Cocoa Puffs. Not stale still, just faint. This is dry cocoa puffs, sans milk. I like chocolate scents with a bit more complexity and depth, like Candy Butcher or El Dia de Los Reyes. Still, glad I retried this, it's much better on my skin now.

Cinnamon, and those ritual herbs that I associate with most of the conjure bag oils. They never work on my skin, but this one has failed by the smallest margin so far. Still not something I want to wear, but I can appreciate it for what it is. Apple cider with cinnamon, and some faint funky herbs.
-
Fruity! And sweet. Like fruit candy. I kind of agree with the Jolly Rancher comparison. It's nice, but then it turns plastic on my skin, as many of these types of scents do. I'll pass it on to someone who might love it better.

Wet: Sweet, candied pear, really strong. VERY SWEET! Like, screamingly so. Dry: Pear candy. Overly sweet and artificial smelling on me. Not my type of thing! I used to love fruity candy type smells, but more and more they just aren't doing it for me. If you love fruity candy smells though, this is for you. Objectively, it's fantastic.

Wet: Opium, which is immediately going soapy on me. Hoping it will recover as it warms on my skin. Dry: All the notes in this are lovely - the cognac and vanilla especially, with warm hints of sandalwood. But unfortunately the opium in this is still lending a weird soapy edge. It's dissipating, but I think by the time it burns off completely, the scent will be gone entirely as well, it's not lasting long on me. Not for me, I guess. Love the name though! And I can see this being amazing on someone with skin that doesn't turn opium to soap.
