I am not sure, but I think I hate hyssop. I love the other notes though, and the Mad Tea Party line in general, so I'm giving it a go anyway! Wet: Floral honey, with a touch of something almost minty. Not hating it so far. In fact, I kind of like it! Dry: This dries really light. It's mostly honey. A light, floral honey. I have other honey blends I like better (Tobacco Honey) but I am very glad to have gotten to try it.

Wet: Mmmmfg. Dragon's blood often smells like a spicy floral on me - it's doing that now, and with the addition of the honeyed vanilla, this is heady and sexy and gorgeous. Really strong too! A bit will do ya. Dry: This is so well blended I can't tell where the Dragon's Blood ends and the honeyed vanilla begins. This is heady and rich and a bit sexy. A bit floral, a bit spicy, sensual and sweet. I like it a lot and may need a bottle. I have a feeling this ages really well too.

As if I've never reviewed this! I have a cobalt bottle of it...lol. The Red Queen is an anomaly on me. I remember getting it because I had played The Red Queen in a production of Alice Through The Looking Glass, and so I just had to have it. Cherry rarely works on me. I dislike woods most of the time. And yet I love this, and it loves me back. Beautiful rich woods, slathered in sweet cherry/currant. I love it.

In the Ground Where all the Dead Lie

I wondered if this would be similar to Zombi, but it's really not. There's something a bit spicy to this - like a floral spiciness. This is also sweeter than Zombi. Its got a lot of wood to it - rosewood I am assuming. It's really nice. I usually relegate earth scents to bedtime, as I find them soothing, but hard to wear during the day, but I can almost see wearing this during the day/evening. Its sinister, in the very best possible way. I like it. -
Gah, the whole Crimson Peak line is killing me! I want everything! Wet: Oh that's good. Amber forward, as anything with amber is on me. The leather seems to be of the variety that I can wear, so that' pretty exciting. The clove is not amping to high heaven, it's just a warm spiciness added to the woods. This is so nice. I think it would actually smell fantastic on a guy too, very unisex. Dry: Once dried this is mostly leather on me, and some warm woods and spices. It's really nice, but I think I would prefer it on a man. This would be sooo sexy on a guy....

Wet: Much sweeter than I expected! A bit cologne like on me at first. The vetiver is present, the more vegetal less smoky variety. It blends so nicely with the patch. The green amber is really amping up and making this more feminine and wearable on me. I'm digging it. Dry: This is so hard to describe, but I like it. It smells green without smelling like plants. Vetiver and patchouli and an amber note I've never smelled before. Really different and nice.

Wet: Lots of Myrrh, some woodiness from the bois de rose, and sandalwood incense, which is going a bit powdery/soap on me. I am not getting any of the carnation or vanilla saffron at all, currently, and there's no similarity to Love's Philosophy (one of my all-time faves) on me. Dry: I was not expecting this to be a straight-up incense blend on me, as I generally amp carnation, but that's what it is. A really nice incense blend. I don't get the carnation or the vanilla saffron, just the sandalwood incense and Myrrh. It's a really nice incense blend, but I have others I like much more. This was only out of the mail a few days, so I will let it sit a few weeks and try again, but it may have to go into the swap pile.

The honey musk and vanilla chiffon made this an instant blind bottle for me, but I will admit to having some reservations about the magnolia. Still, so excited to try it! Wet: Oh wow, the honey musk is sooo good. Like, eyes rolling back in my head, good. This is beautiful. Softer than I imagined it would be. Sweet, but not cloying. It's romantic and feminine. Well blended, and smells more complex to me than it's 3 notes would suggest. Everything is balanced really well, but the honey musk is the star on me, for sure. Dry: I'm getting hints of vanilla now with that glorious honey musk. This is so lovely. The magnolia never really showed up on me, though there's a barely perceptible hint of floral to this. Love it, so glad I grabbed a blind bottle. This will likely be for special occasions in the Summer (like weddings, maybe!! )

Wet: Very sweet tea, with some almost floral notes. Feminine and pretty. Instant love! Hoping it doesn't morph much, this is beautiful. Tiny hints of spiciness are barely detectable. Dry: This is beautiful and simple. Tea, and spicy/floral Dragon's Blood. I love it. And the label art is gorgeous.

Wet: Peppery geranium! Which is sort of funny, as I had just been complaining I had never been able to pick out geranium in a scent, my skin had previously swallowed it. This is really interesting! The combo of the floral/spice notes are giving this a carnation-like feel. There's a sweetness there too, but overall this is so well blended I am having a hard time picking out notes. Pretty unisex so far - I like fairly feminine scents, but I don't feel as if I couldn't wear this. Actually, I am really digging this, and if it doesn't morph much as it dries, I think it'll be a real win. So different from anything else I have in my collection! Dry: This sweetens a bit more as it dries, and the sandalwood comes out and lends it some woodiness, but it remains mostly peppery geranium, and I really like it. This is a warm, woody, spicy floral and I am really happy I blind bottled this (not a single one of the decants I got of all of the rest of the Blue Carbuncles worked on me, I got lucky with this! )

I seldom go for a lunacy, as I haven't had a ton of success with them, but I adore every single note in this on its own, and I am a sucker for anything at could potentially even have a hint of coconut, so I went out on a limb and nabbed this. Wet: Creamy, sweet, more foodie than I thought it would be. Smells like a yummy pastry of some kind...it's kind of nutty (but not coconutty). Mmm, do I ever like this, but I am having a hard time picking out notes, it's so well blended. It's so warm and comforting, like wrapping up in a warm snuggly blanket. Dry: The same, doesn't seem to morph much. This scent is like being draped in a warm blanket made out of flaky pastry, sprinkled with nuts and drizzled with honey and cream. Sounds odd, I know, but it's awesome.

Wet: OMG vanilla cream, and it's soooo good. The sandalwood is there, for sure, keeping this grounded, but the vanilla cream is very much the star. Dry: Lovely. Vanilla cream and sandalwood. Simple, but beautiful. The cream isn't sour or plastic on me, it's perfect. Soft, sweet, creamy vanilla. The sandalwood is balanced with it beautifully, neither dominates on me. Can't pick out the lotus root at all, I think it's just blended into the general woodiness of the sandalwood. Those that are worried this is going to smell like lotus flower/bubblegum, I think you need not worry, I don't detect even a hint of lotus flower, this is for sure the root here. It's woody, not floral or bubblegummy. This is a beautiful scent and I will get a lot of wear out of it.

Wet: This smells like those chewable Flintstones vitamins on me so far - powdery, sweet, a bit candy-like. It's very soft and light, I thought the red musk would be more in your face. I think my skin was dry and ate it, so after adding a touch more I can now smell the individual notes better, and it's less powdery. The strawberry cream is prominent, not getting a lot of the cherry blossom. The red musk is present, but it's really all about creamy strawberry at this point. It's a very different strawberry than others I have smelled from the Lab, thus far. It's fading quickly though, not sure if this is because my skin just keeps soaking it up, or it's just a light scent. Dry: Pretty, soft, feminine. The red musk gives it a little bit of an edge. I'm struggling to figure out how I feel about this one. I took a gamble on it, knowing it wouldn't really be "me", but I thought the musk would make it wearable for me. I do like it, but I'm not LOVING it. I have a feeling when my decants arrive, there may be things I love more that I end up looking to swap this for. Overall, glad I tried it, but likely should have gone for a decant rather than a blind bottle. ETA: The bottle reads "The Instruction Manual" but in checking the Lab site to be sure, it's called "The Instructional Manual" there. Wonder what the actual intended name was?

A very kind friend allowed me to test her bottle of this, before she even had the chance to test it herself! This is vey benzoin dominant on me, with quite a bit of woody patch, and some faint smokiness. It's quite nice, but my tendency to amp benzoin, along with the honey, is making it very sweet on me. Only faint hints of the vanilla come through. This is nice on me, but not wowing me, so I doubt I will purchase more of it. Really grateful to have gotten to try it!

I was lucky enough to have a kind friend allow me to test her bottle, before she even had the chance to test it herself! Wet: Really dark chocolate, lots of clove. Quite smoky. Peppery! Makes my nose itch a bit. Not a lot of sweetness here. Dry: As it dries, the amber comes out and sweetens it. This, to my nose, is the same dark/bittersweet chocolate note that's in the Candy Butcher. Dark chocolate, hints of sweetness from the amber, spicy clove, and a bit of pepperiness. The smokiness has faded into the background. This is nice on me, but I have a ton of chocolate in my collection, so likely won't purchase any of this. Really grateful to have gotten to try it though!

This is beautiful! I was a bit worried about the lotus, but I needn't have been. It's lovely and subdued in this, not "bubblegummy" at all. This dries to a sweet, really creamy floral on me. If I didn't know better, I would think there was some sort of milk/cream note here, but it must just be a really creamy vanilla. So pretty and feminine. For once I am not amping the amber to high heaven, and I can smell the other notes. Just lovely! So glad I got a blind bottle.

This was a lovely frimp from a forum purchase. Caveat - Jasmine and I aren't friends, but I try everything I can! Wet: Really eathy, dirty (in a good way!) patchouli, and something very green. It doesn't really smell like sage to me...ok, maybe it does. Ya, I think that's sage I'm getting. There's really no sweetness to this at all, it's just earthy greenness. Dry: This is so freakin interesting. Somehow it manages to smell dirty and clean and the same time - dirty patch, and clean green notes. Hints of the iris are barely detectable. This is a different patchouli note than I've smelled in other blends, very very dry, almost dusty. I do quite like it, but I don't think I can see myself wearing it, and I will likely pass it on for someone else to try.

This was a lovely frimp from a decant circle Wet: Rich amber and woods. Sweet. Really nice. Dry: Beautiful warm amber. Sadly, I am learning that I amp amber like crazy, and everything containing it as a dominant note, ends up amber single note on me. Which isn't a bad thing at all, really, but I do already have quite a bit of amber in my collection. I am really glad to have gotten to try this though! I'll pass it on to the next person.

Wet: Rose, and...something. Interesting. Despair`s black fog, indeed. Hard to pinpoint the other notes, but this is very rosey, made sinister by a combination of the other notes. Violet and orange blossom are both not good on me, and I am not getting either distinctly here. Nor am I getting Myrrh. I have to conclude what I am smelling is either the carrot seed or opoponax, neither of which I am very familiar with. Interesting! Dry: Mostly rose, with hints of sweet resin (the opoponax, I`m guessing, because it`s not quite like Myrrh). It`s quite lovely, but I have so many rose blends at this point that I am not sure I have room for another is my collection. So happy got to try it though!

I love immortelle, and it's not in very many of the Lab's scents. I also love ambergris and Myrrh, so very excited to try this! Wet: Mmmm. Myrrh dominant on me so far, but a very pretty, feminine Myrrh, somehow. Warm, resinous. Dry: Almost a Myrrh single note. Very sweet Myrrh. Really pretty. Doesn't go powdery at all. I'm undecided about whether I might like more of this. It's a really beautifully Myrrh on me, but I was hoping for a bit more complexity.

This was a generous frimp from a forum purchase. As soon as I read the notes, I wondered why on earth I have never hunted this down to try, I LOVE all of these notes! Wet: Something earthy and green - not sure where that's coming from. Maybe the combo of the smoky musk and patch? It's interesting, and it's starting to warm up and sweeten on my skin. Not quite what I was expecting though. I'm not really getting any of the listed notes. Dry: Mostly a very dry, earthy patchouli, with hints of dark musk. This actually reminds me a lot of Lush's Middle Earth Turns to Rock soap, which I always really liked.

I am so stoked to have this in my life Wet: Chewy, caramelly, rich, earthy tobacco. *eyes roll back in head* Dry: Same. /dies

I knew this would be quite masculine, and likely not something I personally wanted to wear, but I was compelled to try it anyway. Wet: Mmm. Sexy. Woody, spicy. Manly. Makes me want to find a sexy man, hold him down, and dump this on him. Mmmm. I love the black amber's touch of sweetness, and the smokiness of this. Maybe it's not too manly for me, maybe I could wear it... Dry: My ability to amp amber to high heaven has actually made this just sweet enough for me to wear, I think! Still not sure if I will, but I think I owe it a full day test. I really like the sweet amber and smoky woods combo. The musk is understated on me, and something makes it just a touch spicy. It's really nice, and kind of sultry.
-
Wet: Woody, and almost peppery. It tickles my nose. Not what I was expecting. Dry: Warm frankincense, with a hint of clove. Which I love, but I do already have quite a few incense blends that I love as much or more than this. Glad to have gotten to try it!

"red fruits" can be iffy on me. Don't care, I love the other Monster Baits I have so much that I needed to track this down. Wet: This morphs really quickly on my wrist. I get a blast of realistic strawberry, which quickly turns to plastic, which quickly turns to burning sugar. I'm not sure this is working on me, and that makes me so so sad. Dry: Most of the plastic and smell of burning decreases quite a bit, but unfortunately this is still very "fake" on my skin. Makes me so sad, I wanted to love this so much - Underbed, Closet, and Underpants are three of my all-time favourites. I think I had unreasonable expectations for this as a result, and should have known this combo of notes had a good chance of not working on me.
