So. Violet is the devil on me. It induces migraines and makes me nauseous. BUT I don't amp it, so sometimes I can wear something with violet in it. Plus, this was a frimp, and is someone is kind enough to give me something to try, I'm darn well going to try it. Wet - Omg, the Lilac!! I love Lilac. But it's quickly overshadowed by the Tuberose. The violet is behaving though and not making me ill. Dry - Not terrible! I love the lilac note, but something about the combo with the tuberose and hints of violet aren't really doing it for me. Still, glad to have gotten to try it!

In the bottle, this is amazing. Myrrh and Musk and just - awesomeness. Wet on my, it does this super fascinating Cola thing...not at all unpleasant. Shortly after, I get the motor oil phase. Even that is quite pleasant. Smells like a sexy mechanic. Lol. I do note that this is not strong on me at all. Based on other's reviews, I only tested the tiniest drop, and it's very faint on me. My skin may be a bit dry though. Dry - The Myrrh finally comes out. Still mostly Myrrh and motor oil though, not really getting the musk. I really like it, but it's a bit masculine on me. I'm just not 100% sure about it, It only came out of the mail yesterday, so I will likely hang on to it and restest again at a later date. There is something really compelling about it, I will say that! After some careful thought, I actually think it smells like my grandfather used to smell.

Wet - This is mostly steel on me, with some leather. Smells like my dad's workshop when I was a kid. Creates a sense of nostalgia, but so far not something I want to smell like. Dry - The leather comes out a bit more, but I'm still amping the metal. Not getting the blood or musk at all. Not for me!

Wet: Why does this smell like vegetables?? Like - raw squash? After reading some other reviews, I see people have likened this to zucchini. That's pretty accurate. Dirty zucchini. I like zucchini, but I do not want to smell like it. This is just terrible on me, and I'm having to wash it off. ETA: Having re-read the notes, I realize that of course courgette is zucchini, so it's supposed to smell like veggies. Lol! Still, not for me!

In the bottle, I get mostly white rose. White rose is my favourite kind of rose. Hints of vanilla from the bottle as well. Wet: Rose. A bit of ambergris. Not getting any "champagne musk" (and by that I mean I am not getting anything that smells like either champagne or musk. I am not sure what champagne musk is - I wondered if it actually referred more to the colour of the musk than anything to do with the bubbly). The vanilla isn't evident when it's wet. I love rose. And this rose is gorgeous. Even if it stays just like this, it's a winner, but I do hope to get some Vanilla on drydown. As it's drying, the beautiful sweet vanilla amber does indeed show up! Beautiful, beautiful! I want to roll around in it. It's so lovely and elegant. Dry: Love it. It's beautiful. Primarily a white rose blend on me, with lovely ambery vanilla muskiness. It's feminine and so pretty. I am so happy I went ahead and got a blind bottle.

Wow, this is not what I expected. Though there are no listed notes, so I didn't really know what to expect, I guess, but it wasn't this. It's VERY sweet, but I like sweet, so I'm good with that. I get a tiny bit of incense, but mostly something sweet and "sticky" smelling. It's growing sweeter and sweeter as it dries, and it's almost getting sickly sweet. Dry, there is just something off about this on me. It's like a weird foodie incense, but not in the same way as All Souls (which I adore). This isn't terrible, and it's hard to describe why I don't like it, I just don't. It's resinous, incensey and sweet, all things I should like, but it's not working for me.

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info
LizziesLuck replied to kebechet's topic in BPAL FAQs
Puddin is really good at responding to emails (in my experience) and he had said there were issues with the web contact form, so if you haven't heard back I bet he didn't get it. Try emailing him! He emailed me back today about an issue, so despite how busy he must be he's still responding to us insistent whiners beloved customers. -
Wet - This is instantly really pretty and intriguing. I almost get anise, but I'm guessing that's the mix of cinnamon and clove. It's sweet, but not too foodie. The spice quickly dies down. And mmmm, that beeswax note! Amazing. Simply gorgeous. It's like nothing else I've smelled. It's feminine, with a bit of an edge. Captivating. I'm starting to get some of the smoky vanilla coming through, and it's to die for. Spicy beeswax smoky vanilla deliciousness. Indeed. ETA: ANISE. I wasn't crazy. I get anise from this, and it's beautiful. Creamy, spicy beeswax, vanilla and anise. It's lovely.

Fresh out of the mail! This is choc full of notes of win for me. Which doesn't keep it from smelling like cat pee when it's wet on my skin. Interesting. But I persevere! I actually think what I'm smelling is the Haitian patch. which I assumed would be similar to normal patch. but is quite different. This gives me hope though, as through experience I know it takes patch. a bit to "settle" on my skin. I don't know about this. I am frozen tonight, can't get warm, so my body heat is non-existent and not doing much for this blend. Plus it just came out of the mail, and it was coldish out today. I think I need to retest, but right now I'm getting a slightly floral, ambergrisey vanilla. It's ok, but not wowing me.

Wet - I don't know. I don't know what that smell is. It's masculine. ?? I can't pick anything out! It's nice though. A really nice, expensive cologne is what I get out of this. I think this would be really sexy on a man. This was a generous frimp from a forumite, and as I can't see wearing it ever, and don't currently have a man to hold down and splash it on, I will likely pass this on to someone else to try. Glad to have tried it though!

Wet - Soapy. Mostly berries, overtop of a "clean" scent that I tend to associate with laundry. Usually I hate that type of scent, but this is quite pretty so far. Dry, there is something really compelling about this scent. It's not the type of thing I normally go for, but I'm really enjoying it. After being on my skin for sometime, the scent has morphed into sun-warmed grass and berries, with hints of "clean that I actually really like. I can see wearing it in late spring, early summer. Really pretty.

Wet, this is very mint dominant on me. It's pretty much drowning out all the other notes. It's a sweet mint, with a bit of floral greenness. Mostly it smells like toothpaste. Dry...still toothpaste. Sad. I get none of the Lab's beautiful lilac or white chocolate I had hoped for. My skin has turned this into toothpaste. Boo, skin chemistry! ETA: Oh my gosh HOURS later, once the mint finally burned off, this has turned into the most beautiful sweet musk I have ever smelled. I will need to test again. Why can't it smell like this from the beginning? I don't wanna smell like toothpaste for hours first!

Wow, this is pretty. Not what I expected. A very sweet floral. It's my understanding that pikaki is a type of jasmine, and while I do get hints of Jasmine, it's not instant horror on my skin like it usually is. This is so interesting. It's a bit spicy as well, and almost fruity. I love the hints of pink pepper I'm getting. I do wish I could pick out the vanilla more though. It reminds me a bit of Mi-Go Brain Canister. I really like it, but I'm not sure I need a bottle. I can't see actually wearing it very often. I'm very glad to have tried it though.

Wet.....dill pickle chips. I kid you not. WTF? That fades quickly to a musky floral, but there is still a weird hint of....tanginess. Lol So strange. I applied again in a different spot - same weird tangy dill note. I don't know what the dry down is like, as it all but disappears. Guess this one isn't for me!

Wet, for one glorious instant, this smells so much like Red Lantern. Caramelly Rum, with almost a touch of coconut. But then my skin warms it and it morphs. Currently, it's gone sort of "dry and dusty" as some foodie scents occasionally do on me. Still butterscotchy, not too much booze, but that weird dustiness. It's now reminding me more of Butterscotch Balls and Black Beetles, but not as rich. It's getting more and more powdery, and I don't think it's going to recover at this point. Sad, it started out amazing for a split second, before my skin ruined it!

This was a generous frimp. Wet, lots of boozey absinthe! Very anisey. I like it! I was a bit afraid this would be really ozoney, which is a scent I don't care for. I also get little hints of floral spiciness, which I am taking to be the "oriental perfume". This is pretty, but doesn't last long on me at all. It's also not really my style, but I do like it much more than I figured.

I so wanted to love this, based on the honey, vanilla, cinnamon and sandalwood. So much win. I knew it was risky though, based on the jasmine, which I dislike a lot and amp like crazy (of course). Wet - yup, jasmine. *sigh*. Pretty much a jasmine single note. A bit soapy. Overly sweet. Dry - Not too bad, actually. Still more jasmine than I care for, but not completely overwhelming or terrible. It's a soft sweet floral. It took quite some time to get to this though. so I'm certain I would never want to put myself through the wet stage just to get to a scent that I "don't mind". I shall pass this along to someone who might love it better.

The sweet spiciness of this reminds me a lot of Alice's Evidence, which is all spice on me. It's mostly cinnamon with hints of the other spices. Gently sweet. I quite like it, but have lots of other spicy scents so I doubt I will need more.

I love Morocco. I love the Hair Gloss even more. Smells just like the perfume of Morocco to me, but has way better lasting power. I often spray it on my clothing as well, and have never had any staining issues, just glorious creamy spicy smelling clothes. I quite frequently slather myself in Morocco Bath Oil, Hair Gloss and Perfume. It's very office appropriate, to me.

I am a foodie, alright! Do you have a spreadsheet? I make notes on everything I try in my spreadsheet, so I can check if there are specific notes that never seem to work. It's how I figured out I don't like orange blossom when I thought I really did, lol.

Wow, this is not what I expected! It's primarily a gorgeous floral. Apparently Oleander smells like what I had previously thought was honeysuckle? Or maybe they smell similar. Either way, super pretty. It's sweetened by the honey, but not overpoweringly sweet. This actually reminds me a lot of the Chaos Theory III blend which I adore. Dry, it's the same as wet. Beautiful, and may be one of my favourite florals thus far. Love it!

Somehow I ended up getting two imps of this in different swaps at the same time. One is a very dark brownish red. The other is a clear golden amber. I have to assume that the darker one is aged, but I could be wrong. I tested on each arm just for fun. They both smell pretty much identical to me. The darker one is maybe a tad stronger and richer at first. They have both faded quickly, but surprisingly the light coloured, less strong one has lasted a bit longer. But I think there's more throw from the darker one. The scent is lovely, a beautiful spiced amber. Rich and luxurious. Not sure if I will need more than an imp though. I have lots of other spicy scents that I think I like better.

Ok, here`s my actual list. I had to go through my spreadsheet and rank my bottles, before I could even begin to sort this out. The scents these notes came out of are the only ones scoring a 9 or higher (10 favourites in total) Honey - 3 Coconut - 2 Caramel - 2 Milk/Cream - 2 Vanilla - 2 Rose - 2 Cake - 2 Incense - 2 And then a ton of other notes that were just once. I think what I learned is that my tastes are super varied and eclectic. No surprises there, really. You should listen to my Ipod... What did surprise me was that Ginger, Apricot and Fig, three of my fave notes each only had one `hit` on my top 10 list. Super interested thread idea!

I can`t even pick the vetiver out in SSFTTOIS. There`s an earthiness, but to me that`s more the Patch than anything. I adore my decant. Just ordered a bottle today!

This is so interesting! When I have a sec, I will sit down and do this as well, you could learn a lot from it and get better at blind bottle purchases! I just wanted to quickly recommend Iulia to you (Best. Tea. Ever.) and also Satan Starting from the Touch of Ithuriel`s Spear (OMG the Blackcurrant is to die for!!).
