    The House

Oh my gosh I love this so much! I hoped there would be some similarity to Zombi, which there is. But I have to say, this is better. The most gorgeous roses, and somehow the smell of decay without being disgusting. I had figured I would wear this to bed, I expected I would like it, but that it wouldn't be something I could get away with wearing in public. I love it so much that I don't care! I will wear it to bed, but I will also wear it wherever else I please!! LOVE!!

    Thirteen (13): July 2007

I like this a lot. It was a lovely frimp from a forumite. The only other 13 I a tried was Jan 2012, and though it had the chocolate/ginger combo that I love, it was too herby to satisfy this foodie. July 13, 2007 is a different story though. This is lovely. Sweet, fruity, a little spicy, rich, creamy and chocolatey. If the upcoming Nov 13, 2015 happens to have similar notes (more fruity/spicy than herby) it shall be mine!!

    Blood

So, I've been operating under the assumption that I hate Dragon's Blood. I can remember, when I started collecting back in 2005, trying something with it in it (Can't remember now, and I wasn't a good note taker back then, but it was Dragon's something) and I hated it with a passion and have avoided it since. That being said, I also have a rule that if someone is generous enough to frimp me something I WILL try it. No matter what. Even if there's violets. Or jasmine. Or troll vomit. So I'm testing Blood. AND IT'S GOOD. See? This is why I have this rule. Apparently, with the right notes along with it, I can, in fact, enjoy Dragon's Blood. I get a lot of cherry (which is also an iffy note on me, but I love it when it stays true and doesn't turn to plastic and/or cough syrup), a bit of Myrrh (love) and a hint of clove (love). I'm not even sure I can pick out the Dragon's Blood. I'm not actually sure if I would wear this, and I don't think I need a bottle, but that's not the point. The point is, I don't have to avoid Dragon's Blood like the plague anymore!!!! (I keep huffing my wrist. I may even full-day test this. How astonishing)

    Autumn

This is gorgeous. This is what I had wished Samhain was (Samhain was wonky on me). Leaves and rose are gorgeous with the fruitiness of osmanthus. It's sweet, a tiny bit woody (without smelling like a pine tree or pencil shavings) and just perfectly Autumnal. A lovely forumite gave me a tester, and I loved it so much I've just placed my first order to Pretty Indulgent to pick up a bottle (and some friends for the ride, obviously). This will be a go to all through Fall, and many falls to come. Can't wait for my bottle to arrive!

    Ameles Potamos

I'm not a fan of aquatics, but I am a fan of the whole Wanderlust category, so I was excited to receive this frimp from the Lab! Wet - Strong! Whoa. Yep, it's aquatic, which equals laundry detergent on me. As it dries, I really get the murkiness, and something almost like Vetiver (which I've recently discovered I sort of like) It's a little smoky. Overall. this is really nice for an aquatic, and I think I'll actually keep the imp, but I'm not sure how much I'll wear it, if at all.

    Baku

Frimp from the Lab. I am always looking for new bedtime BPAL, so was quite excited to try this before bed. On me (and keeping in mind this is Lab fresh) this is pure, herbal lavender. Unsweetened by anything, and very true. I love it. I've worn it to bed several times this week. It's very soothing and relaxing, as I always find lavender to be. Doesn't help me sleep one bit, but nothing does. I either sleep or I don't, nothing I do seems to change that. Either way, I thoroughly enjoy wearing this to bed, and am contemplating getting a bottle.

    Evil

This was a frimp. Not one I would have picked for myself, but those often turn out the best! Wet - I don't know? I can't really pick out notes, but other than Tobacco, plum and tea (none of which are what I am smelling) I'm not all that familiar with most of the notes in this. Quite masculine though, and a little soapy. Like nice manly shower gel. Dry - Does eventually sweeten up a bit, and the plum and tea come through. Not bad, by any means, and not really masculine anymore. Just not me though. Still, really glad I got to try it!

    The Antikythera Mechanism

Frimp from the lab! In the imp it smells like patchouli, and I had to check the label again. Wet on skin - no patch at all, so my nose is crazy. It's such a warm scent. Tobacco (but not ashtray) sweetness, bit woody. Hmmm. Very different. Like a lot. Dry - this is so well blended. I can't pick out the notes anymore. It's really beautiful, and kinda sexy. I worried I would find it too masculine, but not the case. It's sweet and has enough vanilla to make me feel I could wear it. I'll be doing a full day test, but I may need a bottle! EDIT: I have to re-review, because after this has settled for a couple months and I am re-testing, I am BLOWN AWAY by how it smells wet. Wet: This is the best tobacco I have ever smelled. I can't even describe how rich and fragrant it is. I think the teak and oak are just blending seamlessly with the tobacco to make it richer and more nuanced. It's sweetened by the vanilla, but I can't really pick the vanilla out as a note. Dry: Still amazing tobacco supported by woods (but not the fir kind I don't like) and vanilla. Unisex. Amazing. Need a bottle!

    Butterscotch and Blackbeetles

In the bottle this is pure, glorious butterscotch. I know that if it goes wrong, it's only because of my chemistry (though foodie stuff usually works) Wet - Peanut brittle. And not in a bad way, at all. Dry - Wow. This is butterscotch and dirt. It's awesome. Not too sweet. A little dusty. Some richness. Love!

    Detestable Putrescence

In the bottle, I not only get melty vanilla ice cream, but also the delicious waffle cone it's in. Wet, there's almost a boozey note to it - like the ice cream is drizzled in rum caramel. Nom nom nom. After about 10 mins, I get a really weird almond extract note, nose to skin. The waft is more of a buttery vanilla. It wants to go plasticy, real bad. But in the end it doesn't. Overall, I don't really know how I feel about this. The waft is fairly nice, but nose to skin there's a weird note in there. I will likely give this a try layering, as that was sort of what I wanted it for anyway. Hmmm. Undecided!

    Bastet

Totally overwhelming at first. Overly sweet and cloying. But it quickly settles into a really pretty amber blend. My favourite so far, I think (amber is iffy on me if it's the main component). A little spicy, a little sweet. I can't really pick out the cardamom of the saffron per se, but they give it a nice spicy feel. It's a warm scent. Luxuriant is actually the perfect description for it. It like this a lot.

    Aizen-Myoo

I had a hard time picking notes out of this. It was a light pretty floral for all of 10 minutes. Just as I was starting to get a handle on the notes present, it pretty well disappeared. It leaves me without much to say about it, as I can barely remember it now!

    Alice in the Pumpkin Patch

Initially this is far more pumpkin patch than Alice. Like Alice was swallowed up by the pumpkin patch. Then the carnation peeks out a bit - sort of like one of Alice's feet sticking out from amongst the vines. Then there's pretty much a full scale war between Alice and that pumpkin patch - a war which nobody really wins. It's a pretty good mix in the end. Alice suits the pumpkin patch really well. I also just love the idea for the whole pumpkin patch line. I would love to see it done again another year with different GC scents in the patch.

    The Turkish Village

I love cardamom. A lot. So I will try most anything with cardamom in it. Cardamom, coffee and rose?? Now we're talking! This is fairly light on me, not overpowering. I get mostly a perfect blend of strong black coffee, and dry dusty cardamom. There are hints of rose and incense. But just hints. I can't wait to wear this for a full day. There are some similarities to Café Mille et Une Nuit, to me. But I find Café Mille to be more heavy on the spice. It's more of an "Autumnal" coffee. To me this is a lighter, more "summery" coffee, if that makes any sense. Either way, there's a home for both in my collection.

    Sticky Eyeballs and Floppy Entrails

I'm not a huge candy scent fan, more of a foodie, but something about this made me think I just had to have it, and I'm glad I do. Wet, it's actually somewhat effervescent, like fizzy strawberry candy. As it dries, it loses the fizziness, but gains some creaminess. I never do get the marshmallow, but it may become more prominent as it settles and ages (fresh from the mail yesterday). Either way, I really like this. Sweet strawberry candy, not fake on me at all. It's like nothing else I have in my collection, and I think I'll really like wearing it come summer.

    Little Lady Macbeth

I was a little worried that this might be to much like Eat Me. I love Eat Me...but I already have it. I was not disappointed, where there are obvious similarities, they are different as well, different enough that they both can have a place in my collection. The Little Lady is richer to me. It's all honey cake, with just a hint of fruitiness. It's sweet, but not overpowering. It's not as "in your face" as Eat Me is, to me. I really like it and can see wearing it a lot in the winter.

    Apple V

Apple doesn't normally work for me. Well, not that it doesn't work, it just disappears. But I had to try this anyway, based on the other notes. I figured even if the apple disappeared, I might be left with gorgeous coconut and fig, two of my all time favourite notes. So far the apple has actually stuck around, and it's nice! Fresh and crisp. The coconut is providing a warm base. The fig hasn't really come out yet, but I amp fig like there's no tomorrow, so I figure it'll show up eventually... Anyway, this is lovely. Fresh and clean and a bit tropical. Perfect for spring/summer.

    Sleepytime BPAL

I got a frimp of Baku in my recent Lab order so I tried it to sleep last night. While it was a glorious herbal lavender on me and I thoroughly enjoyed wearing it, it did nothing to help me sleep. Then again, right now I don't know if getting hit with a Mack truck would help me sleep.....

    Liebeszauber

This is pretty much straight out of the mailbox, because I was too excited to wait. Wet - This is all Cubeb, just like Crib Girls is on me initially. But I knew from my experience with Crib Girls that if I was patient and waited it out, the cubeb would eventually behave itself so the other notes could play a part. As it dries, the honey comes out first, further likening it to Crib Girls to my nose. Once fully dry though, it's a different story. This is beautiful. The carnation comes out, which is a favourite of mine, backed up by honey, creamy vanilla and the faint lingering fiery cubeb. On me, this turns into a sexier version of Alice. It's grown-up and sophisticated. Has good staying power so far, and decent throw. I am loving it. A keeper!!

    Blood Moon Full Lunar Eclipse

I was so excited that I tested straight out of the mailbox. This is very pomegranate and wood heavy on me, and the effect is very similar to Red Queen, which I love. It's fruity, sweet, a little tangy, and woody. The kind of wood I really like (may even be the same Mahogany note from Red Queen), it's for sure not pine or cedar. I get a bit of the musk, but not much. These is deeper and darker than Red Queen, but still very similar to my nose. I can't wait to see how it settles and ages! For sure a keeper.

    Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake

This does not disappoint. I love anything "cake" so of course I had to have it. It's really well blended, I can't pick out a separate cake note vs. frosting. It really smells like the whole cupcake together. To me, pumpkin baked goods never smell much of pumpkin, they smell of the spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger) that we put in pumpkin baking. So this smells like that to me. Like a cupcake, spiced with pumpkin pie spices. It's glorious, and I will be slathering myself in it all fall! (So glad I also ordered the Bath Oil in this scent from the Post!)

    La Femme de Satan

initially I get lots of cocoa and that makes me happy. As it dries, the cocoa burns off, as does any sweetness, however what I'm left with makes me pretty happy too. Keeping in mind that I am so excited I'm testing straight out of the mailbox, on me this is sexy dark patchouli, musk, tobacco and leather. This is really dark and seductive. I love it, and can't wait to see how it settles, and then how it ages. Also, one of the few blends where I have enjoyed leather, just FYI. ETA: I'm testing this again, now that it's settled. Still glorious. The only notable difference is a bit of sweet fruitiness from the currant, making this all the more mysterious and seductive.

    Hilma

Received this as lovely frimp from a forumite. I like all of the listed notes except jasmine, which I tend to amp, so this could really go either way. In the imp, I for sure get a lot of jasmine, which scares me, but I really want to try it anyway. Initially there is a bit of jasmine, but it burns off and I get sweet rose and honeysuckle, two notes I adore. Unfortunately, the sweetness in this just keeps amping and amping, and there's nothing to cut it, so it becomes overwhelming.

    Sarah, the Mother Bear

Initially I get a blast of sage, and I don't enjoy it, but it burns off almost instantly and the cinnamon and Myrrh come to the forefront. They don't last either though, and are eventually replaced by warm leather, a touch of Tonka, some woodiness and a bit of sweetness. I actually really like this once it's dry, but I'm just not sure if it's "Me". I will likely give it a full day test before I decide if I need more. Also, as an afterthought, I actually think this is rather unisex. ETA: Feb 6, 2016 - Second testing. Final verdict: It's just "ok" on me. I can't see needing more, and I'll be passing my decant on to someone who will hopefully love it better.

    Sleepytime BPAL

It may sound a bit odd, but my favourite relaxing sleep time note is dirt. I wear Zombi or Yorick to bed most nights, and lately I've been spraying my linens with Down the Rabbit Hole Atmo spray.
