    Maenad

Wet: Bubblegum with something green underneath. Dry: The orange blossom ruins this foe me. It's official folks, I don't like orange blossom. So sad! I adore carnation, but get none out of this blend. I just get orange blossom, which is quite sharp and bitter on me.

    BPTP & BPAL Layering Combos!

I only just started using the hair glosses. I love Eclipse with Morocco.

    BPTP & BPAL Layering Combos!

Necrobump!! I would love to hear what people are paring with various hair glosses. I have Morocco and Alice HG so far, and am looking for pairings (besides the obvious). I would love to hear what people are pairing with the other hair glosses as well, as I have every intention of getting more!

    Machu Picchu

Wet; Something fruity and almost effervescent. Like rocket candies somehow. Followed by something very green. Dry: Nothing really, it's pretty much gone. It did smell nicely of citrus and greenery for a little bit.

    El Dorado

Wet: Something a lot like Patchouli. Which I didn't think was in this. Doesn't last long and is quickly replaced by warm resins. Dry: This is so unique and intriguing. I'm not very familiar with copal, but if it's what I'm smelling, it's really interesting. Resinous, a bit woody. There's almost something aquatic to it as well. Really interesting! It's not for me, but I actually think this would smell amazing on man.

    Peach I

I have yet to find a perfect Peach blend for me, though I love peach. I am excited to try this! (Received in a swap) In the bottle: Super sweet fruit syrup Wet on skin: Still very sweet, but the tobacco blooms immediately and is lovely. The Tonka is very prevalent as well. Dry: This fades a lot on drydown, but is still really pretty.

    Molly Grue

An angry little beetle with her own kitchen beauty: fig, sesame, hazelnut, and cooking spices softened by rice flower. In the bottle, sweet fig and rich hazelnut. Wet: This is surprisingly nutty. I usually turn anything with fig into fig single note, so I am loving that the other notes are coming out. Wet this is beautiful. Sweet fig and nuts. Dry: Pretty much fig single note. Which is beautiful! Don't get me wrong. I adore the Lab's fig, it's one of my favourite notes. I just wish I could find a fig blend where the other notes sing out too. So far the only ones have been Freak Show and The Grave-Pig.

    La Belle au Bois Dormant

This was a frimp. I'm excited to try it! Wet: Really strong sweet floral with something almost creamy. a bit fruity. Dry: This has that weird "butter" note that I found in Thalia. They both have plumeria and pear, so I don't know what the culprit is, but it ruins it for me.

    High John the Conqueror

This is a frimp. I didn't have any intentions of trying it really, and as such had no expectations. Wet: Floral. I'm not good at picking out a lot of florals, but I see others have suggested honeysuckle or lotus (maybe even lily?), and that sounds about right to me. Dry: This is beautiful! A lovely gentle sweet floral. I love it. Unfortunately it's not all that strong and doesn't seem to last long. It needs a full day test. I'm so happy to have got to try this, as I never would have guessed it was this pretty.

    Smut

2007 This was a lovely frimp. I've been meaning to try it, so I was pretty excited! Who doesn't want to smell like Smut? Wet: Grape cough syrup. Dry: Musk indeed! And sexy musk at that. Like, throws you on the bed, rips your favourite blouse and you don't even care, sexy. Unfortunately, it's still fighting a losing battle with that grape cough syrup note. It wants to settle into something boozey and super sexy, but never quite gets there. So it ends up being cough-syrup-after-sex and that's not what anyone wants to smell like. Sad. ETA: Oh shoot. I thought I was going to test a different year of Smut (some kind soul sent me another tester) and I was excited to see if there was a different result, but someone this is 07 again! Well, my skin chem did change recently, so I might as well. So much musk! It's musk overload. I love musk. Red is dominant. Ugh, but there comes that gross fake grape note. Shit. Guess my skin chem hasn't changed that much. Wish I had got a decant of this years to see if fresh is any better on me. I want to love Smut!

    Shub-Niggurath

Got this in a swap, and so excited to finally try it! Wet: Spicy. Lots of ginger. A little bit sharp and bitter. Peppery. Dry: The ritual herbs, whatever they are, are very strong in this. It reminds me strongly of some of the TALS that I've tried. This isn't foodie or perfumey to me. It's not feminine in any way, or pretty. It's strong, and it's dark, and it's powerful. I don't dislike it, but I don't want to wear it either. Not what I had expected, or hoped for.

    El Dia de los Reyes

2013 Wet: Amazing. It really smells just like Mexican Hot Cocoa to me, or Hot Cocoa with Cinnamon. I get hints of coffee as well. Dry: This is not what I was expecting at all. The cocoa is just a rich hint in the background. The cinnamon comes to the forefront, without being overbearing, and it's sweetened perfectly by the brown sugar. And you really can tell that it's brown sugar, not just random sweetness. The blend gets a hint of nuttiness from somewhere as well. I don't get much coffee, but that could be the rich nuttiness in the background. On me, this is like Café Mille et une Nuit and Midway had a beautiful little lovechild, and Monster Bait: Underbed raised her. Quite complex, foodie while still being perfumey. I am really enjoying it and am excited to add it to my Winter rotation!

    Alice Hair Gloss

Oh Alice. The perfume oil is mostly carnation on me, with hints of sweet rich honey. I find the hair gloss to be quite similar to that. It's rich and spicy, without being overpowering. I found that this had pretty good lasting power. I have dry hair and so only wash every second day, and I could still smell whiffs of this in my hair the next day. This is the first hair gloss I've tried though, so I don't have a point of reference as far as staying power or throw. As far as actual benefit to my hair, I can't really say yet. It'll take some trial and error to know how much to use without weighing my hair down, while still getting the moisture I need. My usual brand of hair oil (Bio Silk) is amazing for me, so it will be hard to top that but this certainly smells way better! I thoroughly enjoyed using it and look forward to trying more scents.

    Chestnut and Fig Atmosphere Spray

I love fig, so I was hoping that it would sing through strongly in this, but the cedar is overpowering to me. I actually really do like it, it just smells nothing like I had hoped. Very woodsy.

Red Roses and Old Bones Atmosphere Spray

Love this. Gorgeous lush roses, with a hint of something dark and disturbing underneath. I don't know what "old bones" smell like, but I can totally imagine that they might smell like whatever that smell is, mixed in with the roses. It's sinister and luxurious all at the same time.

    Hellcat

Wet: Cherry. That's what almond extract smells like on me, for whatever reason. Dry: Pleasant, but sort of vague and non-descript. Sweet. It's not blowing me away or anything, but it's not bad either. I feel like this might be a good layering scent for things that could do with a little sweetening (Café Mille et Une Nuit comes to mind).

    Baobhan Sith

This is primarily grapefruit on me, which goes really bitter and awful. Fail.

Autumn Scents - recommend the ones you love

I wore Dia de Los Muertos today, perfect for late summer/ early fall. Also, Alice's Evidence is a perfect GC fall scent to me.

    Vice

Wet: The orange blossom is the strongest note, but I get hints of cocoa. Cherry is non-existent. Dry: This is not good on me. There's something really off-putting about it. I'm starting to think I either don't like orange blossom, or it doesn't agree with my skin chemistry. This is the third orange blossom blend I've tried and they've all smelled really off.

    Envy

Envy is one of my all-time favourites. On me it's a gorgeous mint with deep dark herbs that I've never quite been able to identify, with just some hints of lavender. I wear it in the spring and early summer, and also to bed a lot. I find it very soothing and calming. In university I used it to help me get through exams....lol.

    Hymn

This is very light on me, and disappears really quickly. It also goes quite powdery, but before that it's a nice combo of lily and rose.

    Looking for

Dirt lover here too, also recommending Zombi. it's my favourite dirt scent, and one of my favourite scents overall. Who wouldn't want to smell of dirt and roses?
  23. LizziesLuck

    Eclipse

Wet: Straight up artificial almond extract, which reads as slightly cherry-ish to me. Dry: Yum. I amp the cinnamon, and it's sweetened nicely by the vanilla and almond, and quite creamy. I like this a lot and can see wearing it enough to get a bottle.

    Katharina

Wet: Soap. Slightly sweet, slightly sharp soap. Dry: I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. I love apricot, and the apricot in this is gorgeous, sweet and tart at the same time. And I do like florals, I just don't know about these florals. I'm not sure that I like orange blossom. This will need a full day test before I make any decision. Also, I feel like this is a spring scent, so I may save the imp till then and test again.

    Mama-Ji

Spices, cardamom, nutmeg, and flowers. Wet: For a brief moment I worry that the "flowers" are turning out to be jasmine, but I'm wrong, it's a spicy floral, more like carnation. Dry: Mostly creamy sweet spiciness. As others have mentioned, this does smell somewhat "incensey". it's glorious. It doesn't have a lot of throw on me. I'm waiting to see if it has some lasting power to know if I need a bottle. P.S. thank you Elka!
