    Quatre

Ok, so I am fairly sure this is Quatre, though the decant is labelled as Deux. It smells nothing like my decant of actual Deux (which smelled totally like the description) and this smells like chocolate and rose in the vial, so I am going with it! If it turns out I was wrong I will edit my review. Just FYI I got this decant from Ajevie - I have emailed her to sort it out and will update here when I get a response in case it helps others solve their own mystery... Wet: Chocolate, roses, and...feces. WTF, is there oudh in this? Yeah this smells kind of like diapers. Weird. I like the cocoa and rose combo, but there is this weirdness underneath that is...stanky. Dry: It actually takes quite a while for the stank to disappear, and then this is exactly what it says on the tin - chocolate and roses. It's quite nice, but I don't picture myself reaching for it over some of the other rose scents I have.

    Trois

White rose is my fave rose. And I adore ambergris. But orris ruins basically everything for me, so this is likely not to work. Still! Gotta try it. Wet: Ack it's so pretty! The white rose is gorgeous and the ambergris is musky and wonderful with it. So far, orris is very subdued. Dry: Well, the orris didn't ruin it! It's quite nice. Not stunning on me, sadly, just pleasant. I think I have other rose scents I like more, but still glad I tried this. Just proves nothing is ever truly a death note.

    Un

I have heard this compared to Lush's Rose Jam, so I am super excited to try it (though a bit confused, as I get no cherry in Rose Jam...) Wet: Mmm, delicious! I do sort of get a Rose Jam vibe, but with the addition of cherry. It's a pretty amazing combo. I was just getting back into rose after going through a weird skin chem phase when Lupers came out, so I am scared for my wallet. So far this one is pretty tempting for a bottle... Dry: I really am seeing why this was compared to Rose Jam - it's rather jammy! Once the cherry settles, it is no longer distinguishable as such, and mostly smells sweet and sticky. The rose is very candied. All in all, this is fabulous. If you have been looking for a BPAL close to Rose Jam (or just enjoy sweet jammy rose scents) don't pass up trying this! Pretty sure I will be getting a bottle, unless there are several more rose scents this year that are somehow better....

    Deux

I love the idea of a spicy rose scent! Wet: REALLY exotic spices (much more savoury that gourmand spices) with incense. I don't get any rose at all, initially. It does smell sort of "antique" and is very interesting. Exotic. Dry: I can't really say that I like this - more so that I appreciate the artistry of it, however its just not me. The spices smell sort of...old, like they have lost their potency. The rose is non-existent on me. It's interesting, and pleasant, nonetheless, but I just am not into it, for whatever reason. Glad to have tried it though!

    An Encounter of Three

Wet: Hmm. First I think "blarg! WTF is that!" but quickly I can pick out something caramelized (though I wouldn't have known it was sandalwood, this doesn't smell woody) and the sweet Tonka. But there is something else going on here that is slightly odd. I thought cassis liqueur was blackberry? (I Googled - it's Blackcurrant). I am getting nothing fruity here at all. Or boozy. It's actually a touch smoky. Like there is vetiver hiding in it.....hmmm. So far this is not my jam. Dry: Smoky and also sour. It really does end up smelling pretty similar to vetiver, though maybe less strong and astringent. I am not a fan, sadly.

    Novel Ideas for Secret Amusements

I am so intrigued by these notes! Wet: No clue what I am smelling! Smells sort of "white and creamy and cold" so I think it must be ivory? It's sort of soapy and powdery as well. Not gonna lie - it's pretty weird. I have never smelled anything quite like this, but if I had to pick something it reminded me of, it would be a chalky old fashioned cold cream. Dry: I don't like this, and I'm quite sad about it. It's really hard to describe, but it smells white and both powdery and creamy. Slightly soapy. Just not doing it for me.

Woman Dragging Her Aroused Lover Across a Bridge

Wet: This is gorgeous. Sweet amber, sweet light woods, and something that almost sparkles. It's gorgeous. I already want a bottle. It reminds me a wee bit of Haloes, with the oak and vanilla combo. It's perfumey (in an amazing way) I think from the amber, which also gives it some of that "traditional perfume but WAY better feel" that I also love. Like, a unique but also traditional perfume, if that makes any sense at all. It's so SO pretty. Dry: I really love this - the only thing holding me back from getting a bottle is that the rosewood (which is actually usually terrible on me, but isn't here) wants to go just a touch soapy - not so much nose to skin, but for sure in the waft I get hints of soap. Other than that, it's a gorgeous perfumey amber scent with hints of a clean vanilla and light sweet woods. Beautiful. I so adore amber scents. I will try this one again to see if it just needs more settling to avoid going soapy.

    The Pearl in the Volcano

Vetiver and I have not been getting along lately. I used to find my skin swallowed it, now I am having the opposite issue - scents listed as "a drop" or "hint" of vetiver are ending vetiver all day. Wet: OMG. Amber cream (which is an utterly gorgeous note that I need more of in my life) with just a hint of smokiness from the vetiver, which is almost caramelized and not at all horrid in this. This is fairly spectacular. Sweet, creamy, smoky, caramelized. Delicious. Dry: It's interesting, I am testing Woman Dragging Lover Across Bridge on the other arm, and they have a very similar lovely perfumey quality to them. I like this better though, it's deeper, richer, more sophisticated. The vetiver is so very well behaved, it just adds a touch of woody smoke to the blend. This is all about the sweet amber cream, and that faint hint of caramelized resins that is so alluring. Love this. Bottle!

    A Silhouette

So intrigued by this combo of notes! Wet: It's very faint. Mostly book/parchment, but not that horrid chemical smell that "book" notes sometimes turn to on my skin. It's really nice. I really wish it was stronger! Usually white musk is intense on me, but I can't really smell it. Or the lilac. Or whatever the heck "lampblack" is. I am getting a tiny bit of labdanum, which smells a bit like cola on me. The longer I wear it, the stronger the labdanum gets, and the more I enjoy it. Weird, since it basically smells like books and Coke. Dry: Very faint, books and cola-like labdanum. Really interesting, but not strong enough for me to wear. Too bad, as it's very unique. I am finding all of the Lupers I have tried so far this year really faint....

Vivid Enjoyment of the Memory of Rupture

Wet: Ginger - but a totally different ginger than any of the ginger notes I have smelled from the Lab before. Neat! It's really different. Sweet, spicy, but also green and fresh. This is quite lovely. It reminds me of something. No clue what. So that's super unhelpful... A bit of tea comes through. Can't detect anything of the rice milk, I don't think. Though some of the sweetness maybe stems from it. I can't really pick out the cardamom or oakmoss either, it's mainly this really neat grassy ginger note. Totally digging it. Dry: This is so light and faint. I wish it were stronger, because it's lovely. It's a sweet, fresh, grassy, almost watery sort of ginger. It's really neat. I may try it again another day and see if I get more throw out of it, because it's really unique and I like it a lot, but can't see wearing it if I can hardly smell it.

    413 U.S. 15 / Miller Vs. California

2018 version. I didn't order this with my initial Luper decant order, which has not arrived yet, but I wished I had. So I snagged it when I saw leftovers from a circle. (I should really learn to just get all the decants I want and once and save on shipping...) Wet: Something very green. I think the fig, it's like unripe, green fruit. Interesting. It reminds me of something, but I couldn't tell you what. This kind of confounds me. I can't pick out any of the listed notes clearly. MAYBE some tart berry? I just keep thinking "green" when I smell it. It's totally pleasant. Just...weird. Dry: Much the same. I wonder if that's maybe the cognac I am smelling? It's almost-but-not-quite effervescent. Still smells green to me. It's interesting, but I have many perfumes I love much more, so I will let this little partial go to a home where it will get more love.

    Caressing the Wild Rabbit

So I ordered a whole whack of decants and some blind bottles. This was not one of them. Ha ha. I convinced myself it wouldn't work, I dislike white tea, have too many orchid scents, blah blah blah. But then I got impatient waiting for my Luper decants to arrive and blind-bottled a partial anyway. LOL. Wet: The white tea is really strong, but not bitter like it usually is. It blends with the orchid and honey to make this perfumey in a really lovely way. This is actually fairly gorgeous. It's super light though, and fading really quickly. There's a faint green quality to it that I am really enjoying. Very pretty! Dry: It didn't fade completely like I worried it would, but it's very light, soft. Slightly clean. Fresh. Overall a very gentle and lovely scent. I can smell all the notes equally and distinctly. Really well blended. Glad I impulse bought it, and I will keep the partial, but I think based on how light it is I won't need more.
  13. [No additional description provided.] Currently obsessed with Pink Peppercorn, so had to give this a go. The perfume version of Dead Leaves and Pink Peppercorn was not good on me. Hoping this is better! Ah...there's cinnamon in the pumpkin pulp. This is mostly sweet cinnamon on me, with a hint of pumpkin and dead leaves. There's maybe a touch of that floral-spicy thing that pink peppercorn does, but barely any. The combo of the pumpkin spice type scent with the dead leaves is pretty special though. Kind of makes it like fall in a bottle. I'm really enjoying it, and will keep my little 5ml and use it.

    Channel Snow

Wet: Really interesting! Spicy and woody. Very dry, but also warm. It totally does remind of static. So interesting and unique. I like it a lot so far. Dry: I waited too long to review it dry, and it disappeared! So not long lasting (a couple hours only). I liked it while it lasted though, it was warm, woody and spicy. I can see wearing it in the summer on hikes.

    El Amor y la Muerte

I am super nervous about trying this. It's been resting for ages. When it first came in from PI, I opened the bottle for a sniff, and it smelled like rancid oil. Like it had actually maybe gone off. A few days later it smelled a bit better in the bottle. Hoping it just needed to settle. Wet: Thank goodness, it's not bad! The red sandalwood is gorgeous. The clove is subtly and lovely. Sadly, the rose wants to go a bit soapy on me. Hoping it settles on my skin, because otherwise this is really warm and complex and lovely. The resins give it such a beautiful rich sweetness. Dry: Subtle and warm. Sweet clove and resins, and warm sandalwood. Really nice. I wish it were stronger though. Going to age it and see.

    Count Dracula

Wet: Oooh, that's nice. I was expecting a lot of clove, but this is actually more about the ginger on me. It's backed by something rich and sweet that reminds me of warm amber. The leather and wood are very subtle, and the whole thing is very well blended. Not sure if I love it. But I do like it so far. Dry: Ginger, hints of clove and leather. It's not wowing me at all, which is sad, I had such high hopes, as so many speak so highly of this. I will likely need to let it go to another home, as I don't love it enough to keep it away from others who would love it.

    The Two Old Men

Wet: Mmm. Sweet coffee is very dominant, with the cocoa. They meld together brilliantly, and without any creaminess that sometimes sours blends like this on me. The teak coming through is stunning (I ADORE teak). This is so so good. I thought it would be really masculine, but it's sweet enough on me and it's totally unisex. Almost but not quite foodie. Dry: Interesting! Still lovely and sweet, lots of coffee and teak, but also a perfumey quality I was not expecting. It's really lovely. I adore coffee scents, I find them very comforting, so I can see this getting a lot of wear.

    Phantasm

Wet: Whoa! That's a lot of lemon. The jasmine is not horrible! Wow. I actually kind of don't hate this, but man is it intense! I think I would like it more as a tea than a perfume... Dry: I don't like it. It smells like a lemon cough drop. BUT I don't hate and it considering it is made up of 4 (I won't say "death notes", how about almost never works notes?) I call that a win.

    Mister Wednesday

Wet: A warm musky scent, reminds me a tiny bit of the musks in Dorian, and then the herbs come into play, and all resemblance is gone. "clean, herbal musk" is how I would describe this now. Utterly pleasant but not at all exciting. Dry: This is a lovely clean, grassy musk on me. I don't find it nearly as masculine as I expected to. I actually really enjoy it, it feels like a cool spring day, with the sun shining and the grass starting to turn really green...not at all what I expected. Might even be worth a bottle!

    Loosening of the Obi

Wet: Oooh. That's lovely. Soft white musk, a whisper of vanilla. It's a bit creamy. There is something almost a little green, or fresh about it. Vey soft, feminine and pretty. Very springy/summery. Dry: I do wish this was a bit stronger, but as it is it's a perfect work scent for me - light, totally inoffensive. Not much throw, but so very pleasant. Clean without being at all soapy or aquatic. It makes me feel pretty.

    Miss Fanny Phippany

Wet: Whooo!! That's a lot of leather and clove. STRONG leather. However, it's not doing that whole icky chemicals things, and the clove sweetens it up nicely, making the whole thing pretty damn sexy. Black leather and clove cigarettes, sexy. I have been looking for a scent like this for AGES. The clove is perfect in this. Dry: This has good lasting power. The leather note is still strongest, but it's a smooth leather, and I can handle it. It's sweet, rich and spicy as well. It's altogether a very dark, sexy scent. I like it! Not sure how much wear I will get out of it, but I am happy to have it.

    Gun Moll

Something about this has always called to me, and I have contemplated hunting a bottle down for years. It really could go either way, with this combination of notes....often scents with a ton of notes are a muddled mess on me. Wet: Interesting! Opium, amber and honey are what I think I am getting initially. Some complexities that I can't identify, but that give it a wonderful depth, as well. Some smoky tobacco as well. If I had to describe it in three words at this stage - "oldschool, classic sex-appeal" (Shh, that is too three words). It gets a little dirty, a little gritty (in a good way!) as it dries further. Oh ya, this is sexy. Dry: This is primarily a soft, sensual, sweet opium scent on me. I don't like many opium scents, I usually find it sharp and unappealing, but this, as I say, is soft and sweet, very well rounded, with hints of floral and spice that swirl around appealingly. I think the sweetness of both honey and amber are what make this so gorgeous on me. It's very old school sexy, and I love it. Glad I took the chance on it!

    Not Such an Agreeable Seat

Wet: Oudh- and it's a bit funky, but it doesn't actually smell like poo here, so we are off to a great start. Actually, I quite like this so far. Floral, woody, with just a hint of saffron. It's not wowing me, but it's certainly very pleasant, and kind of different. I like different. Dry: Turns out that even when oudh doesn't smell like poo, I still don't actually like it. It's just too...tangy? Funky? Weird. Not my jam. And that's all I can smell once this dries, is slightly floral oudh. Not for me!

    See How They Flash

Wet: Surprisingly, the lilac overpowers almost everything right off the bat. I figured violet would stomp all over it, but so far this is lovely lilac with plum and a shimmery musk. Gorgeous! So unexpected. It actually smells a lot like a couple of imps of Bensiabel that I have (not my bottle, which sadly smells too strongly of leather, for whatever reason). This makes me extremely happy - finally a plum and lilac scent! So stunned the violet barely shows up at all, and so grateful, as it's one of my least favourite notes. Dry: Yeah, this is gorgeous. This was a free sniffie from my decantress - I never would have tried it otherwise. SO HAPPY that I did. Just proves there is no such thing as a death note....I am getting a bottle. Who would have ever thought I would own a bottle with violet in it? If there is some tragic batch variation and I get a bottle that is pure violet though, I may cry.

    Luna Azul 2018

Wet: I don't know what motia attar is, but I wonder if that's what I am smelling? It's sort of a creamy herbal scent. Very bizarre. Hmmm. Dry: Slightly fruity, but still mainly this strange, unidentifiable scent - creamy and herbal green is the only way I can describe it. It's kind of lovely, in a strange, ethereal kind of way. Not sure how much I will wear it, but glad I tried it, and I will keep the decant.
