    Snake's Kiss

I adore Snake Oil, and variations of it, especially Womb Fury so I HAD to have this one. It reminds me of Silkybat with Snake Oil as a base instead of Patchouli, along with sugary vanilla cream. I'm getting yummy lemon sugar with my old love Snake in the background, all spicy and almost like a spun sugar. The lemon note stays pretty close to the skin, and fades back after drydown. The overall throw is almost a sweet grape wine note along with a wispy, cottony sugarfluff that is so warm, comforting and makes this unique. After wearing for 30 minutes, this is simply delish! It smells like straight up sugary frosting on me NOMNOM

    Alabaster Vulva

This takes me into the springtime field lined with happy faced flowers, wafting butterflies and blushing cheeks. Very elegant and refined, the vanilla is light and slightly sweet, drying down to a creamy skin scent that reminds me a bit of sugary marshmallows. The florals balance out the vanilla nicely, giving it a bit of air. This is a gorgeous, simple, versatile fragrance with just a bit of veiled innocence. Perfect for snuggling up with your lover (or yourself).

    The Pearl in the Volcano

This one is a standout for me and smells like everything that is good and right in the world. Creamy rich and warm, the rice milk here is perfectly blended with a tang of red currant. The myrrh, amber and vetiver are all grounding and really give this a beautifully sensuous tone like blushing, young romance. It's very much like the sticky rice desserts with a dollop of sticky, currant jam in the middle. I'm getting something a bit like blond sugar in the background but it doesn't take this into gourmand territory. It's not a sickly sweet fragrance, with the earthy tones rounding everything out and adding an overall "fresh air and nectar" overtone that doesn't go soapy. For days when I want a lighter fragrance and will be very refreshing in the heat. It's a very relaxing smell to me. Beautiful.

    Fortuna Populi Romani

I get alot of juniper up front. It's a sugared gin to me, mixed with a gorgeous vanilla sandalwood. The rich, supple leather note really comes out after dry-down, along with the chewy, golden patchouli. Smells like an upscale saddle shop to me, the kind with supple, hand stitched leather goods and handmade guayaberas. Couture cowgirl in a Ralph Lauren pantsuit, I have to big bottle this one. My favorite Fortuna!

    Flowering Lines

Apricot-tinted lilies, heady white climbing roses, sweet pea, and red carnation. Waiting for the Century Guild book along with the perfume was a challenge. I admit to stalking the kickstarter page, anxious for an update. Finally, my box appeared!!!! I've NEVER waited this long for BPAL The book alone was worth the wait. The color plates inside take my breath away with their beauty. Page after page of luscious, Art Nouveau masterpieces printed on glossy, thick pages. It's a feast for the eyes, and having a perfume to accompany it, makes my heart sing. Not your average, fruity floral, it is a sophisticated fresh fragrance and an absolute must for floral lovers. So innocent and sexy at the same time. As the top notes settle, the indulgent floral bouquet transforms into a unique floral potion. Sweet, clean, airy and uplifting, the apricot keeps the sweet pea and other flowers from becoming to sweet or cloying. The fruity aspect is almost like a honey fragrance or nectar facet, which creates a rich and indulgent blend. I've tried countless apricot blends, and they have never worked until this one. Perhaps it's the way the spicy lily and carnation create a perfect balance. A stroll through a wild, bewitching flower garden with rose colored glasses and butterfly wings.

    Blackcurrant Sufganiyot

This smells EXACTLY like the jelly note in Snake Oil Jelly Donut. If you missed that one, GRAB this and layer with Snake Oil. I get alot of cheesecake upfront too that I didn't get from the other Sufganiyot's.

    Frostbitten Snake Oil

Not sure what happened with my bottle, but this was straight up Snow White on me. I kept waiting around for the spicy snake oil to show up but it was all fairy land and forest. Tested it against my bottle of Snow White and they are pretty much identical.

    Sugar Plum Incense Atmosphere Spray

This reminds me of Planet K, a local head shop that's been around forever. They were always burning strawberry incense and it smelled so much like this, red, smoky and light hearted. It's really sugared and I get a tiny bit of myrrh in there, adding a bit of resinous base. Bright, girly and pretty, and so much like the 'poof' that comes out of a red candy bag just when you open it.

    2004: Paper Phoenix

Sugared crystal lemon comes out for me, floating to the top from Dorian's lavender white tea. It almost makes my mouth water its so tart. For some reason Kumiho comes to mind and I wore that everyday a decade ago. I'm also getting Antique Lace and a delicate spice in the background. Really, the lavender here is the star of the show. It literally sparkles and glistens and pushes this into AMAZING UNICORN territory. This has certainly become my new scent obsession and somebody just grabbed 2 backup bottles.

    Krampus Lace

Gorgeous bottle sniff, and just after application the honey amps quite a bit and verges on becoming soapy, but the tobacco and red musk come swooping in and make a fabulous red musk and smoky tobacco finish with a tiny bit of vanilla lace peaking through. It definitely works on me, but I can see the honey or tobacco amping on some, maybe they were naughty this year

    2017: Crystal Phoenix

Strangely, this smells so much like The Antikythera Mechanism to me, that golden tobacco and wood at the start except with shaggy leather chaps. After a few minutes the leather amps and becomes most prominent taking this into completely new territory. Neither masculine or feminine, I can't stop thinking this is completely steampunk in tone, all black top hats and smoking cigars.

    2005: Leather Phoenix

Wowza, is this ever boozy like one of those nights after WAY too many gin and tonics. The bottle sniff is really good and enticing and then on the skin it goes all hard liquor on me. It's just a little bit refreshing, and I get no black leather britches which is fine by me. I could see wearing this in the summer time but you might need a designated driver.
  13. Fortunately, i've only been into a Yankee Candle store once, otherwise I suppose this Tulip candle that has been mentioned might spoil the experience. For me, bottle sniff and wet I was worried. There was an almost maple note that often times amps on me. After a few minutes, this transforms into a darkbrown sugaredwoods background, that gives the warm florals a glorious bassnote. I LOVE THIS!!!!!! WOWZA. It is extra sugary on me, all swimming around with the golden flower nectar makes me want to yodel in the Swiss mountain tops with Maria von Trapp.

    Eve's Big Apple I

These white, dewy fruits are still on the tree. Green, sweet wet floral just after application, it's lush and bright and the apple is apparent, but perfectly blended with the juicy florals. The green note reminds me of the Wild Honeysuckle SN from a few months ago, which gives this an overall brightness like peeling plump, green apples on fluffy cloud day.

    Lilith's Love Low

Starts off with a bunch of sharp, sugary lavender with some creamy notes in the background. After a few minutes, it morphs into something like rich white chocolate and butter cookies sprinkled with lavender sugar. Its an interesting mix of delicate florals along with a creaminess and almost a rose in the finish. Something about it reminds me a bit of Alice after eating WAY too many cakes, burping on champagne and rolling down a lavender hill. It's alot of fun I think, and a very pretty and girly addition to Lilith's collection.

    The Mummies of Mexico City

This one was a MUST HAVE even before I read the notes. I have been fortunate enough to have spent much time in the D.F. In fact, it is my favorite place on earth. The people, the food, the celebration, the energy and the history all stole my heart. I am not certain I will ever return back to it, but I hold all sorts of amazing memories from my time there. The resins in Mummies takes me back to standing outside the Zocolo Cathedral. The shaman with their smoking urns and skulls chanting and healing. Sweet and soft drifting ash, the frankincense glimmers like gold mixed with a laced vanilla. The woodiness really comes through after drydown, and it gets all soothing and sacred like just after the resins hit the sparking charcoal and you know the mummies down below are knocking bones cause it smells like a god's fuzzy blanket . This one is firmly imprinted in my scent memory and I keep longing for it. I must wrap myself in this beautiful shroud once again and again.

    Deserted Theater Atmosphere Spray

What a work of art. This is so transformative and evocative of the theatre. All of the notes swirl together to become something greater and so elegant, it takes my breath away with its deeply complex perfection. The darkest, red velvet curtains filled with years of bombshell perfumes and glittering makeup, the heat of bodies and candles burning, cigarettes in holders and warm, gleaming woods. I purchased this to give as a gift, but I will be going back for one, maybe two for my house before the weenies come down.

    Oil and Pitch

Wow, bottle sniff is all tar along with something I can only describe as 'grease monkey'. This is all butch-in-a-ballcap just after working under the hot engine. I don't get much amber and it just comes out gritty on my skin. I can see why this is beloved, mostly because it is so transformative, but its not even close to something I could ever wear because i'm amping all sorts of petroleum notes and longing for the resinous opoponax swirled amber. I wish I was tough enough to wear this, with undercut blue hair, destroyed boyfriend jeans and Baphomet t-shirt, but it's not meant to be.

    Lorraine Cross

If you want to drape yourself in lux red velvet, this is for you. Resinous with precious woods turned sultry from the rose, it mellows out to a calming, addictive smell. Strong and mystical, something about it seems almost illicit, like a deep, dark secret waiting to be revealed. The three original Exquisite Corpse scents are a treasure to me indeed. Precious beyond words.

    Heck on Wheels

Buttery red-velvet and a MOUNTAIN of smashed rainbow bubble gum balls. This is a righteous party in a bottle. Tipped chairs, pinata smash and chewy gum mixed in the ice cream. The finish is all musky red cake, melted candles and fuzzy confetti shakes. I might need a nap.

    Snowball Fight

Well, this takes me back to the deep snow of my childhood. Making snow ice cream with a sore throat sucking on a Halls. I never really perfected how to make snow ice cream, it always had too much vanilla extract or not enough cream.

    Storyboard: Julius Caesar

Resinous myrrh, dancing with a strong, mature red rose. I do get little wiffs of blood from it but its more juicy cherry than metallic. It is slightly clean smelling, almost soapy from the iris and a tiny drop of midnight dew. It improves for after the drydown. The resins warm up and give the florals a lovely sweetness that I can only describe as Dracula's kiss.

    The Spectral Flower Girl

Bewitching rose, the black lily adds a touch of darkness that makes me think of black satin and red lips. The baby's breath gives it sort of a vintage vibe. Very much a low throw skin-scent on me, intimate and elegant.

    Daybreak

The lavender is vanilla creamy and the coconut amps on me in the drydown. It's practically gourmand, I would love a coconut lavender desert like this. Like everyone has mentioned, this is TKO's coconut ice cream sister. I might try this at bed time and see how it compares to my usual TKO hit, but I would like this better as an atmo for my pillows and stuffie snuggles (maybe even my smelly dogs)

    Valuable, Powerful, Deserving

Fear not, oudh haters. The oudh here is opulent and a softly wooded-foresty. I suspect it is what gives this fragrance its heart, and it is exquisite. I love this one. I slathered it on last night just before my husband arrived home, and when he hugged me hello, he couldn't stop smelling me and saying how I smelled good. I seldom get that reaction, even though i'm always scented. The amber here shines for me, and the orange blossom goes all candied with a warm, slightly spicy finish. I would say this is slightly oriental in tone, and one of Lilith's greatest hits for me this year.
