~First impression~ (Worn around the neck during an active morning) This started out like a sticky sweet almondy cherry, reminded me alot of Jailbait in the beginning. Definitely cherry, not papaya or mango. Cherry. And I swear there's a bit of orange peel in there, therefore Jailbait. But then, the leather and other masculine notes rose. The throw is alright, I always slather alot anyway. Drying, it's giving me a Hollywood Babylon vibe, like a younger cousin(not a sibling). A little more sophisticated, more male. Not as gourmand, not as syrupy. But still got that sweet cherry with a bunch of really nice heavy, cuddly base notes. There's like a orange peel/almond tartness, but it does not come from the cherry component, they are separate. Two hours after application, its pretty much unchanged. A sweet fruity cherry on top of a soft masculine bed. Has maybe gotten a little bit warmer, the kind of warmth you get from soft baking spices. You notice that there are alot of layers. This is a complex blend made with perfection. Very gender neutral. It's both playful, sexy AND sophisticated and elegant. Brings me joy and a smile in my heart. Feels young and confident. Despite being a cherry-scent for me, it's not giving me the color "red", it's more like a "warm orange" colored scent. Very summery! I also need to add: This smells expensive, and modern. There's something about the scent profile that I recognise from the style of today's more high-end commercial perfume, like in the $200-500 spectrum. I'm very, very happy with this one. Even if I missed out on the mango/papaya c':

A very warm, but dry and powdery scent of fragile woods, yellow grass and dried flowers and herbs. I get some white pepper in it as well? It is very "sepia" in a melancholy and beautiful way, like an old photograph. I'm surprised that I enjoy it so much, because this is not close to my usual taste at all. I compared it with Ask the Nearest Hippie in search of the "kush"-note, but Cytherea is so dry that it made Ask the Nearest Hippie smell like Nutella :I I'm going to buy a bottle of this one.

I'm so very disappointed about this one. I really love the dusty, cologney scent in Dead Leaves, Bourbon Vanilla and Myrrh from last year, but this one toootally lacks that. Dead Leaves and Sugared Cardamom has nothing leafy or dead at all according to my nose and skin. While wet, it's a sugary sweet cardamom. And after 30 minutes, it went pure watermelon-candy?? It's not disgusting or bad in any way, but it's very, very far from what I wanted when I bought the bottle.

Slippery Poppy Tincture
Katlastrophe replied to Leopard403's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
On my skin, this is the sweetest red apple imaginable. I thought it would be a more heavy floral, but it's actually very fresh, and at the same time it's sticky sweet. -
Isaac, The Living Skeleton (2016)
Katlastrophe replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
Very dark tobacco, it's absolutely the main note in Isaac. But it's sweetened and all sexied-up with everything else. I'ts maskuline in a elegant "bad boy" way and totally gorgeous. -
This one is fantastic. I've tried a little over one hundred BPAL blends right now and Fulvous Snow is my biggest favorite so far. I don't get any snow at all, it's more of an autumn-scent for me. Warm, golden creaminess in a gender neutral/manly way. It's calm and comforting, yet elegant and a bit sexy.

This one is fantastic! I was afraid that it was going to be too dry and sour without anything more sweet in it, but it's wonderful. Dark, heavy and dry, a bit smokey. Just a tiny bit sweetness from the flowers, but it's enough. It contains a lot of my favorite notes and I'm so glad that they work so well together.

Innocence defiled. Sticky pink bubblegum and the thick, sweet scent of orange and cherry lollipops smeared over a breath of heady womanly perfume. OMG IT IS SASSAFRAS IN THIS ONE!! I've tried every BPAL with sassafras available on the homepage, and I totally adore Tombstone and SSS. I thought sassafras-bubblegum only were a Swedish thing, but it seems that I was wrong! Of course it's alot of other stuff in this one, it's very CANDY, but I'm so happy for the sassafras ;__;

I swapped myself a decant of this, and argh... It's beautiful! Sugared wood in a soft, almost vanilla-creamy, way.

I'ts fantastic! I don't have any big experience of key lime pie, so for me this is the most wonderful lime-custard-foodie. It's a low-throw and it might need some aging, however.

Okay, it's horrible. It smells like shoe cream, rose hip soup and gingerbread dough. Remembers me of an old man...

This is NOT what I suspected, so fruity! But, I don't get any plum at all. I get quince, lot of quince. wat. It gets darker and incensy drying, but the quince is still there. And then, alot of flowers, according to my nose. wtf. There is no quince, there is no flowers. Skin and nose, get your shit together...

It's a disturbing scent, it wakes feelings deep within me in a fascinating way. It's clinging and almost a bit scary. But most of all it's so, so, so beautiful. I could never imagine a scent like this before, I'm quite lost at notes since I'm new into BPAL, but the clove in this is fantastic, it's so much better than the one I've tried in GC blends. It's not "kitchen spicey" at all, it's smooth and pretty. I need a bottle, it cursed me.

Realistic lemon peel and green tea. Very green and boring.

This is a really nice perfume, it's like a little warmer and a tiny bit foodier friend to my loved Tombstone. I mostly get cedar and chocolate-powder(like the mix for hot chocolate, but almost unsweetened). I wished for more vanilla or more peppermint, but it's fine. I'ts calm, subtile and nice. It really holds on hard to my skin, I can still smell it now, after a whole day. I will keep the imp and might buy another one when I've used it up.
