Imp: Something resembling pine Wet: Something resembling pine Drydown: Smells similar to Golden Priapus to me. But maybe not as thick. Also reminds me of Dracul. Are my nose and skin way off? Overall: I like this. It's a unisex scent. It's herbal and sweet.
-
Imp: Bittersweet orange peel Wet: Bittersweet orange peel Drydown: Orange blossom. Huh? I know I don't have Dum confused with Dee...maybe my nose is broken. lol This is really bitter. I left it on and waited and waited, but to no avail. Overall: This was a no go. Way too bitter on my skin.
-
Imp: Fruity Wet: Mmmm... Grapefruit, orange, cake...smells promising. This is like Huesos de Santo on steroids. Drydown: Orange blossom and Huesos de Santo. After about 30 minutes, an overwhielming bitterness takes and ruins the scent. The wet phase was soooooo good...
-
Imp: Sandalwood Wet: Sandalwood. I'm having a hard time picking out the notes. Drydown: After a few minutes, it sweetens up. The musk is not red musk to my nose, as some posters have noted. To my nose, it's deeper and not as sharp as red musk is on me. It's closer to black musk. The leather is peaking out ever so slightly. This is getting sweeter as it sits longer on my skin. Overall: Wow! This is fabulous! It's like a leather jacket softened by years of wear drenched in vanilla musk.

Tea leaf with three mosses, green grass, a medley of herbal notes, and a drop of ginger and fig. Imp:Citrus Wet: Citrus Drydown: Citrus fruit and green herbal Overall: This started out smelling like an ordinary citrus scent. Then it got really tart and bitter. I know some posters said "warm" and "sweet". Not for me. There was no sweetness at all. This scent just didn't stand out for me.
-
Imp: Cherry candy Wet: Sour candies. My nose must be translating "almond" as "cherry" Drydown: Smells similar to the Jergen's cherry-almond lotion. Starting to get powdery. After about 45 minutes, it disappeared. Overall: I liked this, but I wish it would stick around longer than 45 minutes. Not much throw.
-
Imp: Warm floral Wet: Amber and violet Drydown: The wet stage was nice, but as it dries, it's turning into a yellow floral. There must be jasmine in this because I'm amping it like crazy. The florals have taken over. Not a hint of musk or anything else left. I feel like I'm being smothered by this scent. It's as if an invisible cloak has wrapped around me, and won't let my face out from under it to get a breath. Overall: The notes sounded so good, but this did not work for me at all.
-
Imp: Whoa! Strong astringent lavender! Wet: Lavender and herbs Drydown: Lavender and rosemary. The lavender is fine. It's the rosemary and other herbs that are too much. Overall: This one won't put me to sleep. I think it'd help me to stay awake as it is eyes/nose burning potent! Don't hold this too close to your face when sniffing from the imp/bottle.

A scent swirling with dark rage, unbridled jealousy, and murderous intent. Violet, lavender, white musk and vetiver. Imp: Smoky Wet: Smoky and something funky, can't place it. Drydown: Liquid smoke. Overall: I was disappointed with this. I like all the individual notes, but somehow, this blend went very wrong on me. I really thought I might pull this one off, as I do enjoy wearing masculine scents at times...

Imp: Fruity and green. Wet: Sweet and tart, with a green scent (like green bell pepper). Drydown: Fruity and green with a peppery note. Almost like chili powder Overall: This is an odd fruity/spicy/chili pepper scent on me. I think I'll pass.
-
Imp: Sharp wood and "perfume" Wet: Sharp and bitter woods and florals Drydown: This is sharp and head-achy. This is overwhelmingly floral. I can't really pick out any particular notes. Overall: Why do I do this to myself? Florals and I have a very rocky relationship.
-
Imp: Sugary grass Wet: Sweet and green. I think the green is from the lily. Drydown: It's very sweet, but there's a crushed flower stem note that I'm not liking. I think the jasmine is taking over. Overall: This ended up a yellow floral. Unfortunately, for me, it's head-achy.
-
Imp: Tart fruit Wet: Tart fruit, leather and sage. Drydown: I amp frankincense, and in this, it's out-shining all the other notes. After about 30 minutes, the notes have blended and mellowed. Overall: This is a nice church-incense type scent on my skin. It's nice, but I have too many that are similar to this. I don't need anymore.

... His scent is dry elm bark, amaranth, warrior’s musk, and Odin’s Nine Herbs of Power. Imp:Sharp green leaves Wet: Fresh crushed green leaves, camphor Drydown: This is very masculine. It's a heavy herbal scent. There is something subtly sweet trying to step up (must be the musk), but it's beaten back into submission by the dark herbs. There is something camphor/menthol in this, could be eucalyptus...not really sure. Overall: This is too medicinal. It's not too bitter, it's just too herb-medicine like. I must be amping the "9 herbs of power" because I'm not getting any musk. This has a lot of throw. A little bit is all you need.
-
Imp: Sweet orange syrup Wet: Sweet orange syrup and faint smoke (the good kind, like wood burning, not "liquid smoke") Drydown: I'm starting to smell the woods, and the vetiver. Okay, now it's starting to smell like fish oil. WTF? Okay, that was quick...Now it's like Crowley, but it's not going all vanilla. It's a nice murky, musky, smoky scent. Overall: I think the fish oil thing was my mind playing tricks on me. It hasn't happened again. I really like this one, but as some other posters said, it might be a tad heavy for summer. This, I think, will age nicely.

Dust, tumbleweeds, cedar, and tobacco. Imp: Cloves! Wet: Cloves and allspice! Drydown: After almost an hour, the spices calmed down and mellowed. I could finally smell some dusty wood and the blend also became sweeter. Overall: I like the drydown after an hour or so, but earlier, it's waaaaay too much clove. Don't need a bottle.
-
Skin musk and flowering sugar cane. Imp: Clean. If "clear" had a scent, this is it. Wet: A clean scent, with a hint of tartness. Drydown: It's beginning to smell like mandarin orange rind. It's very clean and crisp. Not what I expected. Then, it turned soapy (in a not so good way). Overall: It's not something I normally wear.
-
Imp: Creamy coffee Wet: Sweet cream and wood Drydown: The coffee scent is very faint. Not as strong as I'd hoped for. The scent is very faint. I'm getting light woods. Overall: I was looking forward to this one the most of the Velvets, but it let me down. The coffee just wasn't strong enough, and I never got the tobacco. Bummer.
-
Imp: Boozy strawberry candy Wet: Boozy strawberry candy Drydown: The dreaded gin note! It just doesn't work on me. (I'm looking at you Blue Fire) It somehow goes chemical-y and ends up smelling similar to 409 cleaner. The fruity/sweet notes are going waxy/plasticky on me, like it did with Floating Brain. Overall: I didn't have much faith in this one working because of the gin. Unfortunately, this is a no go for me.
-
Imp: Rum soaked cotton candy Wet: Candy and smoke Drydown: This is sweet and sharp. I have to agree with others who said that this scent reminded them of John Barleycorn. I can smell the booze, candy peanuts, cotton candy, and smoke. There's something in this that reminds me of Sticky Pillowcase. It's the slightly bitter/burnt sugar. Some have said it reminds them of Sugar Skull. Luckily, it doesn't smell similar at all (I don't like Sugar Skull). Overall: This has really great throw on me. The wafts smell like tangy, fruity candy. Yum! I wasn't sure about this one initially, but once I put it on, I knew it was a keeper!
-
Imp: Caramel covered flowers Wet: Coconut and pineapple. Very foody initially. Drydown: Coconut and pineapple with some sweet tropical flowers. After about 30 minutes, the notes have melded into a fabulous tropical island scent. Overall: This is a beautiful scent. The fruits keep the florals from taking over and becoming too heady, and the florals keep the fruits from being too foody. It does fade somewhat fast on me so I'll have to reapply often. Milo said it a few posts above, but Tiki Queen didn't work for me either. And Rangoon Riptide was too "in your face". For me, Velvet Tiki is a wonderful blend of the best components of those 2 scents.
-
Imp: Aged tequila and orange. Wet: Aged tequila and spices. Drydown: The vetiver is very strong. In this blend, my skin is interpreting the vetiver as a smoky tequila. I can smell the orange and licorice in the background. This scent is smoky, dark, and sinister. After a bit, I could smell cinnamon. Further, it becomes darker and sweeter. Overall: It reminds me of what the inside of my tequila barrel smells like. I like it, but I don't know if I want to smell that way.
-
Imp: Limes and ozone Wet: Citrusy and herbal Drydown: This is a citrusy tea scent. Very fresh. Not sweet. This smells very similar to Embalming Fluid on me. Further drydown, it went soapy on me. Overall: It's a very clean scent. Not my cup of tea.
-
Imp: Marzipan Wet: Fruity candy and marzipan Drydown: This is sweet, creamy, fruity goodness. It's absolutely amazing! It is perfectly sweet without being cloying, perfectly fruity without any particular fruit dominating, and creamy without being plasticky. Overall: Wow! It's perfection in a bottle.
-
Imp: Cherry cough syrup Wet: Cherry Luden's throat drops Drydown: The cough drops are taking on a WTF!? Stupid skin. Overall: I am bummed that none of the LE MAT scents worked on me. It seemed like everyone was loving them all except for me.
