Imp: Men's cologne Wet: Men's cologne mixed with frankincense Drydown: Men's musky cologne. Overall: This was the best of the 3 LE MAT scents, but, none the less, it wasn't working for me. I generally like masculine scents and they work well on me, especially the non-ozone type. But this one just wouldn't cooperate. This was reminiscent of a musky men's fragrance from the 70's...can't remember the name.

Imp: A clean peach scent Wet: A clean, refreshing, green, peach scent. Very crisp. Drydown: The florals become apparant. They are very well blended and are very mild. This is a very pretty, feminine scent. Overall: This is such a "sweet" scent. Not cloying sweet, but sweet as in innocent. I think the poster above said, "blushing bride". That's a perfect description of the visual of this scent. This will be great as a spring-summer scent.

Imp: Sharp lavender Wet: Lavender, woods, and tonka. Drydown: The lavender has faded quite a bit. The amber and rosewood are most prominent with a tiny bit of tonka sweetening it. Further drydown, it's beginning to smell like frankincense on me. Strange, it's not a listed note. Overall: In the drydown, it goes too sharp on me. Such a shame, as I really like the wet stage. I was hoping for a rich lavender scent.

Imp: Butter rum Wet: Butter rum and buttered popcorn Drydown: Buttery sweet coffee. I don't smell any wood. After about 10 minutes, it is going plasticky and waxy. Not good. Overall: This one just didn't do it for me. I know it's popular, but my skin doesn't mix well with this blend. I've been searching for a coffee blend that works on me...I guess the search continues...

Imp: Herbal and antiseptic Wet: Medicinal in a not so good way. Drydown: It was harsh and smelled of chemicals. Overall: I never got any of the goodness the other reviewers spoke of. I never got pear, musk, fig, nada!
-
Imp: Cypress and cinnamon candy Wet: Leather, white pepper and something smoky. Drydown: Leather and cinnamon chewing gum. The smokiness is barely detectable now. I never smelled the incense or the chamomile. Overall: It's not a bad scent. I just don't know if I want to smell like a leather jacket with cinnamon gum in the pockets.
-
Imp: Cinnamon Wet: Cinnamon Drydown: This cinnamon smells the same as Chimera on my skin, but in a higher dosage! It took about an hour to sweeten up. I never got the pine. Later, it went waxy. Boo Overall: I liked this more than I expected to, but unfortunately, it went funky at the end.
-
Imp: Astringent and lemony Wet: Citrus soap Drydown: Herbal citrus soap Overall: I never got a full dose of vetiver like the other reviewers. I don't mind vetiver, so I was a bit disappointed when I didn't get any of the dark smokiness vetiver sometimes casts. There was a slight bitterness that could have been the vetiver poking it's head out a bit. I was intrigued by the description and really looking forward to a dark leering scent, but this ended up being bitter soap.

Imp: Sweet and buttery Wet: Syrupy sweet with a hint of something bright and tart in the background, perhaps the cherry and pineapple? Drydown: This becomes a very sweet butterscotch scent on my skin. Overall: When I first applied it, it had huge throw, but it subsided within a few minutes. This is a delicious scent, but I can't see myself walking around smelling like a vat of hot butterscotch. And it would be too cloying after a while.

Wet: A sweet floral with a ginger-like note. (could be how my nose is interpreting the sandalwood) Drydown: The ginger-y note is gone. This smells of sweet and tart fruits. Later, becomes floral. Overall: This is a morpher. It's okay on my skin. It's not anything that I'll reach very often for.
-
Wet, it was a very light sweet floral. I really had to shove my nose to my skin in order to smell anything. This is very light on me. As it dried, it went plastick-y and waxy. This did not work on me.

Wet: cocoa powder. Not very sweet Drydown: I can smell the amber in the background keeping this from being overly foody. Unfortunately, after about 30 minutes, it went waxy. Boo.
-
Wet: Sweet and spicy cookie Drydown: The sweetness sort of dried up a little on the drydown. It's spicy and has a slight bitterness in the background. Could be a combo of the booziness and almond. Overall: This is so much better than Sugar Cookie 08 (I was so disappointed with it, as I love the 05 version). This was yummy sweet and spicy cookie.
-
Wet: Sweet candy floral Drydown: It smells of sweet/tart fruits. It morphs and becomes the funky bitter stone fruit. Overall: Maybe some aging will mellow it, but it morphs from a yummy wet stage to a funky drydown. I'll test it again in a few weeks.

This was a very bright yellow floral perfume. It was sharp and head-achy. On the drydown, it mellowed, but not enough for me to like it. It also went slightly soapy.

Imp: Dark musk and fruit Wet: Fruity and floral Drydown: All the notes are making an appearance and blending well. This is fruity, floral, and musky. I like the floral in this because it isn't overpowering or headache inducing. I wish the musk was stronger. Overall: This is a nice blend, but it's not wowing me. It's wearable, but I have more than enough blends that I can wear.

I Married a Vampire from Planet X
catattack replied to GypsyRoseRed's topic in Retail Exclusive Oils
Imp: A very faint citrus and musk Wet: Initially, I could barely smell this on my skin. It was a faint fruit scent, like the scent had already faded. Drydown: After it warmed up, I was able to smell a very faint leather scent. The scent never got much stronger. After about 30 minutes, it went off on my skin. I got the oily waxy smell reminiscent of the base scent of some bath/body products. Not good. I never got any spice. Overall: This was very faint on my skin. I had to stick my nose in it to smell it. I was really excited to try this from the great reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't work with my chemistry. -
Imp: Citrus fruits Wet: Orange TANG drink Drydown: Orange TANG powder. This one became stronger on the drydown than the initial wet phase. After about an hour, I'm able to smell something sweet, spicy, earthy and deep. Must be the fig. The scent really "warmed up". This is a morpher on me. Overall: This is not what I expected this scent to be like. I expected a scent called "carnal" to be something other than orange scented. Don't get me wrong, I like it enough.
-
Imp: Earthy and medicinal Wet: Woody and medicinal Drydown: I can smell the jasmine, but it's actually being smothered by the other notes, which is surprising. The drydown is a little better than the wet stage. Overall: This is a thick, heavy scent on me. It's too heavy and suffocating. The notes are not working well on my skin at all.

Polished metallic notes, glossy leather, frankincense, star anise, and thin lubricating oils. Imp: Sweet & spicy woods Wet: Sweet & spicy woods. This is very nice. A tad masculine in the wet stage. Drydown: It became a little smoky on the drydown. It smells more like something polished, but not polished wood. Maybe polished metal. But this doesn't smell metallic to me at all. I can smell a hint of leather in the background. After about 3 hours, it becomes sweeter and musky. Overall: This is a great comfort scent for me. It fades pretty quickly, so I'll have to slather, but that's okay.

Imp: Milk Moon & mint Wet: Milk Moon, mint, latex gloves Drydown: Milk Moon, fresh cut grass, latex gloves Overall: I can't get past the latex scent. If not for that, this scent would be something I would really like. Too bad.
-
Imp: sharp woods Wet: tart violets & woods. This is not a sweet powdery violet. Drydown: This scent is punchy. And I guess that's why the violets are bruised. It is sour and astringent. Overall: I don't care for this one.

Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener
catattack replied to flyingpizza's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
Imp: Sassafras Wet: Sweet sassafras and a slight paste note. Not quite rootbeer, but almost. A faint dirt note Drydown: This has not become the rootbeer float that others speak of. I don't smell any creamy or vanilla notes. This reminds me of Earth Phoenix and Fire Phoenix mixed together. Overall: I like this one. It is foody but not. It's familiar but not. It's a warming scent. I'll wear this in cooler weather. -
Imp: Strong, tart citrus shower gel Wet: Non-descript, generic citrus. Unisex Drydown: This has sweetned up a little. But it's a generic lemon candle scent. Overall: This has light throw. It's not bad, I don't think I'll wear it though.

Fox Fires on New Year's Eve at the Garment Nettle Tree at Oji
catattack replied to nikkoblue's topic in The Salon
Imp: Green leaves and incense Wet: Green, oriental incense Drydown: A floral note, (the lilac?), makes an appearance. It's soft and pale colored, not over-whelming. I also get the bamboo pulp, which is good because I like the lab's bamboo notes. There's an almost tart note. I'm not sure if it's the weeping cherry. Overall: This is a shifter on me, but I like it alot. It's got good throw, so don't slather. This will be nice year-round.
