    Lovers in a Ricefield

Wet: sweet/tart, fruity Drydown: The fruitiness is becoming creamy. Must be the rice as it's not a vanilla-cream. This is a very nice scent of stone fruits covered in cream. Then, as is the case with many "stone fruit" scents, it turned bitter. As nice as this is, it's not "wow"ing me.

    Tissue

Wet: soap Drydown: White florals and soap. This is not smelling distinctly gardenia on me. It smells clean. Like when someone walks by right after they took a shower. Overall: This isn't a bad scent. It's just not something I'd wear.

    Faustus

Imp: smells shiny and earthy at the same time. Wet: woods Drydown: Woods and something sweet. Although it seems like a contradiction, there is something "sparkly" about this scent. After several minutes, a floral note appears. It's got to be the violet because it's a "nice" floral. Not sharp like many florals are on my skin. Further drydown: This has turned into a sweet resin scent. Some scents with frankincense can become too sharp and head-achy on my skin, but this is a great blend. Not too masculine. Love the way it smells on me.

Eight Views of Actors in Their Dressing Rooms

Imp: strong yellow florals and green herbs Wet: This is a really strong scent on me. It reminds me of a "green" scented bath salt my family used to use back in the 70's and 80's phoenetically spelled "basuclin". Drydown: There's something not right about this blend on my skin. It just doesn't smell good. This is a no go for me.

    Et Lux Fuit

Bottle: sweet floral Wet: slightly sharp fruit, subtle florals. I get an image of a sunflower in my head. The sharpness begins to smooth over. The fruity note is becoming slightly sweeter. I can smell the carnation. Drydown: it morphed into a musky floral. I can smell the amber as well. After a couple of hours, I smell only the musk and amber It's not overly sweet. After another couple of hours, it has becom slightly sweeter and fruitier. Overall: I can't categorize this as floral, musk, resin-y, sweet, or fruity because it is all of those things at some point. I hadn't used this in about a year, and like it much better now than I remember. This has minimal throw, but lasts.

    Bakeneko

Bakeneko In the bottle, it's a very light tea and fruit scent. Wet, it is a fruity black tea leaf. It isn't orange, it's a non-descript fruit. On my skin, the tea is not a brewed tea, it's a dry tea. After a few minutes, it becomes dry and spicy. The fruitiness disappears. I smell cardamom with a little bit of cinnamon. It's bordering on masculine. This is a morpher. Then, after it's been on for about an hour, the amber musk makes it's appearance. Mmmm, nice. It's soft, sweet, and golden. I like all the stages of this scent, but I'm going to have to slather and reapply often.

    Hellcat

This smells fruity and foody in the imp. When I put it on, it smelled of apricot preserves and black tea with a side of hazlenuts. Huh? I don't know where I'm getting the apricot or tea. It is definitely apricot preserves. It smells tasty, but I don't know if I want to smell like this. I like the hazelnut. I don't smell almond, which is fine. Maybe the apricot is how my nose is interpreting the boozy notes in this blend...hmmm. It never gets creamy on my skin. I wish I could smell buttercream. Bummer. I think I'll let this age and see if it softens up. Right now, it's a bit sharp.

    Eisheth Zenunim

Wet, smells like peaches and honey. As it dries, the honey amps and smells rich and sweet. After a while, I smell the patchouli which keeps this from going foody. The cocoa also shows itself during the drydown. This is a sweet, warm, and glowing scent. The throw is medium.

    Marianne

Imp: Sweet, dark, dirty musk. Wet: The musk is dark and sweet. The patchouli is giving it a "dirty" note (in a good way). When wet, I don't smell anything but the musk and patchouli. Drydown: The patchouli really fades and the musk lightens up. What others have described as "bubblegum" appears. I quite like it. I can also detect a berry scent. After an hour, it is a sweet, floral musk. This is a sweet feminine scent on my skin. Overall: The throw is medium. This is a cooler/cold weather scent. I think it's too sexy for work But perfect for date night with the hubby.

    Marcilla

Wet: Sweet fruity floral. Smells nice in the bottle and right after I applied it. But within a few minutes, it becomes a really strong green floral scent. The fruitiness disappears in minutes. Drydown: It starts to smell horrible. Ack, it's like the lilac and lily are smothering me. I smell something dirty and unwashed behind the flowers. Overall: My body chemistry has destroyed this scent. Good thing it's almost faded to nothing after about 20 minutes.

    Dark Chocolate and Cherry

Stupid body chemistry! I wanted this to work, but it didn't. Imp: chemicals and cherries. Wet: Chemicals, cherries, fabric softener, and something savory (foody). Drydown: I never got the dark chocolate at all. This smells like artificial cherries (which isn't always a bad thing) and refried beans! Yes you read that right. I sniffed my hand and at first I was like, "what the heck, this smells like food". Then I realized it was Rosarito refried beans in a can. How weird is that? Overall: It just wouldn't be right walking around smelling like beans. This is definitely a no go for me.

    Rat

Oh, this is bad. I'm so disappointed that only a few WitW scents worked for me. This one, unfortunately, I'm too afraid to put on my skin. I opened the imp and sniffed...suddenly, a vision of a wet, dark-furred rat appeared in my mind. It was scurrying in those brick sewers underground. It didn't look very friendly or pleasant. I'm hoping to get the courage up to skin test this one, but I'm not sure. It smelled wet and dank and furry. I can't describe it any other way. I'll give it another try in a couple of days and update. Okay, it's over a month later, and I finally have an update... I tried it on my skin, and it was an unpleasant experience. It was so strong and biting that it felt like the scent had arms and they were wrapping around me, not in a loving embrace, but in a strong hold, and the arms wouldn't let go. I felt as though the rat was larger than life and had a hold of me and began to smother me. I'm sorry if this review gave anyone bad feelings. In real life, I quite enjoy pet rats as they're cute and friendly.

    Diwali

I am finally reviewing this over a year after I ordered it... When I first received it from the lab, I wasn't crazy about it. After a few months, I decided to sell/swap it away. Well, luckily for me, I had no takers and decided to try it out last night for kicks. I am soooooo glad that I still have it! It has aged really nicely. I remember initially thinking that this was too woody/earthy. I remember thinking it lacked sweetness. Well, for me, the ageing has allowed some of the other notes to come out. Bottle: Tart and fruity. Wet: First I smell the tartness of mango and tamarind. A faint scent of coconut meat is in there. A couple of minutes later, a floral scent is blending in. I'm not getting much spice or wood at this stage. The fruitiness is becoming slightly creamy. Drydown: The cloves begin to make an appearance, as do the woods. I smell a sharp sandalwood. It's becoming a fresh-cut-wood-and floral incense. After about 20 minutes, it is all settling down and blending. This is fruity/fresh wood/floral. It's fruity without screaming "CANDY"! Further drydown: This fades after a couple of hours into a faint floral incense. Overall: The throw is not very strong. And the scent unfortunately doesn't last on my skin, so I will be slathering and reapplying often. I'm so keeping this bottle.

    Voyeurs Among the Cherry Blossoms

Imp: sweet, light floral. Almost soap like (but in a good way) Wet: Sweet, almost powdery-floral. After a few minutes, something in this is similar to Jingo-Kogo. A lighter version of it. Drydown: This is a sweet musky floral. I am really liking this one. The soapiness has almost faded. Overall: Multiple bottle purchase. Light/medium throw.

    Hanerot Halalu

Hanerot Halalu Bottle: Sweet, creamy, fruity Wet: This is a sweet fruity scent. It smells like an orange creamsicle. Yum. After a few minutes, I smell something smooth and oily. Something that's coating the creamsicle and holding it down. Must be the beeswax/olive oil? Drydown: It is no longer distinctly orange. It's smooth, creamy and waxy, like a candle. But not in a bad way. Like the other reviewers have said, this is a natural beeswax candle. I don't smell the smoke. I put it on late afternoon, and about 5 hours later at dinner, I can still smell it and it's really nice. It hasn't gone funky. Yeah! Throw: Medium. I put this on lightly and I could still smell it from a foot away. Slathering will be unnecessary for me, which means my bottle will last longer. Overall: I regret purchasing only one bottle. This is a comforting scent. It'll soothe if you wear it when you don't feel well or are feeling a bit gloomy.

    Toad

Toad Bottle: A wet mossy scent mixed with a hint of traditional men's cologne. It reminded me of my pet treefrogs, thus I was afraid for a second that I'd made a mistake buying a bottle unsniffed. Wet: A faint cologne with a little earthiness and a bit of wet moss. This all begins to fade and a scent which I visualize as "black oil" appears. There's also a spicy/sweet tobacco scent begins to develop. Drydown: This has morphed into a spicy/peppery tobacco with a sweet musk scent in the background. There is a "tinny" metallic scent that pops it's head out now and then. The tobacco is almost leathery. Throw: This one has light throw and stays close to the skin. I'll have to slather. Overall: I like this one. This is one I'll be wearing to work. It's a gender neutral scent. I think it'll work year round on me, except on the hottest days of summer.

    Juke Joint

Wet: Earthy, bitter, dark green mint, but light at the same time. As it dries down: It starts to sweeten and lighten up alot. It's a leafy mint, like fresh mint that's been muddled. The scent continues to have a slight bitterness coming from the boozy note. Further Drydown: The mintiness fades, but a very light greeness remains, and a sweet musk scent develops. It smells almost foody. Overall: I really like this scent and am glad I have a bottle. The throw is on the lighter side and I need to slather it. I can wear this one year round.

    Bliss

In the bottle: milk chocolate with a slight tart/floral note. Wet: milk chocolate. Sweet and delicious. This is the best milk chocolate scent evah! Drydown: milk chocolate. This one does not morph on my skin. Throw: light/medium. It lasts about 3-4 hours.

    Spawn of the She-Demon

Spawn of the She-Demon In the bottle: reminds me of Smut with heavy fruit Wet: very strong dark musk. for a second, I though it was laudanum. Drydown: the musk is very strong and mixed with the mango, is very sweet and thick. Further drydown: this has mellowed after a few hours. I can still distinctly smell the musk, but the fruitiness has cleaned up and is not so syrupy. The rooibus is in the background helping to cut the thickness of the scent. The sweet fruit has finally identified itself as mango and not just sweet syrup. Throw: good throw. I don't need to slather this one. I think this will age nicely. This is a cold weather scent. I think it will be to heavy and cloying in hot weather.

    Tiki King

In the bottle: fruity coconut. Wet: bright citrus and dusty coconut. It smells delicious. It's definitely a sunny, warm weather scent. Drydown: It continues to be fruity, but the brightness mellows and allows the coconut to sweeten, and the woodiness come out. Throw: medium. I can smell it when my arms are moving around. And I did not skimp when applying. This lasts several hours on me. I wish I had bought another bottle.

    The Coil

Imp: It smells minty and clean. Awesome. Wet: It smells like a powerful green mint. Not peppermint. And there's something tart in there. Maybe the ginger? This is awesome. As it dries: The mint takes on a "warm" feel. I don't know how that could happen, but it does. It's like a hot cup of mint tea. The tartness stays up front. Further drydown: The mint is gone. Boo. The tartness is in the front and combined with the florals, it's turning into a cheap perfume scent. Why doesn't it work on me?

    Crimson Christmas

This scent does not work on me. It started out as an overwhelming pine/evergreen scent with red fruit. Didn't smell any candycanes or mint. Then as it dried down, the fruits went away and the evergreen/pine mellowed. Further drydown, a leathery/smoky scent crept up and the scent went soapy. I'm bummed that I never got even the slightest whiff of candycanes. I had hopes for this one.

    Despair

Despair This smelled like "perfume" in the bottle. On the skin, initially, it smelled of flowers with a sharp edge. After a couple of hours, it smells fresh and clean, yellow flowers and the tiniest hint of sandalwood and rose. This is a clean daytime floral scent. It is a nice unassuming scent to wear when you don't want to "offend" anyone. But I like it none the less. I'll keep this imp. (Received decant imp from forumite).

    Tombstone

Tombstone: On first sniff from the imp, I did not like it at all. It smelled like a dirty sawmill. But some gals were raving about it, so I pulled it out of storage and tried it. It was a raw wood smell mixed with grey ash at first, then it started to soften and sweeten to a white sugar and wood. Now, it's a sweet powdery scent with a hint of green leaves and cedar. I never knew I'd like cedar as a scent on me. This is much better on than in the bottle.

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

I received this imp in a swap and it sat in my drawer for at least a couple of months. I tried it today and was pleasantly surprised. By the description, I wasn't terribly thrilled about it, but when I sniffed the imp, it was really nice. It smelled slightly sweet and fruity. Once on my skin, it showed a powdery bitter side which cut the fruitiness a little and balanced it out. The only disappointment is that it's a light scent and faded quickly. It's a keeper.
