Lots of leather right away, but then the plum juice quickly comes in. This is a fun scent!

I can tell this has BPAL's fall leaves note like in A World Where There Are Octobers (a personal favorite), but this is drier and sharper - less youthful and whimsical (which makes sense since AWWTAO is an Anne Shirley inspired scent!). As it dries down, the musk, vanilla, and amber come through more. It's a very sophisticated fall scent.

Oh, this is dusky, mysterious rose - a single red rose caught in a spotlight of moonlight. Lovely.
-
Wow, I usually like the crystalline BPAL notes, but this is cold and glassy on me and borderline soapy which may be from the violet.
-
Aw, man, this gets medicinal honey on me - like honey cough drops. I much prefer Deadly Nightshade Honey for a poisonous honey.

This is the Southern Belle scent that I was looking for. New Orleans, Hell's Bells didn't quite work for me, but this is perfect. Hothouse blooms and moss with that humidness to it. I will def be slathering this on when I miss NOLA.

I got this an imp swap. I was hoping the chocolate and orange blossom would outweight my dislike of cherry. Nope, but hey, if you like cherry, this is definitely for you.
-
Oh, fruity! This is berry fruity candy with an ozone, haziness.

This is my first time trying the BPAL dragon's blood note! On me, it's a sweet floral almost like violet. As it dries the learher comes out, but I am not picking up on smoke, and then it starts to get soapy - is there violet in this? There has to be because it goes soapy.
-
This surprised me as it was quite sweet at first like a fruit tea, it gets more floral as it dries down. Surprisingly, the carnation wasn't particularly strong on me as I don't often like the spiciness of carnation.

Right off this is the BPAL moist dirt note - what you find in graveyard dirt, but this doesn't go dark - this is a BPAL dirt scent I could wear more day to day. Like several other reviewers have noted, as this dries it morphs and there's a creamy, sweet floral that lurks with the dirt.

Right off, this is licorice/anise on me, which is very tempting to wash off...but if I wait it out it gets woodsier and prettier, but I hate licorice. I read some of the other views and one other person got the licorice at first, so maybe I found my skin chemistry twin.

On first smell, I actually liked the rum in this, and it definitely has a note of perversion to it. Well done, BPAL, this one shall go in my sexy collection. Double post - mods please remove!

Usually, these notes work on me, but this was all soapy florals on me. What a bummer, I was very excited for this one.

BPAL's champagne note is like catnip for me! Sometimes it can go to crystalline on me, but the amber and vanilla really warm this up, and I am noticing that white patchouli is an okay patchouli on me. The rose is there, subtle, but still there, so this is pretty much all my favorite notes and surprise, white patchouli that works on me. Got this as a frimp in a swap.

Well, this was just soapy violets on me.
-
I thought I was making it up, but since other reviews have mentioned licorice or anise, I am not the only one! Licorice-y scents are death notes for me so this is a definite no.

In the bottle and wet, this is rose with crystalline sharpness, but it almost immediately as it dries down, the coconut starts dancing about. The drier it gets the more the orris comes out, and it does start to border on powdery, but I don't really mind that as this is overall coconut rose which are two of my favorites, and BPAL has, unsurprisingly, made these two work beautifully together. I love rose and love alternating my scents seasonally, so I think this is a summer rose with the coconut or when it's winter, and I need some tropical brightness.

One of the first surprises I learned when I joined BPAL was I like dirt smells. Ever since, I have been trying to get my hand on any of them. Deep in Earth is an unkempt cemetery, overgrown with wild rose and mosses, swirling in mist, damp, with cracked and tumbling tombstones. When I wear it, I want to write a gothic novel, or I want to run outside when it is overcast, and a bit dreary. This doesn't really morph on me, I have been wearing it for over two hours now, and it is still swirling around me like fresh, upturned earth, ready for a burial. Closer to the skin, I can tell it is has softened ever so slightly, the rose geranium having become more prominent, but this is a perfect scent for dirt lovers. While this is definitely a moist soil scent, it is not aquatic on me like it is for some other reviewers.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

Finally got my hands on an imp of Juke Joint and really liked it. My guy looooves bourbon so not only did he want to wear it, too, but he also loved it on me. He likes a lot of the foodie scents, too! -
When wet this is beautiful fresh cut, dewy flowers with a sprig of mint. As it dries, the mine comes out more. I think I will revisit this in spring. Most mints are more summery for me, but this is definitely a spring mint since it is more about the florals and less about the mint.
-
I thought this was mint at first, but that's actually the juniper (and probably me testing a lot of things!), but overall this is just a fascinating scent with so many interesting notes that don't compete with one another, but definitely give the nose an experience - all rounded out by some woodsy notes.
-
Oh my, this is fruit pastry goodness! As it dries down, it gets a little spicier, but then the spices mellow out and the fruit comes back in, and it eventually all mellows out to fruit pastry with baking spices. I couldn't find a lot of rose in this though.
-
Oh my, poisonous honey. I love it. Sharp in the bottle, but the honey comes out when wet on my skin, but as it dries down the nightshade sneaks in and balances out the sweet honey. This is such a lovely balance of sweet and malice.

Wow, minty mint mint from the pennyroyal. I don't pick up a lot of the other scents in this, but it might be that my skin amps pennyroyal as I have tried a few other scents with pennyroyal and it is just screeching mint on me. I can't really get past that to anything else.
