    Pile Of Fallen Leaves

Hm, I figured this would be a hit for me since I usually love the weenies dead leaves, but this one isn't my cup of tea. I guess I prefer my leaves deader.

    Nabby Gardner's Holiday Globules

There's something in the back of this, I don't enjoy, maybe it's the ozone, I dunno, but I sniff it and I enjoy the vibrant fruitiness upfront, then I'm like ugh no.

    Iridescent Pastel Basket Grass

This is all sorts of fun! Bright citrus - I get what is giving the impression of plastic, but it's not plastic...if that makes any sense.

    Cthulhu

I got this as a frimp in a swap. I have learned that I really like sea scents, but I am super particular about them - most of them I enjoy the scent of, but won't wear as a perfume. This is one of them because it's all sea to me. It reminds me of the sea spray drawer satchets I would buy when I went to the beach during the summer as a kid. I loved the reminder of my visit.

    Beaver Moon 2011

OMG, it's foody lavender heaven. And, and...minty, there's something almost minty here. I have no idea where that is coming from, but oh this is still lovely and weird. The minty mellows out quickly as the honey moves in. It is undeniably cheesecake throughout.
  6. "It's fine." That is how I feel about this scent, even though this pretty much tics off most my yeses. It is most certainly ethereal and dreamy, but I feel there are several BPALs that do this, but better - if that makes any sense.

    White Rose

This smells like if I combined Dorian and Roses, Pearls, Diamonds, which means I LOVE IT! I got this as an imp in a swap and would looooove to layer it with red rose if I can ever find it!

    The Virgin and the Unicorn

Wear this when you are in the darkest parts of winter and anticipating spring. It's pale and hopeful - the greenery of new growth just barely peaking out from the flowers. Very appropriate for Imbolc.
  9. I am not too familiar with poppies, this is bright, slightly citrus with darker fruits, a touch of smoke, I think. I do feel that sort of wintery coolness - it's sparkly, like the citrus on the dark fruits with swirling smoke. I am intrigued.

    The First Rose

Very true to its name - a pale pink rosebud, that's a little dewy. No green to it, which I usually prefer, to keep it from going too perfumey which this one does. Not for me, but still a true pink rosebud.
  11. I thought this was a beeswax scent before I reread the description and realized it was honey! Maybe it's the waxy magnolia that makes it more beeswax than honey to me. Either way, it's gorgeous, it reminds me of the lupers, but without a sort of foodie element.

    A Dusty Moth

Wet, this was a bit more pungent perfumey for me, but once it dried down - oh, boy - it's dusty and sooty florals, having afternoon black tea in a dusty room with a slowly dying fire in the fireplace. Not sure if I need a bottle, but I am leaning towards it right now.

    Dead Leaves and Lavender Buds

Is this an assertive lavender?! You bet, and I love her. Technically, the lavender in here is actually of a softer variety because the dead leaves amp the herbaceous qualities of the lavender. I kept finding myself lathering this one all fall and am still debating buying a back-up bottle. If you like herby lavenders, this is a must.

    Graveyard Dirt

I have two graveyard dirts: one from 2008 and one from 2016. Both are very similar, but the newer one stays closer to the skin, while the aged one is more pungent. I can't wait to try those dirty scents with some other more innocent BPALs!

    Nasty Woman

Nasty Woman: black fig and patchouli, filthy bourbon vanilla, honeyed amber oud, and loukhoum. Hello, patch! I thought I hated patch, even considering it a death note, but BPAL has taught me it's just really in combination with others that I may or may not like patch. Generally, black patch is a no, but this close for me, probably because bourbon vanilla. There's the general spirit of the scent which means so much to me, but I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like the scent overall. I don't see myself wearing it too much, so I am going to see if my patch loving friend wants it first. If she wants it, yay good home from someone who will appreciate it, if not, I may decide to keep it and see how often the mood strikes.

    Apple I

For an apple scent, this is a lot of softer than I anticipated. Usually, the apples are so juicy or biting that they overwhelm me. When wet this one is similar, but as it dries the hay, oats, and cream come out more, they soften it and despite the cream give the usually juicy red apple, a dustier quality. I think I may have found an apple that works for me!

    Tavern of Hell

Maybe I amp absinthe...at first this smelled like ylang ylang, which I tend to not like, with some other stuff, but then the licorice qualities of the absinthe came out. It could also be I am just super sensitive to it, becauase licorice. There's definitely coriander, but it smells more like a savory dish than a scent I want to wear.

    Shoggoth

Oy, that is some citrus. Wet this is just lime and lemongrass on me. It dies down a bit, but is still just overwhelming citrus on me. There's some traces of other stuff, but it is faint.

    Inferno

I got this as a frimp with a BPTP order, so it is not one I would usually pick: cinnamon and bitter almond are usually big noes for me. As they are in this scent, but the neroli helps add a lighter touch to it.

    Lyonesse

This has a seaside quality, but it doesn't scream sea scent - I suppose the lily and vanilla negate that. I think I would actually like it more sea like.

    Rapture

I thought this might have ginger and jasmine in at first because the mandarin with the spiciness of the other notes created this spicy, bright scent, and the jasmine is more subtle since it is night-blooming. Very pretty, but definitely has that firey quality to it.

    Anathema

DEATH, DEATH NOTES!!!! I got this as a frimp, not voluntarily which means I am obligated to test it. Though my dislike of vetiver is so high, that I actually appreciate the honeysuckle, a scent i usually dislike, in this scent because it's not vetiver.

    Imp

Whew, lot's of peachy throw right off the bat. I don't like peach on me too much, but I do really like the way the peach and patch interact. Not really for me, but I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like peach, amber, and patch interacting together.

    Anteros

Holy begamot and patch! Then the saffron starts coming up and confirms I am eh about saffron, but it settles down, and I can't believe how these notes all work together so well. it's Beth's magic, of course, but wow, totally unexpected.

    Dragon's Heart

Maybe its the musk, but this isn't as fruity on me as I anticipated, Dragon's blood tends to smell like violets on me, so it has a certain clean quality that surprisingly works well with the musks and fruit. Dragon's blood resin isn't my thing, but this is probably one i like more than most of the dragon's blood based scents that I have tried.
