Getting white musk for sure, and maybe a touch of dry, astringent lavender. It reminds me vaguely of Ode on Melancholy wet. I get that dusty herbal quality of chamomile as well. I love, jasmine, but not sure I get any here. Dry it's a dusty soft sort of herbal, but there is something high pitched and astringent that lingers on me.

    Edible Panties Hair Gloss

Scents like cherry and strawberry generally are too sweet for me, and in the vial I thought this was going to be no exception. However when sprayed he cherry took on more of its life-like qualities, sweet but with a hint of bitterness. The sugar is tempered somewhat and the peppercorn adds a perfumey edge. Still not quite me, but surprisingly complex.

Very sweet wet, made me think of a orange blossom bubblegum. As it sits for minute the rose starts to come out, and I get honey with a bit more depth rather than just overwhelming sweetness. Dry it softens considerably, being mostly soft, dusty sandalwood with a haze of sweet florals around it.

    L'Essence de L'Engouement Hair Gloss

Really loving the deep, rich vanilla in this. Not generally a fan of strawberry, but this is really pleasant. Definitely more candy than actual fruit but not weirdly artificial. I agree with Pixie-elf, it's like a grown up Strawberry Shortcake

    Discarded Silks Atmosphere Spray

A really beautiful, soft atmo. So many flowers but none of them overwhelming, just like strolling through a garden in full bloom. I can definitely pick out some sweet pea, and the cool, airiness of the orchid. There is something that gives a clean, fresh touch as well.

Honey and White Carnation Bath Oil

Such a fantastic rich honey! The carnation is really spicy in this one, and balances the sweetness very nicely.

    Sacred Talisman Bath Oil

I too am getting a bit of a honey floral incense vibe, but not burning incense more that sweet, sort of powdery smell of the stick. The wildflower honey is rich and sweet and exactly what I hoped for. We have a lot of broomflower here (gorse) and I'm getting that sweet-coconutty floral scent. It mixes well with the gardenia, and the scent doesn't go too tropical or heady. Iris/orris doesn't generally do well on my skin, but here it is just a soft powdery (in a nice way) touch.

Ooof I love this! The honey musk is gorgeous, rich and creamy in the way beeswax is and not overly sweet. The green tea is fabulous, a lot green teas in perfume are bright and citrus-y, which is great at times but sometimes I crave the deeper, warmer true-to-life scent. This is much more the latter. Maybe the blackberry leaf helps it out? There is a light sweet almost softly floral scent in the background, mysterious and hard to place. Very fae.

    Unicorn Junk

Very cozy, warm pillowy marshmallow coconut scent. Not too sweet or tropical. I get just a tiny bit of cedar and creamy lilac at the end. Dreamy scent.

    Amsterdam

Fresh this is very sweet, clean, and watery, smells a bit like the plumeria in Dirty. As it dries it becomes more about the water, darker and the slightest bit salty. Lots of grassy greens notes with a refreshing bitterness. Gets a bit intense for a moment, almost soapy. As it settles further it lightens up a bit, gets breezier with some light springy florals.

Le Coucher de la Mariée Hair Gloss

The vanilla is so billowy and gorgeous, reminds me a bit of the one in the recent Antique Lace. I don't get impressions of smoke but I do get a bit a freshness from moss, and I want to say I get a bit of soft sandalwood and bergamont? There is certainly something deep and sophisticated beneath the vanilla, which is like PrinceofcatS said - a veil overtop it all. Had a good, but gentle throw on me all day.

    Mitral Valve

The first note that hits me is the lavender, it is dry, airy and herbal like the one in Waiting. The blue musk is fresh, clean like just after rainfall.I think the juniper is contributing to the fresh herbal scent but I can't pin it. The hops creeps in more, green and herbal and just a touch bitter. The spicy carnation and sweet benzoin become more prominent as it dries. Dry everything is really well blended. A soothing, airy herbal scent.

Tale of the Brushwood Fence Atmosphere Spray

This is the grassy springtime atmo I've always wanted! This smells like a sunlight meadow, the grass and clover being the primary scents, with the bamboo being a really fresh, sort juicy green. Spraying this around my home is instant springtime cheer.

    Basket of Abalone

Oooh sharp and bright citrus (grapefruit most apparent to me) but not too sour, with the rosy kick of pepper. The salty seafoam and ambergris is a really interesting counterpart. It's like smelling the sea air while cutting up a grapefruit.
  15. In the bottle I get the ink very distinctly, dark and smooth and a bit peppery. Like a deep dark resin and the smoothest perfumiest oudh. On my skin the rose comes out, to me it smells like a dried pink rose. The moss is light, fresh. The whole effect is almost papery, but maybe my mind is thinking of the ink and is going to books. Very soft and romantic.

    Caressing the Gilded Lily

Something about this wet reminded me a lot of 51, and airy juicy green floral vaguely melony. Perhaps the melon blossom note is related to the honeydew note? As it dries it becomes very much about the lily and tea, very fresh. There is some brightness from the bergamot and the green fruity-floral that I think is the melon blossom wafts about.

    Hag Grey Hair Gloss

Ambergris accord and bleached woods with white tobacco. The ambergris is definitely front and center in this one. So if that is a love note for you, grab this.Now. This is beautifully sweet, musky, and warm. It's that nice almost salty skin scent. I do not get much of the bleached woods, and just a hint of warm tobacco. It's a dry scent, but not dusty. It is absolutely gorgeous and it has some nice throw and wear length. This is the most beautiful smelling hag imaginable.

    Gingerbread Tobacco

Deep warm gingerbread, brown sugary and softly spicy like the cookie rather than juicy fresh ginger. Beautiful caramelized chewy tobacco. A winning combo.

How do YOU layer with single notes?

When I layer with single notes Generally I am trying to enhance something already in the blend (not necessarily a specific note, could just be its fruitiness or something). For example I will use Black Pomegranate SN to Mme Moriarty to enhance the deep red fruitiness or Vanilla Orchid SN to Zorya Polunochnaya to add another layer of ethereal white floral. Another one I like is Snake Oil and Bulgarian Tobacco SN, even though I don't think there is tobacco in SO, it adds to that deep syrupy warm vibe it has. Though sometimes I layer to add a whole new element to a scent like Black Pomegranate with Haunted

    An Encampment of Shepherds

Normally I'm not drawn to dirt/earthy scents but the clay in here is very gentle and pretty. The rose tobacco smells like a strong dried rose with just a bit of cologne-y tobacco underneath.

Jupiter Nourished by the Goat Amalthea

I got some delicious honeyed, buttery goat milk and then plastic-y bubblegum? Chemistry fail!

    Pumpkin Tobacco

Mmm definitely sweeter than the atmosphere spray, and with no spice. Just buttery pumpkin and chewy tobacco.

    Moscow

When I first applied I got a blast of fresh floral that I thought was hyacinth but looking at the notes must have been the citrus combining with the jasmine and lily. As it settles the headiness of the jasmine becomes more apparent, and the spiciness of the carnation and green and pollen of the lily come out. The only floral I can't find is the rose. I'm having a hard time picking out the amber and musk, but it must just be part of the perfuminess. The bergamot and tangerine are beautiful bright elements, smells like a sunny spring garden walk.

    Sign of Sekkusu Hair Gloss

Really rich, syrupy vanilla tobacco. I think all the resins contribute to this thick dark feeling. Cozy.

    Three Couples Hair Gloss

Really gorgeous softly fruity blend. The sandalwood-vanilla combo dominates and the fig just floats around it.
