I get mostly a gorgeous, grown up rose cotton candy. It is sugared (but not overly sweet like the body sprays of my youth) and has a wispy/powder texture that evokes spun sugar with a rosy haze around it. The remains the dominant aspect of the scent, with lavender coming out more on the skin. A deep sniff reveals the spicy, warm SO base, which comes through more after an hour or so. Gorgeous!

In the imp I get bright red wine and patchouli- a little earthy but not super gnarly. On my skin it's pretty much the same but a little floral. I don't get any smoke or leather.

This ends up as a much drier, dirtier, less sweet Mme. Moriarty. The tobacco is quite dry on me, and the red oudh very present, making a woody incense-like scent the base, with a dirty, earthy quality. The next notes I get are the red musk and plum, making that red Mme. Moriarty association. It gets a tiny bit sweeter as it dries and a little smoother. Really pretty but Mme. Moriarty works better on me.

This smells like banana taffy and a pina colada in the imp. On my skin I get lots of pineapple and coconut with maybe a tiny bit of apple behind it. It's juicy but also kind of musky. I think the creaminess of the coconut helps not be too sweet. Luckily I don't get much banana. Settled it's still mostly pineapple and coconut and I think I just get a tiny bit of chili pepper heat. This is actually quite nice and I could totally see myself wearing it poolside/to the beach.

In the decant I mostly get what smells like warm honey and incense, and a bit of dried fruit. On my skin the honey gets creamier and the incense a little more smoky/powdery. The florals start to come out as well, but I can only identity rose, but I also get a creamier white floral.

Starts off as a very fresh rain-soaked grass scent. Almost juicy in its greenness. It's breezy. As it sits I get more of the sage, making a bit drier and herbal, but still dewy. This is will be my go-to when the grey of winter starts weighing on me too heavily.

Such a fun blend! I get a bunch of buttery popcorn at first sniff - such a fun note that I've never tried for some reason. Settled on the skin I get Dorian and beeswax first and foremost, that delicious vanilla black tea but with a honey sweet waxiness that I'm loving, with some lavender over the top. The SO could be adding to the richness of the vanilla-honey sweetness going on, but I can't pick it out specifically but I think it's lending some more body to the blend. The dry woodiness of the oak and the saltiness of the popcorn help keep the sweetness in check.

This ends up being a dark, slightly spiced black musk incense on me. I get a bit of dark vegetal greeness, but unfortunately no amber on me. It's a cool scent, but not really me.

This makes me think of fae things and moonlight. In the bottle it's all fluffy/airy lavender to me, but on the skin becomes more about the tuberose. The tuberose is sweet, smooth, and ethereal. The sweetness fades a bit as it sits, and the airy lavender and moss come in. It adds a cool greenish tone. The white musk is very soft. The whole effect is soft, cool, sweet, and ethereal.

At first this is pure Christmas tree pine, sweet with that mentholated air like cold wind. I forgot what the rest of the notes were when testing so I was interested to see it develop. It got a bit warmer and muskier, and the sweetness shifted to a different kind, more distinctly vanilla. After it dries I get a pretty recognisably Dorian base, very heavy on the vanilla tea. The moss and pine have faded back but not disappeared but have added a really cool balsamic note to the Dorian. It's hard to describe how well they blend, but it really works. This is one of my all time favorites from the Liliths.

On my skin this smelled like velvety rose and cherries, with bit of grape that tried to poke out but got stomped on by cherries. Very syrupy. Unfortunately DBR makes this rose a no go for me!

Gorgeous! In the diluted form, or maybe it's the heat of the bath, but I get more vanilla in this form. Also I swear I get a tiny bit of coconut? It's Snake Oil but the richness is cut slightly, which is good for this format. The notes have different nuances, it feels a bit foodier, and the patch is chewier and I feel like I get more of the resins. Absolutely delightful for a soak.

Very fresh clean scent on and in the bottle. As it sits on the skin I get this super fluffy cotton scent, like a freshly laundered lace. The tea is very subtle on me, I get whiffs of green and black tea with the jasmine and roasty notes of oolong coming out very weakly as it lingers on the skin. But the fluffy cotton impresses me so much, it's not as intensely of clean/soapy scent of Boober or Dirty but there are light elements of that there.

I get all wine up front. In the bottle it's almost juicy red and if I sniff deeply I swear I even get a bit of blackberry. There is a bit of incense and something a bit floury. On my skin the incense is the main body of the scent, with softer threads of wine around it. I agree there is a sort of vanilla component to the scent that I can't quite place, but it's incredibly beautiful. I think I get a bit of a flour note, not quite bread but a bit wheaty, but I can't tell if I'm just imagining it. Dark and lovely without being heavy, this is one of my new favorites.

Starts off as a syrupy cherry-almond. As it dries the almond gets less sweet and more warm, nutty facets with soft musky note around the edges. As it dries it feels more like incense, maybe sandalwood? There is some rose and spice too. In summary, a spicy, rosy, almondy, soft incense. This one almost feels like a dark counterpart to Morocco.

This a very bright floral/herbal blend. Not in a citrus way but there is a lightness and smooth greenness to the blend that does make me think of water. I have a hard time picking out notes in this one except lavender. My guy said it smells like a field of wildflowers. Very soothing scent. Absorbs fantastically, but has great glide for massage as always.

Another who has not tried the original Silkybat- but this is an absolutely beautiful sweet patch. It's very smooth, and the spices are not overpowering it. I see this pairing beautifully with a number of scents.

Black Cherry Apricot Gløgg and Sweet Incense
roseus replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Retail Exclusive Oils
As soon as I open the imp cherry just starts wafting out. A lot of these notes sound wonderful but cherry isn't my thing and it's all cherry before it even gets near my skin. Luckily the apricot really kicks into gear and balances with the cherry on wet. There is hit of booze and spice behind it and it smells like a Christmas market. I am actually quite pleasantly surprised by this as it becomes a nice mulled wine scent and I get just a hint of what seems like cherry brandy and it doesn't take over. -
This starts off as a super red musky wine with an incensey note I think must be the oudh and myrrh. There's a really sweet fruity stage probably due to the honey in the middle, but it darkens again. I get hints of spice but not much, it's mostly a deep musky wine incense.

In the imp this is a bold, sweet, almost juicy floral tea- though not quite sure what's giving that fruity quality. The rooibois is so true to life, a bit sweet and nutty. The honey and beeswax meld with it so beautifully, making a really rich warm scent that has earthier sweetness. The pink pepper is super floral to me in this blend, giving a vaguely rosy air to the blend.

In the imp this smells a lot like a softer sweeter Lightning to me. Lighter on the ozone, with a good dose of sweetened citrus. Flat Sprite but make it perfume. (In a good way!) On my skin I get mostly church incense, a good dose of frankincense. This blend is soooo pretty. A bit on the sweeter side with that beautiful slightly powdery effect. I get just a tiny bit of a clean lift from the ozone and citrus behind it. It's overall pretty soft on my skin, and I think a clean enough type that it could be good for work.

Sweet black coffee in the imp, has a beautiful cacao undertone. On my skin the musky ambrette really blooms and this become very perfumey coffee. It has a really nostalgic effect on me, everything becomes sepia toned. There's something so rich and elegant about this combination. Great throw on me, but in a soft way. This will be a bottle in the near future.

Mmmm musky, almost heady roses. There's something a bit syrupy about it too. This is definitely a va-va-voom regal scent.

SO sugary! Sniffing in the imp my guy said "watermelon candy" and I hate him for it because that's what I smell now too. It's a very bright sweet scent, I was expecting something darker and spicier. On my skin it's a sweet, white floral (not heady at all) with sweet, smooth tobacco underneath. If I sniff very deeply I get some dry cinnamon. So comforting, and so unexpected. I really love this. -
Very chocolate-y in the imp along with vanilla and juicy fruity greenness. On my skin this really smooths out to a quiet fruity chocolate scent, but it's hard to pick out the fruit notes specifically. The throw is low on me. I think I'd like this in a candle.
