Such a smooth beautiful blend. Softly sweet, smooth, decadent woods and a bit of musk. Everything is very well blended, I can barely pull out the rosewood and lavender.
-
Pine and eucalyptus, dark green and icy. Sweet in an herbal way.

This is one of the most unique scents I have ever tried. The most true to life non-foresty outdoorsy scent I've encountered. Dry desert brush, a touch sweet, a touch green, a touch smoky. Sort of herbal.

Fresh zingy green dominates this scent, I just get the tiniest bit of warm myrrh and amber underneath.
-
Very dry, and salty. But also smells like fog. A very grey, vague scent. Smells like rain hitting hot pavement.

The super sweet super buttery butterscotch seemed like it would be a little too intense on my skin at first, but then it gave way to a a beautiful caramelized tobacco with just a hint of butteriness.
-
I wasn't expecting to get any of the vanilla buttercream with how rich and fudgey this is in the bottle! But they balance quite well on my skin, I get the vanilla quite strongly under the chocolate which lightens up from fudge to more a chocolate buttercream. Delicious.

Unf golden sweet patchouli, the smooth sweet patch I love. No stale cardboard in sight. This smells like the dusky golden light of a satisfying sunset.

This smells like a soft creamy rootbeer on me. For some reason the spices are going sarsaparilla on me, but I take no issue. Absolutely lovely!

I get syrupy rum in the initial application with some spices making me momentarily think of Spiced Rum Buttercream Coffee scent. Then it is sweet caramel and spices and vetiver? Smoky vetiver and I get a bit of the gnarly patchouli that has been leaning stale cardboard on me. This isn't looking good folks. Eventually the smokiness and patch back and the spiced toffee coffee becomes more apparent. This is an edgy spiced coffee on me. I will see how it works on my guy.

This reminds me a great deal of Obatala, the coconut meat seems to be similar smooth and natural, it is other notes that make it a great deal sweeter. The honey is most distinct to me, and the blend pushes more gourmand as it dries.

Initially the lily and cedarwood combine rather sharply, but luckily they are quickly smoothed out by the other notes. Fresh yet powdery, and grounded by the woods this makes me think of a Georgian parlor.

Mmm the blueberry is just beautiful in this, I would describe it as dried as it isn't in your face juicy or jammy. I think its sweetness is balanced by the tartness of the blackcurrant, and the flowers and musk round out the scent beautifully. Very fresh and happy.

Gorgeous sugary floral blend. While I get distinct lily and rose here and there the sweet pea, carnation, and peony are strongest on me. It ends up like High Strung Daisies with sweet pea and peony on me.
-
This is really beautifully. Softly smoky carnation over soft hay. Unfortunately it fades within minutes on me.

Wow the honeycrisp apple is so accurate and specific. Crisp and a smidge tart, almost floral fruitiness. Beautifully sugared with some creaminess from the milk.

Suggestions for layering with Vanilla Orchid?
roseus replied to semuelle77's topic in Recommendations
I like layering it with ethereal vanillas like Zorya P. and Ava. Also delicate florals like Aeval (Ressurected). I haven't tried but I could also see pairing it with ambergris forward scents like Diamond Star -
For me this is a rose and wine incense, I don't get any pear or much clove after it dries. In the family of Obsidian Widow but more incensy and without the patch.
-
In the imp this reminded me a great deal of Kumiho. On the skin is becomes bit less zingy, the green tea a bit warmer and the ginger a bit lighter. The bourbon and incense are hard to pick out specifically but make a very sleek and polished base. This makes me think of a Jo Malone fragrance

This is very patch forward for me, a very rough one. Right after that is the smoked pumpkin and amber. Overall very earthy. A great non foodie pumpkin.

Oh man this made my eyes roll back into my head. Beautiful sugary guava really rich in the sweetness with the nectar with a beautiful floral element. Smells like vacation. Will pair beautifully with Drag on a Slime!

At first this is all caramel and clove on me, making me think of my mother's molasses cookies (which have a good dose of clove). As it wears I get a bit of saffron and smoke and the blend lightens up on it's heavy sweetness but I can't pick out the peppers specifically.

This is stunning. Started off more atmospheric, dry grasses and hay with what smelled to me like chamomile and a touch of honey. I think that warm sweet honey scent was the amber which got stronger as it dried. It goes more floral as well and the grasses become a soft rustling. Very evocative of early autumn.

Starts of inky and syrupy on me, then goes quite sour and musky. A miss for my chemistry.

This smells just like pumpkin pie filling to me. Buttery, creamy, and softly spicy pumpkin with a hint of caramel.
