    Hunter's Moon 2024

In the bottle the pumpkin incense really leaps out. Very autumnal spicy amber. Wet it becomes more musky, with a bit of earthy patch. As it dries down the spice really fades, just sort of gently warming the blend. Mostly amber, musk, and patch with a hint of bergamot brightening things slightly. It's a low, fuzzy sort but with surprising throw.

Hunter’s Moon: Coffee Bean and Incense Hair Gloss

Sweet incense and coffee! I'm having a hard time placing what kind of incense(s) specifically, there's a dark sort of syrupy sweetness that could be myrrh but also a vanillic thing going on that makes me think of benzoin. The overall effect is a rich, sweet coffee but not super gourmand.

Harvest Moon: Corn Husk and Nutmeg

On me the nutmeg is the more forward note, with sweet cornmeal-y note backing it up. As it wears it balances out more. I have a hard time describing the scent of nutmeg, sort of woody and sweet. Very comforting!

    Dyan Moon

This reminds me a lot of Ode on Melancholy, cool-toned soft musky florals. I get mostly rose and wisteria. Soft, floaty, romantic.

    Indescribable Solemnity and Fear

Oh hello! Jammy rose and wine up front, with beautiful resins coming in as it dries. I can just detect the slightly effervescent labdanum in the dry down but the rest just blend in seamlessly. Opulent and romantic. Backup bottle worthy for me, which is rare these days!

    Harvest Moon 2024

Earthy in the bottle, but the apple really blooms on my skin. As it settles it's a nice balance between earthy patchouli and oats (with just a touch of soil) and soft, spiced apple. A warm, cozy, essence-of-autumn scent.

    Lavender Silk Sheet Ghost

Beautiful airy lavender and syrupy labdanum in the bottle. On my skin it is darker, more incensey with a slight clean edge (wondering if white musk is part of the 'silk'). The labdanum is deliciously chewy, cola-like indeed.

    Guttering Candle

Lightly smoky candle wax. Just like a blown-out candle.

    Gelt-Smeared Dreidel

Cocoa and cedar! Dry, golden, and comforting.

    The Serpent in the Carnations

Very spicy Snake Oil at first, wet the allspice really leaps off my skin. As it dries the clove and allspice pull back a little and I get more carnation. Beautiful!

    Ceanothus Silkmoth

Wet the orange and jasmine have a sort of (very pleasant) tug-of-war. Very summery and bright at this stage. The orange gets less juicy, more zesty as it dries and the jasmine pulls back a bit as well. The vanilla peaks out, but the rest of the notes sort of blend as a nice woody base for the orange and jasmine to dance on. Sun-dappled.

    The Isles of Demons

Lush, damp greenness. I'm getting a sweet floral that I totally recognise but cannot place and it is driving me crazy. I swear I'm getting a bit of cinnamon too. Humid jungle sort of scent.

    Prince Lir

On me this is a gorgeous cloud of vanilla and ambergris streaked with bright citrus. I get hints of the basil and juniper adding some herbal notes but they are indistinct, blurred by the fougere and ambergris.

    Frugiferas Auruis Aestas

Lots of soft golden hay with crisp apple and sweet, soft cinnamon (to me it smells like Ceylon cinnamon not cassia). Warm, cozy, and homey. It's sort of toeing the line between atmospheric and foodie on me.

    The King's Daughter

I thought the watermelon and sweet pea would make this scent too sweet and pink for my tastes but this has a more silvery-purple vibe. On me it is mostly lilac musk and sandalwood/the pale woods with just a bit of oakmoss and fruity sweetness from the watermelon and sweet pea. It's elegant and serene but the sweet pea and watermelon add just a hint of playfulness.

    Sturgeon Moon: Kelp and Driftwood

This smells like my memory of R'lyeh, though it has been sometime since I tested that. Deep, dark salty waters. Very salty, and has a dark coldness to it.

Cat Sitting on a Cushion Licking Its Paw

This scent is less sweet than I anticipated. Dry cedar, patchouli, and hazelnut with a halo of dry (in the not sweet sense) red musk. A spicy, rich and resinous scent.
  18. I get mostly the poppy, sweet deep floral with a sort of spicy edge. I imagine the agave is adding to the sweetness, a sort of natural sweetness, adjacent to honey but more herbal.

    Touched Twice

Breezy sweet florals, soft incense, and a touch of coconut.

Deer Moon: Golden Tobacco and Beeswax

Thought this was going to be love at first sniff, but in the imp I get beeswax and something like furniture polish. On my skin it's more like leather, but the kind that goes very chemically and gives me a headache. I can smell a beautiful beeswax and tobacco combination underneath but this one is not meant to be alas!

Sturgeon Moon: Salt and Sand Hair Gloss

I'm getting the blond woods mentioned, but to me this is also very mossy. Mossy, salty, woody aquatic. Not what I was looking for in an aquatic HG unfortunately but not unpleasant!

    Argento Sunrise

Bright pithy citrus and sweet fruity red musk and wine. The musk goes very sweet on my skin and the citrus less bitter. Which unfortunately gives the effect of the fruit-scented erasers of my childhood.

    Hagsgate

Oh this is so beautiful. It's lush and green. Watery crisp cucumber, tomato leaf (to me it's more the leaf than the actual tomato), slightly bitter lettuce greens. It's smells like too-good-to-be-true abundance. I get just a bit of warm soil and patchouli underneath the greenness.

    The Witch/Strega

A beautiful smoky, rosy scent. The leather is soft on me and melds really well with the patchouli. It is all really well-blended. All of those base notes are making a complex but somehow singular note. The beeswax adds a glowing warmth. Rosy is the best way to describe this, the rose is present but it's not big and fresh and super floral. It's more like dried rose, soft and muted.

    The Large Cat

This one made me nervous in the imp. It's rich, almost heady dates and brown sugar. Sweet and toothsome. It smells delicious but date notes can go almost high pitched on me. It doesn't here, just rich chewy sweetness. However the almond sneaks up and does it's weird cherry syrup thing on me.
