The frankincense starts of really sharp for me. The wet stage is very herbal and sharp. Dry the gardenia takes center stage, a very creamy floral scent. The other notes are so well blended that I have a hard time picking them out but they really compliment the gardenia.

In the imp and wet this is very boozy, but that aspect softens dry. This is just a nice warm apricot brandy on me.

I remember back in 2009 (with a very immature nose mind you) I sniffed this and all I could think was "Cobwebs." I didn't really like most resins like frankincense at the time, they smelled musty and sweet in an off way to me. However, I now love this scent. It's soft, warm, and spicy and I have grown to love resins. The cedar is not as pronounced in this to me as it seems to for others. I get a lot of citric-leaning frankincense and cedar in the background.

Used as a moisturizer as well. A dry vanilla cream scent. It starts off rather woody, but then the vanilla becomes more prominent. I get just a hint of tea rose. This is a soft but persistent scent, very lovely.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

I'd like to report a very.. enthusiastic response from the guy towards Grooming Scene in a Brothel. He's not one to say much about a scent I'm wearing but let's just say I got a very positive reaction to this one. -
Cool white florals with a little dusty aspect from the sandalwood and orris root. A little sweet, a little green. This is a nice spring scent, and stays close to my skin.
-
Mint and dry lavender up front, and gets some crispness from the lime. On me this is very soft and herbal but isn't quite up my alley.
-
A beautiful lily scent, definitely more assertive than Black Lily. I agree I get a little whiff of orange but the peel rather than the whole fruit, there isn't a juicy aspect. To me this is more of a summer lily where Black Lily is a spring lily.
-
A spicy floral with a deep warmth from the patchouli and ambergris. It's definitely rich and mysterious, but not particularly dazzling on me.
-
Smelling it in the bottle I was worried it might be too sweet but it is perfect! Sweet red musk at center stage, and the honey and cardamom add a nice body to the scent. A sexy, warm fragrance but also light enough for summer wear for me.
-
Very earthy and flithy (in the best way) patchouli. Next I get a lightly sweet tobacco and a whiff of vanilla, with just a tiny tiny tiny bit of cocoa. I love this, especially for days when Ask the Nearest Hippie isn't quite dirty enough!

This is really weird on me. Fruity and woody. Kind of filthy. I have no idea what the notes are except maybe apricot?

Started off a little too salty, but dry is beautiful. I get some resin-y sweetness at the heart with salty ocean air over the top. I also smell the jasmine, which really rounds out this scent, making it a sort of sexy mermaid. Aquatics are normally too cold for me, but this is sort of warm in a way!
-
In the imp this was sweet and syrup-y. Almost stomach-turning. But on it was light salty-sweet sea air. Not for me, but a beautiful beachy aquatic!
-
This is my first foray into hair gloss. I was worried it would weigh down my fine hair, but with a light hand it just made my hair super shiny and soft. This scent was uber tropical, very tiare forward with a little coconut. Sweet and beachy!
-
This is super sharp, I get almost entirely lemon verbena with just a little bit of dry lavender. But somehow this makes me very sleepy though bright citrus is usually energizing for me
-
Everyone has said it. Cold, black/green, gleaming. Like expensive marble. Just a very smooth, it's incense-y but not super smoky. Dark but somehow also shining. So beautiful!
-
On me this is a a lot of red musk and a little spice. It reminds me a lot of Scherezade, but less incense-y. This is definitely sweeter but doesn't scream honey or caramel at me. This feels earthy and sexy, but not earthy in a dirty way. Just a deep, musky warmth.

Immaculate white musk, sweet frankincense, bourbon vanilla, white leather, and shining armor. I did not get much of the metal or balsam aspects. This was a base of soft white leather, frankincense, and clean white musk, ever so slightly powdery in the best way with a little vanilla. A sweet and warm scent. I think I'll need a bottle!

This feels very transparent and hollow, very fitting for a ghost scent. I get a lot of white florals, a little sharp at first. Dry it's mostly osmanthus and lily. There is just a hint of green in here too. It did lean a little soapy when wet, but now it's just a clean, (not heady) white floral. I find it quite intriguing, but will need to test further before I know if I need a bottle.

This is actually quite light on me. Starts out with intense red musk, but than saffron and the spices come out. I'm having trouble identifying them, but it's warm and lightly sweet in an earthy way. I also swear that I get some rose in here. I just wish it wasn't so faint on me!

Mostly sharp lemon and mint. Herbal but not in a pleasant way. I can detect just a touch of rose underneath, but this is not working on me.

Oils with the strongest throw or sillage - the most noticeable scents
roseus replied to lunalight7's topic in Recommendations
Snake Oil, Mme. Moriarty, Mouse's Long and Sad Tale, Black Moths, Whip, Bulgarian Tobacco SN, Perversion are some of the ones I wear when I want to smell myself and be smelled by others (weird sentence but moving right along). For how soft a scent Mouse's Long and Sad Tale is, I will smell it on clothes I've worn for days after. Black Moths is another that I don't feel is particularly boisterous when I'm wearing it but I do notice it wafting up throughout the day and will get (positive) comments on it. -
This is gorgeous and very alluring to me. The carnation, plum, and musk are well balanced. Very warm, and little spicy-sweet. The throw is pretty good on me, but the scent profile is low if that makes sense. People around me can smell it, but it's not an intense scent.

Started off a nice, light, creamy ginger and then disappeared without a trace. First blend to do a disappearing act on me.
