    Black Annis

Got this as a frimp, and as a general rule I try everything that comes my way. But I will not lie I am afraid of how dark this sounds. In the imp: Mostly licorice-y anise and something that is wet and earthy. Probably the lichen and oak leaves. Wet: Anise wafts on up, very bitter with smoky vetiver alongside it. The wet earth scent remains underneath. Dry: Similar to wet but more settled. There is something very animalistic which is likely the civet. This scent is super not me, but I feel all the more courageous for trying it.

    The Coiled Serpent

Patchouli and cedar. Really well blended, just warm and earthy.

    Ogygia

In the imp: Aquatic, salty, and dark-green kelpiness. On wet: Ozone and salt Dry: A lot of ozone and salt in the throw. Upon closer inspection I get cedar, juniper, and sage. Very herbal and a little sharp. It does remind me of sea air, but like in the winter rather than the summer.

    Nostrum Remedium

I love this. Lots of black tea, just a little sweetness and something sparkling and slightly medicinal but in the best way. Is it wasabi? I don't know but this reminds me of something. I have smelled this or something like it before I am certain. Very punchy and natural.

I really need to reassess what I think I will like. A lovely Lab frimp In the imp: Crisp green and floral, but no distinct notes. Like walking through a beautiful garden in the spring, just a (gentle) wall of scent coming at you. On wet: The musk comes out, and I can't quite describe it. It's dark, but somehow very soft on me. I love it. The wisteria and lilac also come out, so pretty yet gloomy. The lemon is faint and just punches up the blend a little. Dry: The cedar is dry and sharp but not as strong as cedar in other blends I've tried and combines with the musk for a nice base. Lilac, wisteria, and osmanthus are all distinct and beautifully mixing about, with green tea and lemon adding brightness. Definitely keeping the imp!

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

Soft candy-sweet violets, sweetened more by vanilla, with a heady background of gardenia. Innocent and playful upfront with a sly grin behind it. Violets aren't really my thing, but it is a nice scent. To me this really similar to Fleurette's Purple Snails, but it could be my limited experience with violets thinking all the blends smell similar.
  7. Sign another up for Perversion. Just have to wait to see the effect on my guy now!

    Perversion

At first I hated this, but I find myself compelled to keep sniffing my arm. At first it was similar to a leather jacket sitting in an ashtray and soaked in stale booze. But now the rum is rich and not too boozy or smoky, and the tobacco and leather are creating a nice gritty base along side it. The chardonnay and tonka sweeten it just enough and add a touch of lightness to these heavy notes. Okay I'm in love.

In the imp and wet, I mostly get lime and just a touch of tuberose. Dry it is big heady bloom of tuberose and jasmine, with a fun twist of lime. I can't pick out lotus directly, but there is a sweetness in the background I can't attribute to anything else. Very fun and fresh, perfect for summer and such a different blend than my other tuberose/jasmine scents.

    Bliss

Rich milk chocolate. Like really rich, you get the full depth of the cocoa but it is also sweet and creamy. Glad I retried, the first time back in 2009 I couldn't even bear to let it touch my skin! Luckily my nose has come some way since then.

    Fae

Mostly sweet, juicy peach with breezy white musk and heliotrope. Very fun and feminine, but not very me so it's off to the swap pile.

    London

Blind bought a bottle to take on a trip as a nice staple rose, and I wasn't disappointed. This a very proper, and full tea rose. A little greenness like in Rose Red but nowhere near as chilly. As others have said I don't smell any wickedness. A great staple rose for lovers of the flower.

    Lucy's Kiss

Not getting anything but dark rose. Deep, velvety, and like it's almost overbloomed. It's pleasant but not my favorite rose.

    Dracul

A dark and sinister scent. I get a lot of balsam, fir, and cumin wet, as well as orange blossom. It gets damp and musty in there somewhere too. The musk isn't sweet here for me. Or maybe it just is too faint to detect. The bitter clove comes out when dry, but I never get any tobacco. This is too musty and dark for me personally.

Mostly almond and honey wet, and honey worries me though not as much as it used to.Dry it is almond forward, with a little honey and oatmeal underneath. Was hoping for the milk note, but it is a nice and comforting scent. Not sure if I need to keep it though.

Wet I got a strong cherry-almond note, which became a spicy amber. The musk is really soft and snuggly. Everything about this is soft. It's dry and dusky and just a little sweet (maybe a little vanilla?), makes me think of soft taupe, terracotta, and dusty pinks. A nice summer evening scent to me.

    Snap-Dragon-Fly

I agree with the Christmas associations, up front is green holly with plum pudding and brandy being the next most apparent. There is a bready aspect which must be the frumenty and/or mince pie. Boozy, festive, and fruity. Not something I see myself wearing though!

    Bastet

An incredibly rich, warm blend. Resinous, musky, perfectly spiced, and sweetened beautifully by the lotus. At first the cherry-like almond came on a little strong, but it quickly calmed down. I feel like I'll definitely need this for summer.

    A Countenance Forboding Evil

In the imp: all gritty patchouli and orange. Wet: the orange gets much more intense and smoky vetiver comes rolling out, patchouli is still tumbling around in the mix. Dry: Still mostly juicy blood orange but just a touch more restrained than wet stage, with a heart of gritty patchouli and smoky vetiver. I get a little bit of rich ylang ylang over the top. The throw on this is great. It's definitely on the creepy side, but it's not for me.

    Alice

In the imp: a flurry of rose and carnation mingling with honey On wet: bergamot forward, with milk and honey coming next. Smells a little like a tea cookie at this point Dry: Similar to wet but softer, with rose and carnation. So soft and pretty. Youthful and girlish, but never too precious.

    The Devil's Pet Baits

In the bottle and on wet this is all cherry-like almond. As it dries down the almond fades and it's mostly rich leather and patchouli. Dry it's a strong heart of leather and patchouli with amber sweetening things, and a rich woodiness from the oudh.

    Dirty

Oh my this is fantastic! I have always loved the smell of laundry and clean scents but in perfume I often find them too artificial or soapy. This however is glorious. It is a perfect fresh, clean linen. It is well balanced, not too floral or aquatic. I can detect linen, plumeria, and just a little bit of grass and citrus. Crisp, yet tropical. Most likely going to upgrade to a bottle!

    Aureus

Amber, cedar, and patchouli all the way through. Golden, truly. Not a bad scent, but not sure if it's a keeper for me.

    Fleurette’s Purple Snails

Okay didn't think I was going to like this all that much but, surprise! In the vial it's very powdery, candy-like violet. Don't like that so much. But on my skin the sandalwood comes out to help ground the scent and it's still sweet and violet-y but not so heavy and perfumey. The violet leaf adds a nice little aquatic edge. The scent reads silver to me.

    Australian Sandalwood

In the bottle: sweet and slightly sharp. Something lightly camphorous and pine-y. On wet: This is a very bold sandalwood. It has a slightly bitter undercurrent but is still sweet. Still retaining that sharp pine edge. Dry: Velvety and warm (though not as warm as other sandalwoods I've tried). Not super sweet or dainty, and it's quite complex on its own. Spicy and very complimentary to skin.
