    Hag Musk

I've tried this one on a couple times now and I'm inclined to agree that it's a warm brown musk. Not really hag-like, though I don't really know what would constitute as "haggy". I think this would layer well with other fragrances, not a full bottle need for me though

    London

This one smells wonderful in the bottle/vial - a straight up tea rose. but on my skin the "tea" aspect completely disappears and I'm left with a rather soapy rose. Not a fan, sometimes I like soapy but this is "bathroom hand soap" type of soapy I you're lucky and your skin doesn't ruin it, it would be wonderful

    Blossoming Vulva

I had gotten so many Lupers in 2016 and they were almost all successful so this one kinda fell to the wayside. I forgot how WONDERFUL it is! It's a sweet vanilla'd cedar + tea blossom...I'm not sure if I specifically smell the lotus (as I'm a little unfamiliar) but it is probably adding the sweetness that isn't creamy (creamy sweetness = Vanilla).

    Boomslang

It's straight-up cocoa with snake oil. I don't get the rice milk or teakwood but that's fine with me (actually I would have loved a noticeable rice milk, that sounds awesome) the mix of Snake Oil and cocoa is amazing! I imagine this will age to be a prized possession

    The East

I learned something new with this scent, I adore florals with mint! The mint gives the impression of a fresh breeze over the florals, making me think of a breezy field with wild flowers going. It only gets better as it dries down, super pretty The only slightly weird thing I get from this scent is the opening, it smells a little like pool chorine and it isn't actually BAD, just weird

    The Cat

Why oh why do you do this on me honey?! The honey has gone sweaty on me boooo, especially because I can smell the musk and benzoin underneath and it's beautiful. It dries down nicely once the honey eases up but I just don't think I can endure that honey every time I wear it

    This Wan White Humming Hive

BPAL's honey note almost always goes this unpleasant "sweatiness" on me. I thought that maybe Beeswax would work though...nope still get the sweaty honey unfortunately. If I can endure that phase the smell turns fantastic but that phase can last 1 hour or so I guess Beeswax and honey scents just weren't really made for me

    Devil's Night 2016

I like this one! It smells like roasting marshmallows while camping in the woods past the traditional camping season I get something that makes me think pine, some woodiness & smoke that's topped off with some nice sweetness

    The Snow at Dawn

on me this one starts off as a rather sharp floral, I find it kinda pretty but I wasn't a huge fan. Then it starts to dry down and I find it gets sweetly powdery, like powdered vanilla sugar coating flowers. I really like this phase!

    Love's Philosophy

This one opens smelling like Birch Beer (which is like a slightly minty Root Beer) and stays that way for about 15-20min Then it dries down to a creamy vanilla that somehow smells slightly chilled with out still being minty anymore, like you took vanilla cream out of the fridge I really like it in both phases I wish it lasted a bit longer on my skin though ( I only get a few hours wear)

    Samhain

Finally decided to grab this one after skipping over it every other time and super happy that I did! On my skin this actually comes across like a rich humid tobacco with apple cider and a bit of powder...must be what dried leaves and some other notes mix to become on my skin. I really love it, I don't find it sharp at all (which is what kept me from buying it other years) nor do I find it too fruity. this is just perfect for fall and if this is what the dead leaves note does on my skin then I need to be trying a lot more of the perfumes with that note in it

    Yipe!

You know how they have those almond or raisins covered in "yogurt" but it doesn't really taste like yogurt, it taste like really sweet cream? Well this is like a "yogurt" covered cherry on me. It's pretty cool but leans toward candle/air freshener at times I still really like it and it makes me smile, I just think I might refrain from wearing it to work

    Spider Witch

I love this! I get the comparisons to Mme Moriarty, but it's quite different too. The fruit in it comes across as almost grape-like on me and then there's the Oud, I usually have some troubles with Oud but this is aptly called "Sweet Oud" and I can dig it Super happy that I have a full bottle of this one, surprised it's not more of a hit with everyone

    Reapers Gonna Reap

For me it's mostly Sandalwood and Musks. The vanilla is there but seems to stick close to my skin, and that is why I'm finding this scent just a little too dry for my preference. I'll for sure give it time to see if the vanilla comes out more with age as that would make this wonderful. Even if it doesn't I'll probably just mix it with one of my Vanilla dominant bpal's

    Sissy, the Ascendant

A wonderful smokey root beer scent! Like drinking root beer while sitting by a campfire Love it Plus I had the idea to try and make a smokey root beer float with this by adding vanilla dominant oils and it works wonderfully (especially if you find it too dry on it's own, as it is rather dry) Today I tried this with Stekkjarstaur and it is soooo yummy

    Volcano in Springtime

Straight up creamy vanilla with sandalwood I really like it, the only complaint I can come up with is that I wish it projected a bit more but I guess that means I won't have to worry about over applying

    Scherezade

A master storyteller who possessed unfailing courage and compassion, a sharp, quick wit, and a true understanding of human nature. Saffron and Middle Eastern spices swirled through sensual red musk. Starts off New Age shoppy Then dries down to a nice spicy, dry, musky fragrance Like I said with my Morocco review, I prefer the less dry spicy scents

    Morocco

Not much I can add that hasn't already been said, but I'm trying to review all the scents I've tried It's dry, incensey and sweet spicy. It's true to it's notes list, you get what you see with this one I like it, but I prefer the non-dry incense spicy blends

    Adante con Fantasia

On me this is a fougere being almost completely drowned out by a dramatic honey I'm sure a lot of people love this Unfortunately for me, bpal's honey does not work well on my skin, it goes sweaty... So basically, thanks to my skin chemistry, this scent smells like a sweetened locker-room with hint of fougere I will let it age as honey can become more wearable for me with age...I hope this will be the case

    Phoenix and Dragon

This one was a gamble for me, I love 3 out of the 4 notes listed but kinda tend to hate the 4th (oudh). My only hope was that the oudh was weak, even though it's the first note listed I don't know if it's the oudh that made this sent not work for me at all, but something ruined it. It's it super sharp and dry on me and doesn't seem to want to calm down at all, just persistently sharp and all up in my nose annoying me. I'm giving this one a little time to age to see if it does something to make it wearable on my skin, but I don't have high hopes. Other bpal scents I've tried with oud only get more oud prominent with aging. It will probably end up in a swap pile in a couple years, but hopeful someone loves it and it'll make their day to see it there

    The Lights of Men's Lives

Didn't like this one when I first got it, I was disappointed because everyone raves about it. I know bpal just enough to know not to give up on something if you don't like it right away, especially a beeswax scent. So I put this one aside and kinda forgot about it. Tried it again a couple days ago (probably 2-3 years old now) and LOVED it! I'm not the biggest fan of the opening, I find it a little sharp and sweaty (which must be the "wet" beeswax because bpal's honey note does that on me too) but with age the opening has shortened and now only lasts 10-15mins while fresh that sharp/sweaty note was over an hour. Dry it's a beautiful creamy, slightly vanilla type sweet beeswax and it lasts and lasts and lasts. It's now migrated to my "to buy" pile I get the hype now and I'm happy

    Half-Elf

I had loved this one when I first got the frimp. I put it into my "to buy" pile but it's sat there for a couple years because I spend all my bpal money on Limited Editions lately. So this is a review of a rather aged Half-Elf I like the fresh better as with age the Oud becomes waaaayyyy more prominent and that was my least favourite part of the sent. Fresh it's all sandalwood, beeswax and urban musk, it's a little weird but super cool. I just can't do strong Oud though, it gives me a headache and smells sweet in a sickly way (to my nose but I know a lot of people love oud) So now that I know how it ages it's off my to-buy list. There's no way, with the size of my collection, that I would be able to go through a full bottle before it turned too "oudy". I will probably order a fresh imp with my next order though and continue to do that for as long as it's available

    A Sublime Beauty

White rose, orris absolute, warm tonka, bergamot, bourbon vanilla, and patchouli. First time to be the first to review a scent, apologies to the mods if I do this wrong In the bottle: a fruity wine-like smell, I'm guessing it to be the mix of the Rose, Orris and bergamot. Unexpected Wet on skin: same thing, rather fruity in a wine-like way or almost inky. Strange but I really like it! Drying: Starts to smell a bit floral soapy, not the biggest fan of this faze but it still smells nice. probably the Bergamot has faded and I'm left with Rose and Orris making it soapy, Haven't gotten the Vanilla or Patch yet, unless it's a fruity patchouli (which would really explain the opening). Dry: The soapiness is gone and I'm left with a pleasant clean (as in fresh air) floral, white rose with a slightly powdery orris and something (must be vanilla) lending some sweetness.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2015)

Wow, just wow! I love this one! My bottle is draining fast, this will probably be the first oil that I buy backups of! I might have to if I ever want to find out what it smells like aged (the bottle I have won't last that long lol) I find this one smells a lot like something a niche perfume house would sell to me for $300.00/bottle, it does smell quite in line with what popular in the niche world today. I get what must be the famous red musk and I'm a lover of it. The mix of the vanilla and fruits, to me, do not make this sugary sweet but rather lend a perfect sexy sweetness to the rest of the fragrance. The only complaint I can come up with is that my nose gets used to it quickly and I can't smell it after a while (to no fault of the fragrance). I thought at first that it faded fast but I always get complements on it when I think it's gone

    The Phantom Calliope

This one starts out smelling like fruit roll-ups came out with a Cherry Cinnamon flavour, which must be what the Cherry and Cassis do for me. As it drys down it becomes less fruity, but the cassis sticks around and something becomes kind smokey on me . Not too sure what the dry down mixture is, I don't really get patchouli but it might just be really well blended and I'm not 100% sure what Cardamom smells like and I don't notice any citrus feel from the verbena. The overall feel of this (when dry) is a dark, smokey, slightly fruity sexy fragrance. Really like it!
