I wasn't holding out a lot of hope for this one because it has a lot of notes that I know don't work, but I like to give everything a fair shake. That being said, this smells like the almond coffee cakes that my ran liked. It's very much a baked good scent on me, thanks to the vanilla and almond. The patchouli and vetiver are giving the baked quality a bit more credence, too. This is a hard pass for me, but I'm still glad to have tried it.

Wow this is sharp! It cleared out my sinuses a treat. I get the violets for sure, but the most obvious notes are the mint and eucalyptus. They are very strong and really opened my nose right up. It smells slightly medicinal, but that hardly surprises me. I'd probably never wear this out because it doesn't seem to be that kind of scent for me, but I might keep it around for when I'm a bit stuffy at home.

I get minty juniper bubblegum. It's not very sweet though, and is more like walking in the evergreens and doesn't really remind me of water. It feels like it would be a very refreshing spa-type scent. That's not to say it's generic, but it does feel briskly refreshing. I'm glad that when it dries the bubbblegummy note dissipates.

Melon champagne. I adore the champagne note, and it's lovely here. It's softly bubbly and a little sweet. The melon is like a honeydew and there is a bit of lime in it too which helps keep the melon from getting too sweet. I'm very happy to try this, because it's a great pick-me-up.

I feel like this one confuses my nose a bit at the start. I get mango that isn't quite ripe yet and patchouli. The sweet/sour doesn't really mix well with the earthiness. It's a good thing that it doesn't last through the dry down. The fig joins the mango and makes this a gently fruity scent. I'm not wild about this, but it's not bad either.

This smells like the most delicious syrup that should be used on ice cream. It's a sweet kumquat and orange mix with a smidge of white tea. I get zero pepper, but everything is there and wonderful. I'm tempted to try and make an actual food recipe for a topping that tasted the way this smells. It's so fruity and juicy that I just might wear this all summer long. I feel like it would be perfect.

You might want to try Jolly Roger. Calico Jack and Jolly Roger are very close to my nose. Port Royal might also do the trick. The rum isn't too noticeable for me if that's something that might give you pause.

All the fruits are there in spades. I get the jammy blackberry, watermelon, strawberry, and orange. It's remarkably sweet, but it's not tooth-aching if that makes sense. I don't get any muskiness or floral aspects. It's just some sweetened fruits. I like watermelon as a scent because it's always so playful and this fits that description to a t. While a lot of sweet things can get overwhelming, this stays at a nice bearable level. A weird win for me!

Cedar and sassafras. It starts very woody, but it dries to a creamy vanilla. It's syrupy and very much like a root beer float. It is pretty sweet and isn't as fizzy as the sassafras scents often are. The woodiness doesn't completely go away, which is nice. It kind of reminds me of drinking a float at a wooden picnic table. I don't think I'd wear it too often, but I'll happily hold on to my imp.

The prickly pear note seems to be standing out the most, which I'm both surprised and excited by. I love the note in general, and it's so rarely used ever that I'm very happy to pick it up. I get a lot of hyssop, too, and a bit of sage greenery. This is a very juicy and fresh scent for me, which I enjoy.

I was expecting it to be a bit more musky and deep, but I get some nice sweetness from the neroli and bergamot. I think the musk keeps the scent from being too sweet or outright floral, but the neroli in particular keeps the scent from getting bogged down. I think there is a nice balance here that makes it a nice scent for anyone.

I was expecting more resins, but putting it on was like putting on a sugar cone. It's dry, but still pretty sweet and vanilla-rich. It's exactly like a sugar cone for ice cream that is just waiting to be filled. Not really my style.

All I get from this one is burnt chocolate. I'm sure the patchouli and incense mixing with the cocoa is doing that. It softens to show a bit of the florals once it dries, but it's not worth that burnt chocolate period.

This is super gritty chocolate. A very dark chocolate that's I'd only ever bake with and not eat on its own. There is only a scant sweetness to it and it never moves past this almost resinous chocolate. I'm a little surprised this isn't more popular because it reminds my of a 13 that I've tried. I'm not a fan of chocolate scents, and even I think this is nice. I'll probably still trade it because I know I wouldn't reach for it often, but I still think it's a wonderful blend.

it;s hard for me to pick anything out specifically in this blend when it's wet. It's a little boozy, but not like I accidentally spilled my drink. I absolutely get absinthe and whisky as it dries. There is some white florals giving this a little softness around the edges, nothing distinct though. It's really wearable and I think would be great on anyone. It does feel like a scent that I'd wear to a gathering or party.

This is a great pine scent. It's very invigorating and fresh. Like taking in a lungful of forest air. The pine and juniper meld very nicely. I like smelling like trees and this one is great for that. I think it's more sap and needles than bark and moss. It dries to be more mellow. It's more like a well-worn hiking shirt with lingering forest and not like someone who works in a lumber mill or as a lumberjack where the scent just permeates everything.

An enigmatic, otherworldly scent, brimming with power and mystery. Lavender and jasmine, with a touch of glowing honeysuckle. This one is pretty much as advertised. I feel like this is kind of like one of those optical illusions where you can see two things, but not at the same time. If I try to get the lavender I can pick it out, if I try for jasmine I get jasmine. Whatever I'm not trying to pick out just politely goes to the back and supports it. Overall I think it's going to be a great spring scent.

I finally got my hand on some newer Snake Oil so I can compare fresh vs. aged. My aged imp is at least 5 years old, but is likely older than that. Freshly applied, for me the newer one has much better throw. I can pick it out much more readily. It's smoky and spiced. The vanilla hasn't turned to baked goods as it usually does for me, so that's good. The aged one is actually faring very similar. It's not quite as smoky and actually smells a little dulled down. However, it does seem to hold it's strength pretty well. Even though it isn't as strong out of the gate, it doesn't fade out as much as the newer one. They don't actually smell that different to me. The longevity is really the big difference when they are dry. They are both nice enough, being softly spiced and vanillic. I'm not crazy about it as a smell, but that probably has more to do with my general aversion to vanilla than anything else. It was interesting to try them side by side, though.

Very bubbly grapefruit champagne. It's bright, lively, and a little sharp. It doesn't strike me as floral particularly, and the only feeling of mint I have is a slight chill that lingers in my nose. I think it's a refreshing scent and will be great on the really hot days to feel cooler than it is. Though I can see myself wearing it year round. I think it's pretty versatile.

I really love this scent. It's a stunning red musk that is warmed and elevated by spices. It's not spicy, but spiced. I think it gives off an air of confidence. It feels very bold to me and feels dangerously feminine. It only deepens with age and I adore it.

It might be my nose that's being neglectful, but all I'm really getting here is the lily. It's an absolutely beautiful lily, but it doen't give be much to work with. Frankly, I'm fine with this as I really like lilies and prefer them to be the star of a scent as opposed to support. It does smell a bit old-fashioned, so I'd probably only wear it in a few circumstances.

Bright, fizzy fruit candies is what this opens with. It definitely smells citrusy and fun! One of my favorite kinds of scents are the effervescent ones. They kind of blow my mind and are almost always winners. I really only get the citrus notes, but I'm fine with that. The throw is pretty phenomenal, too. I think it is absolutely beautiful and could brighten up the gloomiest of days.

My nose mostly got the jasmine and poppy. It doesn't smell particularly heavy or somber. It's mostly a nice jasmine with some poppy and a suggestion of smoke. I imagine it's lost some complexity over the years as I don't get any rosemary, oakmoss, or lily but it might also be my nose or chemistry. I think it's pleasant enough, and is a nice smoky floral, but it doesn't send me through loops with excitement.

Ginger and apricot are the stand outs in Siren. They are two notes that I love, but I don't know if I enjoy them in conjunction. I'm not used to apricots feeling tropical. The ginger gives it a bit of bite, but the apricot's sweetness tries to negate it instead of working with it. As it dries the jasmine tries to push it's way through to be noticed. Very much like "I'm here, you didn't forget me right?" I really wanted to like this scent. Almost everything works for me normally in other blends. It might just be an instance of something being great, but not together.

So, I was really not expecting to enjoy this. You can add my voice to that chorus. I get a bit of pine, but there is so much more going on here. It manages to smell dark without being too heavy, if that makes sense. It doesn't feel like it's weighing me down, just a mysterious air. I'd venture that black musk is a player here as it often gives me the same feeling and tends to work well. I don't think I'm getting vetiver because it usually does nothing but amp to the skies on me. If it is in here, it's behaving incredibly well. This is one of those surprises that makes me glad I try everything I come across.
