I can smell the layers in puff pastry. How? It's a ridiculously accurate pastry scent with a pineapple and cherry filling. It's just like a fluffy, layered pastry with pineapple and cherry jam. Very strange and not really what I was expecting. I don't know about its effectiveness because I wasn't really testing for it. If I notice something, I'll be sure to report back.

It's a big ol' pine tree with a twist of lemon for me. Pine doesn't usually go to floor cleaner on me, but I think the twist of citrus that I'm reading as lemon is making it the case this time. After it dries the floor cleaner feeling goes away, which I'm grateful for. It's pleasantly herbal now and the lemon is gone. I still get a little pine, but it leans way more towards garden herbs that are a little spicy. It much, much better dry for me.

The God of Sexual Desire, Longing and Yearning; an attendant of Eros and Aphrodite. A passion-rousing blend of juniper, sandalwood, rosewood, red musk, orchid, bergamot and lilac. It's like walking through a dreamy forest. It's soft and wearable, but still has a bit of the wild in it. I get juniper, orchid, and lilac at first sniff. When it dries, I get some of the red musk. I'd say the juniper is the star of the show, but it's not like sticking your face in a tree. This isn't an overwhelming scent in the least for me. It's very pleasantly floral, and when the red musk comes in, it helps ground the scent a bit. Yeah, I'm a fan.

It's a creamy orange floral for me. It's really smooth, and a little sweet. I get a hint of spice I think is clove, but might be cinnamon. It's a spicy note, but it's there to act as a counterpoint for the sweet orange and magnolia. It's a little dreamy, and would make for a lovely spring scent. I was expecting more musk, especially if it was supposed to be a breed of red musk because that's one note that is usually strong on me. Either way, I still enjoy this even if I wouldn't think 'hellspawn' from sniffing it.

I mostly get frankincense when it's wet, but quickly as it dries I get much more yuzu and ginger. It doesn't take too long for the myrrh to come around and ruin everything, though. About 20 minutes in and it's gone to soap on me, as myrrh usually does. It's a real shame because it was real fresh and a little spicy before my chemistry took over.

This feels like a fastidiously clean scent. Not like soap, but when I smell it I think of high-end art galleries that aren't high traffic. It feels urban and chic, but also kind of empty. The tea and the beeswax are the strongest notes for me, with a musky edge to it. It's very non-obtrusive and just gives an air of sophistication.

Honeyed rose all day long. It's a little sweet, but it's mostly a very heady rose. Roses aren't really to my taste, but that's a personal preference and not a reflection on the scent itself. It's actually really pretty, but I happen to prefer rose mixed into things than as a starring note.

I must say, I was expecting more patchouli in this, but all I'm getting is the honey and ylang ylang. Between the patch and clove, I was sure this was going to be spicier or more earthy. For me at least, i just get resinous honey. It's pretty and golden, but took me by surprise a bit.

All I get from Havana is sun dried tobacco and leather, but man is it nice. Sometimes simple works best, so having two well-paired notes just complimenting each other is welcome. I'm sure the snakeroot and palm are helping everything meld together, but I can't readily pick them out. It's sweet and simple, but utterly lovely.

Hellfire is wonderful. Which is an admittedly odd sentence, but I stand by it. It's is very beautifully blended and feels nice and unified. I get pipe tobacco and ambergris, with a side of leather. I get the sweet side of these scents. For once, the sweet amping chemistry of mine works for me and makes this more unisex for me. Not that I don't like traditionally masculine scents, they are just a little heavy for me sometimes. This works perfectly and I adore it.

It's a perfectly nice floral. I get rose mostly, but there is a suggestion of fruit in it as well. I think it smells a little citrusy, but it could just be my nose. Rose is never my favorite floral, but I do enjoy this one. For me, it doesn't turn soapy, or smell too stuffy. I'm not super impressed, but it is nice and I'll keep it around in case I need a little boost of luck. Can't hurt, right?

I love this so, so much. I seem to have the "older" one that's ligt and fizzy. I really need to get my hands on more of this because I only have a little imp and I could probably use this by the gallon for all my fragrance needs. It's bright, fizzy ginger with sarsaparilla and a touch of peppercorn. It's a little spicy, a little sweet, and it's long-lasting but never feel like it's overpowering. I've kind of been chomping at the bit to get a hold of more. It's by far my favorite fizzy scent!

I don't really like many vanillas because they can be far too sweet, but this was really nice. Oddly enough the sweetness of the honey keeps the vanilla in check. It stops the vanilla from smelling like baked goods on me, and just smells pleasantly sweet. It's light, simple, and I imagine it pairs very well with a lot of things that need a touch of sweetness.

The Face of All the World is Changed, I Think

Wet, this one mostly smells like absinthe and rockrose. It's a flowery absinthe for sure. I was hoping to get some juniper or honey out of this, but no such luck. Even when it dries those notes don't really come out. What I do get when it's dry is the cardamom. I have other spiced florals in my collection that I'm more fond of, but I'm sure this will find love in another collection. -
I was slightly confused about this one before I read some of the other reviews. I, too, get whisky drenched banana bread when it's wet. I thought I was losing my mind until I saw some others seem to have the same experience. When it dries, it does lose some of that banana bread-ness and became much more like whiskey in a barrel. I also get some clove now that the banana stepped down. I like it dry way more than I was expecting to. I'm not sure where I'd wear it, but it's a surprise keeper for me.

This bottle definitely has some sediment that just won't incorporate. I tried all the recommendations and there are just spots that won't budge. I'm not the biggest fan of cocoa in the first place so it doesn't bother me that much, but it does help add some context. It's absolutely a dry and earthy patchouli. It's very gritty and has a nice chewy tobacco behind it. I get no sweetness at all from this. It kind of reminds me of my days volunteering to clear away invasive plant species and tree debris from local forest preserves. It's earthy and muddy, but not in the same way a soil note it. I'm not the biggest patchouli fan, but I'll happily hold on to this to scratch that itch when I get it.

I have the 2011 version. It's a very strong vanilla and cinnamon. It's smells like cookies in the oven that need about 5 more minutes. They are still a little soft, but they are almost done so the whole house still smells great. I even get the warmth from it. I don't really like smelling like food, so I'm going to pass this on, but it is a really nice scent.

This is for the 2011 version. This was more gentle than I was expecting. Booze scents are usually have a lot more throw than this one. It's very sweet and creamy. It reminds me of spending a quiet night in during the winter. It's a very true-to-life scent. I do mostly get the cream, sugar, and nutmeg. I get very little alcohol, which I'm pretty pleased with. All in all, a nice foodie holiday scent.

I wasn't really expecting to like this one, but I really do. I get the musk, fir, and bergamot most. The biggest surprise for me is that the myrrh isn't completely changing to soap in this one. I'm so pleased! Myrrh has ruined so many otherwise lovely scents that I thought for sure this would be added to that list. The bergamot gets a bit stronger when it dries, and the overall scent is a touch sweeter. I'm counting this one as a win in my books.

This is one of the loveliest lily of the valley scents I've tried. It smells like the whole plant, green leaves and all. It's really what I smell the most, perhaps because it's what I'm most familiar with. I'm very grateful that it doesn't turn to soap on me. I'm completely tickled, because I have such good scent memories with the note so Grief is a clear and definite winner for me.

This is a very nice lavender that is most strongly paired with sandalwood for me. It's soft, gentle, and quite dreamy. This isn't the medicinal lavender I sometime get. It's absolutely peaceful and can see it not so much for sleep, but relaxing meditation. Very happy to have this.

Red musk is the strongest player in this for me, but it gets evened out by everything else. Mandarin is probably it's biggest supporter making things a little sweeter. There's a fine thread of saffron weaving its way through making sure that it's not too sweet. When it dries I get a little of the tobacco. I was hoping for a bit more tea, but that's okay. It's quite strong and wonderful as it is.

My skin just ate this one up. It starts off very low throw for me. I get some dates, and a sprinkle of herbs but that's about it. As it dries it gets a little sweeter and a little stronger. I don't seem to get any fig, but the date sure is there. I don't think the payoff for waiting is for me as it still isn't very strong. I'm sure this will find a more loving home.

I get ethereal lilies. Somehow, it actually kind of smells like it's glowing in moonlight. It's a lot of white flowers, but the lilies really do stand out the most. Iris does also make itself known, but I don't get it as strongly. It's not a particularly strong scent, but it give the feeling of wisping around through the day. I think the springtime will be perfect time to get a lot of use out of it.

I'm not sure if it's the power of suggestion from the description, but I get purple sage from this when it's wet. It's herbal and light. When it dries, it doesn't change dramatically, but it shifts just enough to go from a bundle of fresh cut purple sage to very clean soap. On the bright side, it is a very clean and welcoming soap, but still soap.
