    Skyrgámur

This smells of yogurt, berries and oats, exactly as advertised! The yogurt/dairy note is more prominent when it's wet, while the oats are stronger after it dries. The berry note is very sweet on my skin, but not in a sickly or overpowering way. "Gentle" is how I would describe it. It's got a nice subtlety, even though it's a relatively simple blend. I like this!

    Plunder

This is a warm, dry, spicy cinnamon tea scent. Smells exactly like walking into a high-end tea shop or opening a box full of different kinds of tea. It's nice to start with, but after a few hours my skin chemistry makes some component of the blend turn sour.

    Al-Shairan

Lab fresh imp, yellow oil. I tested this scent three times because I just couldn't figure it out. It starts out with cinnamon, I think? Then dries to kind of a thin, wispy sweet incense smell. It was better on the second try than the first, more full-bodied with the warmth of the clove and a tiny hint of peach that was absent the first time around. But on the third try, HELLO PATCHOULI! It's so strange how the same imp smelled like three different things on different days. Patchouli and I don't get along at all, so my imp is now on its way to a resin- and smoke-loving friend of mine!

    Elf

Pale golden musk, honeycomb, amber, parma violet, hawthorne bark, aspen leaf, forest lily, life everlasting, white moss, and a hint of wild berry. This was another serendipitous Lab frimp. I would never have chosen it on my own because of the wood and floral notes, but it turned out to be a keeper! In the imp and wet on skin, I get mist and tart berries. Dry, it's the same. Berry berry berry. My skin chemistry does like to bring out sweet notes, and I'm not getting any of the pine that others have mentioned. The berry is fresh and woods-y, not a berry candy like in Lady Macbeth. The misty, foggy element is very prominent too, it really reminds me of a magical elf forest from fantasy fiction. I know mist isn't listed as a note but this actually smells like what I'd hoped The Hesperides would smell like, except with berries instead of apples! Elf does have a massive throw on me for some reason, so I have to keep the application light. EDIT: Oh, it's a new thread page! Added the scent description, hope I did it right.

    Loup Garou

Starts with a a powerful punch of eucalyptus and quickly softens to something vaguely sweet and green. I figured out I didn't like wood notes many years ago and somehow I forgot? Or maybe I thought my chemistry would change. But nope, wood notes are still a solid pass for me!

    Apple Pie

WOW! When it's wet this is exactly the scent of fresh apple pie filling, there's the tart apples and the cinnamon and somehow even the smell of the jelly. The drydown is kind of herbal and plastic-y up close, and from afar it's an appley haze, like a scented candle. Not as delightful as the wet stage, but still very pleasant.

    Honeyed Apple

Wet, it starts with an immediate blast of sweet candied fruit, followed by something floral and musky with a whole lot of throw. The apple note disappears after it dries, leaving a powdery honeyed pastry kind of smell. I'm not too fond of this one, it's just too perfumey for me.

    Pumpkin Sugar

This is an unusual one. When it's wet I get spiced pumpkin with a strong kick of hot, dry cinnamon and hardly any sweetness. After it dries, the vegetal pumpkin note disappears and it morphs into a sweet, sugary honey scent with a tiny hint of spice. On my skin it's actually very similar to Gilgajaur from the 2015 Yules, except Pumpkin Sugar has a thin, clear character whereas Giljagaur is thicker and creamier. I really like this. EDIT: I wore this again today and I had to double-check that it was the same decant, because it was totally different to how I remembered it. This time, Pumpkin Sugar smelled exactly like pancakes with maple syrup! Maybe something to do with aging or skin chemistry?

    Grog

Lab fresh imp. In the imp and wet on skin it's intensely sweet and sticky. Actually it smells just like the Yule blend, Sugar Cookie! A sweet, buttery baked goods scent. After letting it dry, yep, on my skin this is identical to Sugar Cookie all the way from start to finish. Surprise LE dupe! EDIT: Forgot to mention I don't smell any booze in this.

First Cry of the Warbler on the Plum

In the bottle, a fresh clean tea scent. Wet on skin, something sharp and sour joins the mix. Plum? Whew, this is really perfumey! I guess that's the wisteria. The florals are wiping out all the other notes. Dry, it's florals all the way. This is just too perfumey, when I was hoping for a light tea blend. Not a keeper.

    Pumpkin Latte

2016 version. I don't detect a coffee note in this, or any distinct notes at all, actually. It's a well blended, soft and warm fall scent. For me, this is the big winner among this year's Halloweenies.

    Gingered Chocolate Soufflé

When the oil is wet, it's ginger and chocolate, true to the description. It's delicious! But dry, it turns floral and perfumey. Still identifiably chocolate, but not as authentic as the wet stage. The ginger note in this is super strong, I store my bottles in a box in a drawer and whenever I open the drawer a huge waft of !!GINGER!! hits me in the face.

    Caramel Apple Cookie

In the bottle it's the Lab's characteristic sweet, syrupy, gooey cookie note, but once it hits the skin it totally transforms! I get a strong nutty scent combined with a crisp, green apple that reminds me a bit of the GC, The Apple of Sodom. As it dries, the syrupy cookie note sneaks back in, making for a well-rounded mix of sweet, nutty, and fresh. It was a surprise to find the apple note is the crisp green variety rather than the roasted sweetened variety, but I still love this scent!

    Yipe!

With my skin chemistry, this is artificial cherry flavored cough syrup from start to finish. Yipe indeed!

    Connecting Flight

From this thread it seems like there are a lot of batch variations in Connecting Flight, and my bottle seems to be the sour cologney variety. The above descriptions of rusted metal and cheap cologne are spot on, unfortunately.

    Peach Pie

Wet, this is an incredibly realistic canned peaches scent. Wet, sweet and juicy, just like the glazed sliced peaches on top of a pie. As it dries I get some hints of buttery, flaky pie crust, and the bright, juicy quality fades away. So for a few hours I get peach pie exactly as described, but unfortunately after a while it turns into an unpleasant sickly sweet scent. I'll have to rehome my bottle, because that late stage morph is not good!

    Queen of Sheba

Lab fresh imp. This is a strange one, as far as how it interacts with my skin chemistry. When I sniff the imp all I get is paint thinner, and the same when it's wet on skin. After about an hour of paint thinner, the sweet almonds, spices, and honey start to emerge. "Whisper" is a very appropriate description for this scent, it smells kind of dry, like a desert wind! It's sweet, but not exactly foodie. I really like the dry stage, but it does take a while to get there and the paint thinner wet stage isn't that great!

    Little Lady Macbeth

This scent is just INCREDIBLE from start to finish. It smells exactly as described, currants and cake, but literally it's the best currants and cake you will ever smell. It's very similar to Eat Me, but better, I'd say. Like the next evolutionary level of Eat Me. Softer and more sophisticated. I love it so much!
  19. CitrusFiend

    Inferno

Lab fresh imp. Just after applying this, I get a burst of sharp neroli, but after it dries it's all almond, all the time. It's not a sweet sugared almond scent, like the description says it's very much a bitter almond that doesn't smell foody at all. It smells a bit weird on me though, this scent just doesn't mesh well with my chemistry.
  20. CitrusFiend

    Chimera

My skin amps sweet notes, and on me Chimera is all warm sweet sticky cinnamon buns. Very foody. It was instant love when I first tried it, and now eight years later it's still one of my all-time favorites.

    Nostrum Remedium

In the imp, I smell a vaguely sweet cool fog. i can't pick out any individual notes. Wet on skin, something bitter joins the mix. This blend turns soapy during the drydown, but in a good way. All in all, it smells like fancy tea soap. Short-lived but lovely. Like most tea scents it's light and stays close to the skin, like perfume and not PERFUME!! that you can smell from six feet away. A good choice for when you want or need to wear something more subtle.

    Giljagaur

asfld;fslsdkl GILJAGAUR IS SO GOOD OMG. Sweet, creamy, thick and delicious in the bottle. Once it hits the skin a strong nutty note (must be the cinnamon) quickly develops. As it dries, the cinnamon melds with the other notes and the end result is a smooth, creamy mix of coconut and cinnamon. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.

    How Doth the Little Crocodile

Lab fresh imp. A yummy chocolate and mint scent when wet. Dry, though, it's all cedar and oakmoss. I've never met a wood note I liked, wood just smells weird and unpleasant with my chemistry. I'm dreaming of a version of this scent without the wood notes, like a perfume version of an after-dinner mint...

    Embalming Fluid

Embalming Fluid is one of my all-time favorite BPAL scents! I get green tea and lemon, exactly as described, and once the top notes fade I'm left with a lovely soft musk. It smells very similar to the Lemon Tea perfume oil that the Body Shop used to make. I just wish the fresh citrus notes lasted longer than an hour or so on my skin.

    Bon Vivant

This is another one of those "exactly what it says on the tin" scents. Strawberries and champagne, nice and light.
