Oooooh. I think I actually said “ooh” out loud when I first applied this. It’s smooth, sweet, beautiful. The notes all blend together so well. I don't have any words to describe or define this scent because my brain has been totally discombobulated by how gorgeous it is. Would love to know if there are any dupes or similar scents in the general catalog.

This is boozy sugar and currants in the decant. It doesn’t change much from wet to dry: a fruity, sweet musk, very Bath & Body Works. I’m getting a bit of wine, but no spice.

On first sniff, Voodoo is a very strong perfumey patchouli. Wet on skin, it develops some nice resinous and spicy notes. I agree with the other reviews that said it smells like a bonfire. A few hours later, though, the clove is undetectable unless your nose is touching your wrist, and it turns into an overly powdery and sweet incense scent. Too hippy-bookstore for me.

Spiced Pumpkin Cider smells like pumpkin and honey in the decant. Apple cider emerges as soon as it hits the skin and continues to dominate after it dries. Yep, it’s a delicious apple cider with some indistinct soft sweetness around the edges. This reminds me so much of an old favorite of mine, Fearful Pleasure from a Halloween many years past. Beautiful.

This was a really strange one on me! It was a single note pine when wet, then as it dried it turned into a sweet berry musk. There aren’t any berries listed in the notes so I have no idea where that came from! It doesn’t smell dark or bitter at all. I think my skin has a tendency to amp sweet notes.

This is almost pure cinnamon in the wet stage. There’s a tiny bit of cardamom that gets stronger as it dries. The spice notes move into the background after a while, and it settles into a vanilla-and-bitter-wood scent. This is like a crossover between the gourmand and wood genres without leaning too strongly either way. It would be a good one to try if you’re a big fan of one but not the other and are looking for something a bit outside your comfort zone!

Who’s Afraid is all coconut when wet, like toasted dry coconut flakes. As it dries it goes through a bitter stage which I guess is the snow note? And after that it settles down into a delicious, light and nutty chocolate. I love it!

On me, this is a light, warm honey scent with a bit of spice. I’m not getting any fruit or alcohol from this, but I really like it anyway.

Wet, it's Snake Oil mixed with a sweet floral. No acai here, which is too bad because I love acai! Surprisingly, the amber didn't amp and drown out everything else like it usually does on my skin. After drying, this is pure Snake Oil on me. The oil is a light orange compared to the thick brown of regular Snake Oil, but on my skin they smell the same.

Starts off dry and spicy, eventually settles to a perfumey smoky spice. I wonder if anyone else knows what I mean when I say a scent is "perfumey"? lol! It's that hazy, vague quality. On me, Old Demons is not awful, not great, just meh.

This scent is very well blended, such that it's hard to tell exactly what I'm smelling. No one note sticks out above the rest. Overall it smells warm, dry, sweet and a little spicy. Exactly what I imagine Morocco smells like. Nice, I really like it.

In the imp and wet on skin, cool florals with a hint of spice. Surprisingly strong throw. Dry, the rose dominates, which sadly happens very often with my skin chemistry. It's just too floral for me.

In the bottle, this smells heavenly. Incredibly realistic coffee and tiramisu. As soon as it hits the skin it gets warm and spicy. Bitter coffee comes through in the the drydown, plus a strong floral, and it stays that way from then on. I mainly get cold, bitter florals. A few hours later, a slightly creamy vanilla-like note comes out to play. The tiramisu is back! For a little while. Then the whole scent turns into plastic before fading away. This scent is like a rollercoaster. It's three completely different perfumes in one! I love the foodie wet stage, but bitter florals and plastic aren't for me. It stays very close to the skin and doesn't last very long. -

In the imp, sweet florals. Wet on skin, florals with fruity candy. The candy-like quality fades as it dries. Another reviewer described this as "polleny", and I agree. It's soft! I'm not usually a floral fan but I like this blend. Surprise frimps are great for trying scents you wouldn't normally be interested in! -
Starts out quite promisingly with creamy vanilla and light sandalwood, but after it dries it's all powder on me. I think the lotus root is the culprit there.

Herbal honey when wet, dusty honey with light incense when dry. Nice, but not my thing.

2016 version. In the bottle and wet on skin, it's predominantly booze and...this may be just my imagination, but cherry? As it dries the cherry disappears, a milk/cream note emerges, the spices come to the fore and everything balances out to make for a creamy, smooth, gorgeous blend. I love this.

In the bottle it smells rich and thick and syrupy sweet, like the Lab's cookie scents. Wet on skin it's less sweet with a hint of nutty bread. It doesn't change much through the drydown. Sweet syrup-drizzled pecan bread. Just delicious!

Fruity and sweet when wet, joined by something sharp and astringent (tea blossom?) as it dries. The oak takes over slowly but surely. The scent turns sickly sweet later on, probably because of the lotus and amber, which tends to go that way on my skin. I don't like wood notes or sickly sweet smells, so this scent isn't for me!

Lab fresh imp, colorless oil. In the imp, it smells like herbal green apples. Wet on skin, it goes sharp and tart. After it dries the apple note sweetens up and takes on a foggy, perfumey character. It's all right, but not amazing.

2016 version. Smooth, rich dark chocolate with a slight nutty undertone. Delicious!

This smells good enough to eat! It's sweet, creamy and cake-y. To my nose it's the same cake note as in Jack and Eat Me, plus a hint of pumpkin. (I know cake isn't listed in the notes of Jack, but on me it's cake cake cake.) The dry stage is much the same, creamy and delicious, with the addition of BPAL's signature creamy-honey-milky note that gives me the distinct impression of a drop of pale, clear honey just about to drip off a spoon. Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake is lovely, but Jack is an easy GC dupe, maybe mixed with a bit of Dana O'Shee.

Lab frimp. Athens opens with a delicious sweet fruity wine but quickly dries down to a single note myrrh. Other reviews mention sticky sweetness, and I'm surprised that didn't happen on me because my chemistry likes to amp sweet notes. Instead, the drydown of Athens is resinous and smoky without a trace of sweetness. Which is great for myrrh lovers, but alas, I’m not one of them!

Lab fresh imp, light amber oil. in the imp, I smell sweet sticky cake. Wet on skin, the plum note emerges and mingles with the cake. Dry, the cake note has disappeared and I get a spiced plum scent. More of a cooked plum than a fresh, juicy one. I get a bit of salty pastry crust too, if I take a good sniff. Unfortunately it goes sour and unpleasant on my skin after an hour or two. If not for the sour morph, this scent would have become one of my favorites.
