Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
kattalog replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
Rather recently I fell in love with Sixteen92s Paper moon: "Soft vanilla musk, benzoin, oakmoss, trailing ivy, peach blossom, rose". On me, paper moon is green: ivy and moss over wet, cold stones with comforting benzoin and some vanilla for warmth. The rose isnt noticable and the peach blossom belnds well together with the vanilla. Is there any BPAL that would be similar to this? Ive seen some blends that have several green, ivyish or moss notes but often together with dirt. Even though I like some dirt in my scents, as long as they arent too dominant, Im even more smitten by green moss/ivy/fern, cold wet stones and vanilla/benzoin. Though just a bit of dirt would work :] -
Dry: Candle waxy (not bee wax), soapy and almost plasticy. Very aritificial. Very near skin directly at dry down. An hours in its still very waxy, almost in a chemical way as while walking down in a store where they sell cleaning supplies. Past two hours it morphs again, shaking off the chemical and going back to… soap. Dominant notes: Soap and detergent.

Dry: Dry, warm (quite comfortable) warm wood. Sweetened with summery flowers. Into its second hour the florals are gone, instead theres a vanilla-like sweetness adding to the warm wood, making it softer. Ends with a beautiful, summer warm wooden scent. Dominant notes: Warm, sweet wood. I wish there was more clear notes for this one, as I would like to explore the wood in other combinations.

Dry: Powdery sweetness with nougat and dry flowers. Half an hour in the lavendar shows up making it less gourmand and more floral for a while. The nougat is still there, but underneath the spice and cocoa and keeps being so slightly nutty and sweet. On me skin near on the go but a rather comforting scent. Would love to try a chocolate piece that smelt like this. It morphs in the end into dry chocolate with nuts. Mother Shub’s stygian nougat is very skin near from start to finish: its goes from nougat with an alcoholic sharpness as wet to sweet nougat and dried flowers and ends with a dry chocolate piece with nuts. Dominant notes: Nougat, lavendar… cacao? Gourmand.

Dry: Dry lavender, ginger and honey. The soapy parts are gone and instead a blend of scents that would match a salve to help wounds and pain. Does have a slight green or herbal edge sometimes, but not as far as to traditional chinese medicine. In the end, a few hours in, the savory amps and the honey fades. Close to Al-Azifs warm honey scent but not as sweet as the herbs grounds it. Dominant notes: Honey, herbs, ginger, lavender.

Dry: Sweetened creamy, almost buttery rice with sweet toppings (maybe jam?). Very realistic! An hour in the cherry sauce shows it self, being sweet without being obviously fruity, on top of cream and rice. With time, the risalamandes rice note grows stronger. Its a soft and sweet rice rather than dry precooked rice. Its rice cooked in cream with a pinch of vanilla and sugar. Ends as a mix between cream, warm milk and sugar. Dominant notes: Rice, cream, sweet. Gourmand.

Wet: Flowers pistil, honey. Creamy. Dry: Very near the wet impression, with an almost floral honey. Its warm and creamy, almost thick, but not spicy. The apricot lends just a hint of fruitiness, but not something I can pick up blind. The cayenne gives it just a pinch of sharpness. Mostly just honey.

In the bottle its dark berries and vanilla very nicely mixed together. But I dont think Kitty likes me, since I dont get any strawberry at all. To me its powdery sweet, slightly spicy and warm. Almost no fruits at all. Perhaps Im amping the sandalwood to the max? Me and Kitty wasnt meant to be.
