Mine is from the 2018 Yule collection. It smells like fresh, clean laundry that has been drying all day in the sun. It's lovely, bright, and clean. I don't get a lot of lemongrass, it kind of hangs in the back giving the bright notes. Mostly I get the amber and davana, making this a musky white floral -with hints of brightness-on me. It almost goes powdery, but the lemongrass keeps that in check. I definitely enjoy this, but it's more of a summer scent.

This is completely amazing. I adore it. The lavender and sage give it lovely herbal notes and the patchouli isn't overwhelming, but still there in the background. It's long wearing, I could still smell it on my skin after 10 hours of wear, but not overpowering. The throw is low, which is my personal preference. Add me to the list of those who would love a bottle of this. I'm going to treasure these imps.

This is an amazing creamy apple scent. It's soft from the vanilla, a little sharp and fruity from the apple, and all soft and lovely. The apple does fade a little, but the vanilla doesn't dominate, which is unusual for my skin. It just kind of ends up like a granny smith apples stewed in cream and vanilla. It's completely gorgeous and soft and inviting. I don't get the lavender or bergamont as individual notes, but there's a faint floral note about the apple that I suspect is from the influence of those two. I honestly can't praise this one enough, I adore it.

Heavy on the cloves when wet, with a faint woodsy smell. Dries down to faint spicy smell, I can occasionally get pine from it but mostly just the spice of cloves.

When Hunger Moon hangs high in the sky, the fields are frozen, and game is piteously scarce. Sleet covers the ground, and biting winds chill to the bone. This is a quiet, cold perfume: desolate and despairing. It is a clear night sky that and bracing chill wind that bears the promise of snow, sharpened by the pain of hunger, and the sharp, rasping stab of thirst. Ozone, white sandalwood, crystallized white amber, verbena, oakmoss, clary sage, black pine pitch, and a hint of white citrus rind. This reminds me just a little bit of Xiuhtecuhtli upon initial application, but as it dries down something more creamy comes to the surface. My skin likes to amp anything that resembles vanilla, and that comes into play here though I have no idea which note it is that's giving me vanilla. There is something green/citrusy about the oil that is then backed by something warm. Unfortunately, It didn't last all day. May need to see about a more liberal application. Definitely glad I got a bottle though

So not too long ago I had a panicked stricken evening where I thought my cat had gotten into my perfume. Thanks to my hormone enhanced sense of smell (something I realized only AFTER the panic) she smelled sweet, nutty, and faintly perfumey but I couldn't quite identify exactly what smell it is that she had gotten into. After much googleing I realized that cats have that scent naturally and I'd just never really noticed it before (aren't hormones weird, you go your whole life with them playing with your body and they STILL come up with ways to surprise you-like oh hay a brand new advanced sense of smell). ANYWAY, Bastet smells like a stronger version of that. Faintly perfumey, slightly nutty, sweet but not foody. I really adore it. It goes on fairly strong with the almond, but that fades as it dries and then I just smell like my cat.

Dead Leaves, White Cedar, and Cinnamon Incense Smoke Hair Gloss
Melani Robison replied to puck_nc's topic in Hair
I get a lot of the Dead Leaves scent at first, almost an overpowering amount. But it fades just a little and the cedar comes out to meld with it. It's really lovely and woodsy. I don't get cinnamon at all, a little hint of smoke from the incense, but not a ton. Super strong lasting power though. I'm editing this to add that this hair gloss lasted quite well for the three days bewteen my shampooing, and that after I washing my hair the cinnamon decided to make an apearance for at least a couple of hours. -
He Came in the Radiance of Paradise

I have no idea what witchery my skin is doing to this scent but I get something very like peanut butter when I first apply it. It's nutty and oily, and just very much like a jar of natural peanut butter. So weird. When it dries down the rose geranium takes center stage and it's just very much a one note, pleasantly acerbic geranium scent. It has a really strong throw and lasts forever. I'm not sure that the drydown is worth that weird first phase though. -
Coffee: sweet, sugary coffee. I swear it smells like a caramel mocha. And that's pretty much it. If I really concentrate after the dry down I can get hints of old books, but mostly it's just coffee. It is a bit reminiscent of a graduate student's desk; lots of coffee to get you through the late night study sessions. I like it more then I thought I would when I first applied it. As it has worn down a little, the overpowering sweetness is less overwhelming. I don't need a bottle, but I'll enjoy the imp. I think I might enjoy this more in a diffuser as opposed to applied on my skin.

I love this one. It starts out a little acrid and astringent (not in a bad way at all) from the tea. There is a woody sharpness from the sandlewood mellowing the tea a little. As it dries the sandlewood fades and the vanilla comes to the forefront making it smell exactly like vanilla tea. It's got really good lasting power, so glad I risked a bottle.

I got this in an imp pack I believe and while it's fine, it really isn't for me. I get cake and maybe sugar cookie? Sweet, vanilla baked goods for sure. I don't get any of the currants. It kind of smells like a sugar cookie candle minus the waxy scent those often carry. This is exactly what the label says it is and it's really not my preference, though to be fair I knew that wasn't my bag to begin with. I don't really want to smell like cake, I like vanilla scents but I prefer them to be less foodie. It might be nice in an air disperser though, so I may hang on to the imp and think about it for a while.

This is a complete miss for me. It's nice upon initial aplication. I found it a bit sweet but fine and then it starts to morph and oh no. There is a scent note that completely disagrees with my body chemistry which both amps and morphs any scent to which it is added to become a one note, overpowering sickly sweet smell that I cannot tolerate. I had thought that note was grapefruit, as that was the note common to the oils which do this on me, but that note isn't here. I suspect that the culprit here is the pink musk, but I can't be sure. I'll be placing this imp in the trade/giveaway pile.

The frankincense and clove are most prominent on me. The clove, which tends to amp on me quite a bit, is tamed by the other notes. I don't get the mint until much later and then only as a background note. It's a warm scent, with hints of sharpness. It feels very much like the contradictory nature of Gemini. The lasting power is really good and the throw is also nice.

This is such an amazing scent for me, it's also very hard to review because it changes so much. I don't mean that it wears down and different scents come out, I mean that it morphs differently on different occasions that I wear it. Each time though, it's lovely. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's a green citrus scent with hints of smoky incense. Except that sometimes it's a strong incense scent with hints of floral citrus. Other times it's a very light floral with hints of orange and smoke. I love this. I originally got it in an imp pack and immediately upgraded to a full sized bottle. I can see myself going through many bottles of this one.

Dead Leaves, Raw Leather, Bourbon Vanilla, and Clove
Melani Robison replied to puellacaerulea's topic in Halloweenie
The clove is definitely most prominent on me, but it's mellowed by the vanilla and leather. There is a slight dry herbal note when it's first applied that I suspect is the dead leaves, but that sinks into the background fairly quickly. As the oil dries down it becomes a lovely warm, slightly spicy scent that I really adore. It has really good lasting power on me and I find the throw to be just about perfect, enough that I know it's there but not so much that it overwhelms me and my surroundings.- 25 replies
