  1. Black Forest has this womanly note to it. I can't recall if it's musk, amber or sandalwood... or, none of the above?
  2. Fenris Wolf comes across as pretty feminine to me. It's the only Wolf scent I've been able to wear, and actually loved.

    Pumpkin King

In the imp all I can smell is rootbeer lip balm. On me, the same. It is kind of pleasant, though!

    Fenris Wolf

This is *the* wolf scent to me! I am so glad I was finally able to swap for it. It makes me think of being curled up next to a wolf, warm in a den, which is somehow glowing with a golden light. Beautiful!

    Cerberus

Smells so much like curry. Really! The dry down seems to be fading curry, but still curry.

    Traveling with BPAL

I've never had a problem at Logan, Baltimore, and Atlanta. I pack them in a little purse (only usually bring a max of 10) and I never tape them up or anything like that. I've carried them on and also checked them. I guess each airport experience can be different, though.

    Samhain

To be brief: In the bottle: Just like last year's Samhain. On me wet: Smells like last year's Samhain with a bit of HM's buttery spice. On the drydown: Just like last year's Samhain!

If I pay with a money order

D'oh. Silly me. For some reason I read Money Order as Paypal. Must have my order on the brain!

    Decanted...tarted up...

Oops. Sorry, guess I should've reported it for merging. I still forget that it's possible.

    Decanted...tarted up...

Decanted means they took an amount out of a larger bottle and put it into an Imp sized vial for you. Tarted refers to the old style Imps from BPAL that had the fancy parchment type label with the fake sinew ties.

    Mabon 2004

I am also getting Cherry Sucrets, but am going to give it an hour or 2 before I decide I want to swap it.

    Tzadikim Nistarim

When I was young, my grandparents' pantry always smelled of slightly overripe oranges, a sweet smell. This is what Tzadikim Nestarim smells like, to me. ADDED Sept. 27, 2005: This one is another trip down memory lane for me. I don't get melon. I get slightly overripe oranges. Reminds me of my grandparents pantry, and also a small convenience store near my meme's old house which sold penny candy and was run by the original owner, who was around my meme's age. We used to go there as kids, and the scent of slightly overripe fruit was always on the air.

    Bacchanalia

This scent has a long history with me. I believe it was in my first BPAL order. I sniffed it, thought to myself, "Old lady!" and promptly swapped it away. A year or more later I have swapped for it back, and have a new spin on the scent. I am picking up less old lady now that I've let it sit on my skin. Initially, yes, it is a bit cloying. It almost reminded me of lilac. I think that was because I assumed that's what my grandmother (old lady) smelled of, having seen the powder in her bathroom and smelled her. Last week, my grandmother passed away. Bacchanalia has made several appearances on my skin since then. I smell initially a heady floral-fruity scent, I presume the grape. Later, as it fades, I get some musky scents, somewhat like amber. It is, hours after application, sweet, sensual and warm. I wish there were more reviews of this, so I would have something to compare my impressions with! EDIT: There are... you just couldn't find them! Merged with existing review thread. --Shollin

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

    I would guess OH-nehr-wah or maybe it's OH-ner-roy

What email adress do I use for PayPal payments?

"There's also the fact that, as soon as humanly possible apparently, Beth & co are planning on leaving CCNow." True, but as soon as they do really make that switch, or it is impending, I presume we will no longer be able to make a payment through ccnow as the primary method when purchasing via the BPAL website. I think I will use Paypal from now on, however, based on the information you both have provided!

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

Any guesses on Lughnasadh? I did an internet search and came up with varying pronunciations!

What email adress do I use for PayPal payments?

Is there any benefit to paying via Paypal as compared to a ccnow checkout?

    Tombstone

At first, for some reason, I thought I smelled leather. I figured I didn't like the smell, but I let it settle. Then I smelled vanilla. Then I smelled trees. Now it smells like cedar and vanilla, kinda sweet to me. I think I thought it smelled like leather because the smells remind me of "new car" or "car air freshener" but honestly they are much more amazing than that. Just my warped associative mind at play! This is definitely something I will be wanting a 5 ml of! ADDED Sept. 27, 2005: I adore Tombstone. I wore it for a whole summer, so I'm on a little break from it right now. Will go back soon. The way the vanilla blends with the tree scents, and the sassafrass complements that is just amazing!

    Dana O'Shee

Actually, this is alot like what i had *hoped* Snowcake would smell like. At first its very almondy. Later on in the day, it smelled almost cherry-ish. It is definitely a sweet, delicate smell. Kind of reminded me of my old Strawberry Shortcake doll, but in a good, much better way.

    Cathedral

All I could smell in this scent was earth. Now, I love that dark, earthy smell a lot. However, I was really hoping to pick up on some of the incensy notes--- maybe each batch varies slightly, or maybe it was my soap, or my personal chemistry.
