waaaait a second. there's patchouli in greed, and yet- it DOESN'T make me smell like a dirty hobo. WHAT? i know copal is a resin, and i think i can pick it out in this blend. the patchouli is there, oh yes it is, but it is tempered by the sweet, sunny heliotrope and the woody oakmoss. and- wow! i smell good!

like fine floral soap stored in a cedar box, at first. as it warms to my skin it becomes more complex. sweet, lady-like florals atop warm, dry cedar. i usually can't do florals, but in this combination i can. and of course my beloved amber holds it all together! i'll be holding onto this.

this smelled buttery and sweet and gooey in the imp. like cupcakes piled high with frosting. on me it changes dramatically! it's all cake- a toasted, almost-but-not-quite burnt cake scent. milk and fresh-baked cake! then the wine comes up and it changes again. i will be keeping my eye (nose) on this one throughout the evening.

wow, this is nice! sandalwood usually amps to high heaven on me but here the sticky sweet dragon's blood keeps it in check. it has the woodiness i love combined with one of my favorite notes ever, dragon's blood. stays very true and has great throw.

it's like sweetened green tea. sweet, clean and fresh with a lemony kick. very pleasant but definitely not "me."

wow, this is darker and more bitter than i was expecting. i thought it'd be sweeter, like dragon's blood usually is. it's shockingly spicy and dry. no cocoa. sadly the vetiver ruins it for me. after a while it goes away, but what's left is basically just dragon's blood, nothing else- so what's the point?

i knew i would love pumpkin smash. at first it is all pumpkin and smoke. i don't really think it smells like pumpkin innards- it's like the pumpkin in any of my favorite pumpkin patch scents, just less sweet and dressed up. nonetheless, the buttery pumpkin/smoke combo is a real winner. it stays like that for a while until the final drydown, which is heavy on the beeswax. sweet, smooth beeswax. i will be holding onto this one!

this smells delicious in the bottle. when i dab it on, however, it BURNS! i'm really glad i didn't put it on my neck- this is the back of my wrist we're talking about, and it's on fire. the only other blend that has done this to me is bengal. after about a minute it's all better. however- this is a tasty, tasty perfume. most foody scents seem to disappear on me or turn plasticky but i think the musky backround of EGM keeps things together. i was really hoping for some cherry but instead it's all vanilla/caramel/cardamom with a touch of cocoa- but it works and it's good! i wasn't expecting this at all. i don't know if i'll be able to wear it straight. i might try it in a scent locket or as a lotion, but either way, i'm keeping my little groundhog!

bottle: warm, heady and sweet. a little soapy. like someone just took a very hot shower with expensive soap. skin: wow, i genuinely don't know where to start. this smells magical! the golden incense is what first comes to mind as i sniff my wrist. underneath is a bit of an herby floral, slightly damp, lightly sweet. on subsequent sniffs i get chewy, sweet candy. as fairy market dries it remains pretty strong. i expected this to be very light and ethereal but it definitely has substance- and it definitely lives up to its description. the lavender stays well-hidden, which is a very good thing because that particular note had me worried. it remains in the background, a faintly ticklish herbal note, if anything. the scent sort of "consolidates" at this point- the general scent is of sweet, golden warmth with an herbal undertone. i love this! my overall impression is actually of stands and stalls set up in a grassy clearing in the woods just before sundown, with warm yellow lights illuminating the magical wares. it's just beautiful.

strong, thick, dark musk. resinous and dark and a little bit spicy. it doesn't last that long on me but the ultimate drydown is lovely. and the patchouli stays hidden!

i love the way smut smells in the bottle. unfortunately it smells terrible once it hits my skin, going from thick, rich, brown sugared musky goodnesss to the acrid smell of burnt sugar. there's something bitter underneath, as well. usually i can pull off musks like no other but apparently not in smut. after a while the acrid smell gives way to slightly melted plastic. ugh.

bumping this thread because i want to smell like a princess, too, hehe- i'm actually thinking something girly and sparkly and glittery. i'm very into spices and resins and darker smokey scents so i'm in totally new territory here. help me out!

yum yum yum! oblivion is spicy resinous musky goodness. as usual i really amp the dark musk (reminds me of the black musk in haunted) but the wood is there and the saffron keeps things interesting. best of all, the patchouli is nowhere to be seen- er, sniffed! i've had this one around for a while but never realized just how good it is. it can work for either a man or a woman- it smells marvelous on my boyfriend, a bit woodier and drier, almost piney to both our noses- but it is just as good on me, in a different way, all musk and sweet resin.. and personally i love the green-black color. a bottle for sure!

black lace sounded so perfect for me but ultimately it's a little disappointing. the creamy cotton reminds me very much of white rabbit. the incense reminds me very much of the incense in the lurid library is smokey and spicy over a delicious layer of musk. in theory, these are all things that i should like, but i think it is a little too bitter for me. it tickles my nose and it's not entirely pleasant. as it dries down it smells *exactly* like the lurid library which is great but since i already own four bottles of that... yeeeeah. so i'm glad i tried this and i may test it a little more, but otherwise, i'll swap or sell it.

i like this! it's dark, cold water. i guess maybe i like aquatics a little more than i thought.

smells like crumbly, dried-up dirt with something sharp underneath. it's not terrible, but it's not something i want to wear as a perfume, either.

if it wasn't for the lavender, this could have been great. unfortunately all i get is a hint of something burnt and an awful lot of lavender. an awful, awful lot.

bleearrghhh. burnt, dirty patchouli, and literally nothing else. nooo thank you.

wow, hellcat is boozey! the buttercream (in the imp, this is just DELICIOUS), mead and rum are divine but the almond is too cloying for my tastes. unfortunately i also amp almond to an unheard of degree so if it would only behave itself a little better this could be lovely. sadness.

nocturne, in addition to being a word that never looks right when i spell it properly, makes me feel like i've stuck my nose in a box full of floral-scented powder. i'm being smothered with old lady smell!

the ginger and orange blossom in vixen are lovely, and they actually keep the patchouli in check to the point where it's just a dark, gritty undertone. still not something i'd want to wear, though.

suspiro is all white flowers and jasmine and that just doesn't work for me. all bends like this smell exactly the same to my floral-hatin' nose.

sed non satiata smells like a sweeter love me, in my opinion. the musk in this is really nice but the geranium and myrhh kinda ruin it for me.

old scratch made me realize that lavender is the note in a lot of bpal blends that makes me want to jump out of my own skin. i can smell the tonka and amber and wonderful rosewood underneath but the lavender is just all-consuming and awful (and it lasts forever on me, too).

A perfume sacred to the highest of the angelic hosts: calla lily, wisteria, white sandalwood, Damascus rose and frankincense. oof. seraphim is a cloying white floral over powdery sandalwood. not for me.
