Extremely woody! (with a hint of foody spice) Too dry for me, but may be just the thing for a friend of mine who adores all things wood. If she doesn't love it it will be up for grabs/swaps.

I bought this from a livejournal forum member as a Christmas present for a friend (but, of course, I couldn't resist testing it!) I ADORE this scent!!!! Its unlike any other I've encountered! Floral, resin, mint, aquatic.....it seems to have them all in perfect balance! Sweet and light and yet grounded so well it lasted through 12 hours of work (most bpal florals exit my skin after about 4 hours unless anchored to a resin or musk). It reminds me a bit of Singing Moon....but sweeter....with a tang to it... the sweetness of white florals without the cloying factor. Oh.....I must find one for ME!!!!!!!! Edit***found one for ME!!!! YAY!

I love Witch Queen! I'd thought I'd already written a review for her! Applied again today after not wearing for about a month (so many new scents to try!) and I adore the purple/plum incense of this womanly scent! As I was sniffing and admiring I was reminded of a much sought after LE.....Gypsy Queen! GQ is a bit more sweet and waxy smelling, but Witch Queen has a deeper more plum/floral scent. The underlying incense is extremely similiar to my nose, however! Very "woman in control" powerful incense. So for those who love Gypsy Queen (and also love womanly florals) I would reccommend Witch Queen. They are like cousins. Edit 2016...stupidly swapped my 2007 bottle away a year ago and desperately missed her. A beautiful bpal bestie ordered me a new bottle. Oh, Witch Queen! I will never let you go again! You are the ultimate plum/incense scent ever.

Smokey and sweet and lasts forever! Not ANYTHING like the description makes it seem! Lovely!

Frimp from lab with 'weenie order. Since I was slightly dissappointed in my two 'weenie bottles I consoled myself by trying a titch of this on..... HOLY WOW!!!!!!! It starts out with a cherry cola over patchouli/sandalwood scent that quickly dries into chocolate flavored high quality cigars with a glass of red wine. It ends up a vanilla-y sweet amber with hints of musk and sandalwood. The final dry down is the ultimate warm amber/musk combo I've been searching for since I started collecting bpal last January! Throw is moderate and best close to the skin. But this one DOES last! I applied it last night and it was still sweet and strong when I woke up this morning. Just ordered a big bottle! I forsee using this one A LOT!!! (in fact, was tempted to order TWO bottles, but I just couldn't rationalize that.....almost did though!) This might just rival Minotaur and MB: Closet as my new holy grail!

In the bottle and on wet this is very herbal men's colone. after about 15 minutes it dries into a soft, dry, leafy warmth that I really like. I'll definately keep my bottle, but I don't think I'll need more than one.

Good LORD this is a beautiful floral!!!! The rose and carnation harmonize perfectly with each other on my skin....I think I can even scent the orchid playing balance in the middle. And the amber and sandalwood are perfect incesnsy backdrops to these three main floral notes. Mmmmmmmmmm.....I'm thinking big bottle here!

VIOLETS! (good thing violets like me). I was hoping the iris would come out more, but mostly this is violet with the powdery warmth of amber and vanilla musk and a dry titch of something woody in the background. Don't get me wrong,.....I love this scent. I'm still looking for a good iris scent though..... *Edit.....and dry....hello more wood and amber!...the amber note in this is very sweet and deep....makes me think I need to find more scents with black amber in them.....

All Souls 2006 Don't think I ever reviewed this one..... Received as gift from a switch witch circle (bpalanonanomous on LJ) MMMMMM.........who would have thought that frankincense and berry cake would go so well together!? It starts out a bit sharp, but the dry down is soft, powdery and edible. Will be wearing this alot this fall season!

Was gifted a decant of this from a wonderful friend! In the imp it smells like juicy bubblegum...don't let that fool you! On me.....it dries to a lovely light floral (roses? Roses love me!) with a dry woody background and a hint of pomegranate juice. I don't do well with dry woods normally but this wood smell (I'm thinking its a combo of the patchouli and pepper) is fantastic! And it lasts forever on me! Weeps that I only have a wee decant!!!!!! (*edit*....well....I've tracked down a bottle in swap....Yay!Edit again.....make that two bottles! The Queen=<3!)

Wow! This is a sexy guy smell! I can understand the references to CK-1 (I used to wear that years ago)....Its colone....but VERY expensive colone! The main notes that come out for me are a heavy mix of lavendar and thyme with a kicker of bergamot....there IS a deep, faint woody note that is probably the patchouli. Its beautiful and I'll probably have to get more as I intend to gift this to the gay receptionist at my work.....I think he'll love it!

Wet I thought, "hmmm, Zombi without the roses and with a titch of mint and musk added" Dry it is a gorgeous mossy-sweet-hint of musk, mint, smoke-scent that makes me think of early, early spring when the skies are still mostly grey and there is always a dirty, melting wet, snow smell in the air plus the faint hint of wood smoke. Lovely scent (I really like mossy scents I've decided!) and I'll probably have to eventually track down a bottle when people realize they just aren't using theirs to full potential! :-) *Edit* This dries down to a soft, green musk on me....very lovely....reminds me a bit of buck moon only more herby. Glad I have a friend lovely enough to send me a whole bottle for my birthday!! :-D AND.......found someone with a Singing Moon tee for sale...Loved the tee when first online, but didn't want to order a shirt if I didn't like the scent.....The tee is fabulous!!!!!! Am in love! Shall order more BPTP tees!!!! The fit is amazing and the print quality superb!

My favorite of the Pit! Wet it smells like green apples over Snake Oil vanilla goodness. Dry.....still very fruity but the smoked vanilla comes out more...and thankfully the cardamom stays faint! Oh, I love this one! Very strong and very long lasting. This is a foody-fruity/amber/vanilla blend that smells like nothing else and lasts and lasts....
-
Mmmmmm.......I adore this one! Definitely in the top 5 of my foodie collection! Where the blackberry in Crumpet Rebellion turned metallic THIS blackberry stays fruity and sweet! I think I'll alternate it with The Candy Butcher when its that foodie time of the month! Wet.... buttercream frosted white cake topped with blackberries and soaked in brandy. Dry....same just more mellow. Lasts...4-5 hours (on me....which is considering I have to wash my hands/wrists several times per hour at my job) Throw....moderate. My co-worker I've enabled kept grabbing my wrist to sniff! A definite winner!!

Sweet and spicy in the imp (a blend of cocoa, coconut and spice).....yummy and foody smelling. On and drying down this is more and more dry spice without the round sweetness I so loved in the imp. :-( Dry.....the cocoa comes back a little .....dry this smells a bit like german chocolate cake with a titch too much cinnamon added. Its okay, but I prefer Closet and Underpants as my Monsterbait foodie goodies! (and The Candy Butcher as my chocolate craving, PMS soothing scent!)

Wow! This is uber floral! With a honey/sugar kick! The throw on me is very strong and it looks to be lasting well. I'm more a foody/resin girl, but I know what scent I will reach for now when I don't want straight rose... Yum!

Ordered this bottle from a live journal sale on a whim as none of the notes are particular big favs of mine. Wow! I'm glad I did! This is so different from anything else I have or have smelled! To make an odd comparison the oil I have that smells the closest is Crumpet Rebellion! But Bitter Moon is like berries still on the vine in a thicket, while Crumpet is the same berries in a flakey fruit tart. Smelling from the bottle I get the sage, lavendar and vetiver as a bright and VERY bitter blast. Herbal and pungent. On wet the blackberry creeps out and the herbs back off. On dry the blackberry is very prominant with the florals blending well to provide a complex, non-foodie background for the berry. Mmmmm, not my normal type of scent (which is resins or foodies) but one I'm really enjoying. Hooray!

Mmmmmm, very leather but with a light floral/green/ambery edge! This makes me think De Sade meets Casanova+a hint of amber! Oh my! I'm going to have to try this on the bf when he comes to visit next week! The leather eventually gets toned down by the orange blossom/amber combo, but since those are two of my favorite scents I'm good with that. Though the leather continues to be the dominant scent. Don't know if I'd wear this one myself. Its very, very masculine to my nose, but the bf is definitly getting guinea-pigged with THIS one...

This was a spur of the moment swap and I'm SO glad I did!!!! This is sweet, sweet, nag champa with a titch of foodie sugar and a light dust of floral on me! I love incensy scents (Minotaur is a signature scent for me) but Midnight on the Midway might just take over! It lasts forever and is the ultimate foodie/incense combo. I know I'll need to order another bottle before the Carnivale leaves town!
-
Oh YAY!!!! Finally a pine scent I can wear!! (I love Wolf Moon, but the combo of pine/musk just doesn't work on my skin). In the bottle it smells like pine trees and limes. On I'm getting a more woody 'green' scent (I'm not much of a fan of dry wood scents)...the citrus fades out and the pine/woods/thyme come more into play. It definitly reminds me of a winter forest. Oh hooray! I'm loving it! I really, really smell the thyme more and more as it dries down, but it combines well with the woody/evergreen notes. Huzzah!

As a foodie lover I'd high hopes for Crumpet Rebellion. I never thought I'd get a chance to sniff it, let alone end up with a full imp decant, but one of my friends was a fashion designer involved with the Phoenix Parade and she graciously gave me a full imp decant last night! Sadly.....it goes metallic on me (or maybe its the "celery" note mentioned by someone else)....I can smell the foody PROMISE of goodness, but my skin chemistry doesn't comply with my wishes...grrrrr On me its like berries that have sat too long in a cheap stainless steel bowl and taken on the metal aftertaste. I guess I should be happy this didn't turn out to be another Underpants for me....I'd be searching for more in vain! (but I'm not too sad....another friend just gifted me with decants of Black Moon and Peacock Queen! Yay!) *Edit* While CR didn't work for me...I HAVE found my berry foodie BLISS scent.....MB: CLOSET!
-
Very much reminds me of Hungry Ghost Moon....only with more musky tones. I love musk, but I have to say I like HGM better overall. I'll probably keep my imp of this for now....but wouldn't hesitate to use it for a good swap, as I think I'll reach for HGM before I'd reach for this. It IS lovely for those who adore variations on the asian scent theme, however!

I wore Beltane for Beltane and Litha for Litha (summer solstice).....both scents were SO VERY right for their days! Beltane---very, very springy, green, growing things. Litha--golden, light, warm.....long lasting.....which makes me giggle since Litha is the longest day of the year!
-
Yum! On me the lime, mint and green tea blend well and are grounded by the musk. The Aloe adds a titch of bitterness...making this a bit masculine. It lasts a long time on me, but the throw is moderate. A very nice blend for summer--I agree with those who say its like a perfume version of mojitos!

Frimp from Lab-- In the imp- this is green with a promise of sweet berry. On wet- Much more green and herbal. The berry is VERY tart and bitter! On dry- The berry fades out and the herbal greenness remains. Final analysis--While I find this an interesting scent, it is not one I'd wear. Its going to go to my friend who collects the Rappacini's Garden scents! I think she'll LOVE it!
