SMACK! I AM EUCALYPTUS! when first applied on the skin. Good thing I like it then. The eucalyptus fades out a bit, and the pine and the orange come out a bit. The orange is very gentle, not too bright and cheery on my skin. Great scent, a bit on the masculine side but not too much.

At first: very intimidating.. It smells like dry teak wood with dry cocoa powder. So dry it will scorch your nose. The cocolate becomes a bit more dominant and later on the fig comes through as a nice surprise. The fruity fig becomes the most dominant scent on my skin, with the woody chcolate at the edges.

lemon and herbs hit me first, in a surprisingly light scent. Later on the frankincense starts to come out more, in a warm, sometimes dry way. An unexpected keeper.

Yes, like Lush' honey I washed the kids. But far better. It has that sweet caremelized scent, but there's a very bright green apple underneath that. The kind of apple that is so crisp and sour that it makes your eyes water. I'm not sure if this is too sweet for me. But I love the greennes of the apple.

How could I not order this, only living two seconds away from this city's border? I can smell the green grass very well when I first apply it. When it dries, the flowers and water come through more. A very light scent.

My reaction to ths was *exactly* the same as Shriekingviolet's: The pumpkin really stands out, a fresh, sweet pumpkin with a bit of spice around the edge and unfortunately nothing of the buttery goodness I can catch whilst smelling the vial. The sweet pumpkin note rather reminds me of potpourri. I'm not entirely sure yet whether I dislike it on my skin, but I'll definately give it a try as a room scent, to see if the butter stick around a bit longer.

At first this smells very sweet, like candy-powder. Later on the amber comes through more, and the scent gets a bit more depth, but stays very sweet as well.

I love mint. And Cathode has lots of mint. Combined with the green moss this gets a very green and herbal feel to it. I can't really smell the ambergris, but it's there, making a velvety kind of base note. Beautiful scent. I love mint.

I can't really add an awful lot to the reviews above... It starts out lemony, which turns out more 'wet' when worn a little longer. It's not a harsh autumny downpour, but a clouded over 'can-start-to-rain-any-minute-now' day. Too bad it's sunny. It doesn't really suit it.

Reading the description: Ow, this has patchouli and rose? This can't be good.. At first: No patchouli discernible for me, thankfully. It's a rose, but raw. The rose turns loud and sharp on me, sadly. as a room spray it stays more to it's original, raw self. I'm ususally not of the poetic descriptions, but this really reminds me of a book title: "A rose of flesh". To me, this describes it perfectly, even if it isn't my scent.

At first sniff this was a bit intimidating.... The almond note is different from any other BPAl oil containing almond, it doesn't have that 'cherry' feel to it. I can smell sharp spices. On: O dear, this is exactly that smokey, getting-to-my-throat phase that I dislike in Snake oil as well. The spices are strong for a while, especially the Saffron stands out to me. after a while it mellows out, thankfully, and becomes more sweet and less commanding. No vanilla, but honey and spice. Will have to wear this more often to see if I actually like it, but it has me very intrigued for sure. ETA: she's a keeper. It smells like dry, hot, spicy wind with sweetness under it. Beautiful.

On my skin, this turns chocolte with vanilla and very lightly hazelnutty. When wearing a little longer, up comes a top note that I can only unhelpfully describe as 'loud lard'. I can still get the milky chocolate whiff every now and again, but the lard just.... grins at me. Absolutely devine in oil burner though.

Similarities Between BPAL Scents - GC and general discussion
Tesseljoan replied to Shollin's topic in Recommendations
If you like Embalming fluid, you'll like Kumiho. Same with Zombi and Burial. I think Lightning, Storm and Tempest fit into the same category, although they are notably different as well. -
When wet, the jasmine strikes me first. when on my skin, there is a brief moment when the fruit comes through more, but then one of the florals beccomes unbearably loud and sharp on me, turning this in a bouquet whacked around the head.
-
I'm not too heavy into flower scents, but this one is more introverted than flower scents usually are. Since I'm unfamiliar with flower smells, I can only say that this smells like white, quiet flowers.
-
I haven't tried it myself, but Quinkel said she had good experiences with wearing High John the Conquerer (one of the Voodoo blends) to a job interview.

Violet comes out the strongest in this one, and I can't distinguish the other notes, other than some 'juicy' or 'wet' (not quite aquatic) note. It envelops me very nicely though.
-
This si very sweet initially, but after a while you can smell the less-than-sweet notes. Didn't ecpect to like this, but I did. The berries don't stop this from being a very mature and sophisticated scent.
-
This starts out as your avarage fresh lemony scent (o, this smells a lot like embalming Fluid/Kumiho/tempest), but there is more fruitiness to it, that makes the scent a bit fuller. It's still going strong after an hour, so no ultra-fast fading on me. Right now, it's less citrussy, but it smells more like a dry bite of fruit. This one is good.

It's been a while since I had this (forgot to review it), but what I remember it was sweet. sweet, sweet and juicy. It wasn't me, but it was a very happy-perfume to burn in an oil burner.
-
This wasn't for me, unfortunately. It was a bit like a perfume that you can by at a drugstore, one of those that they don't bother to put behind glass. I doesn't do anything for me - and turns rather sharp after about an hour.
-
A very happy, bright white and juicy scent. I can't really distinguish the plum really, but it must add to the overall juicyness of the scent.
-
I've tried this one several times to seen if what happened wasn't a coincidence: two times on me and twice in a burner. This scent makes me fall asleep. This works especially well in an oil burner (even in moderate amounts), but on myself the scent make sme drowsy as well. To give this finding a bit of scientific flair, yes, I did test the oil out on different times of the day. The scent is a floral, but I'm not good at identifying individual florals. It's good for going to bed -when I don't have any action in mind that is.

So I *can*wear rose, after all. This goes on very rosey at first, but with a nice bite of cinnamon (I love cinnamon). After half an hour, the rose is a bit soapy. Soapy cinnamon. It reminds me a teensy little bit of Sin, which turned a bit soapy on me as well, but Harlot isn't quite as deep and dark.

I thought this one would be similar to lightning as well... And I was kind of right. Storm has the same strong ozone note, only Lightning is far stronger and sharper. Storm starts out with a cucumber-ish scent, which doesn't turn sour (like in Hurricane). Overall, of all the 'airy' scents (Lightning, Hurricane, Tempest) Storm is, in my opinion, the best.
