    Vixen

Lascivious, flirtatious, and vampy as hell. A true heartbreaker’s perfume. The innocence of orange blossom tainted by the beguiling scents of ginger and patchouli. First Impression: Strong, almost liquor-like scent, the orange blossom is prominant. Like Grand Marnier spiked with patchouli. On initial wear: Still pretty strong, but softened up quite a bit. The orange has faded a bit, and now the ginger and patchouli are peeking out. After dry down: It has been over an hour, and the scent is still pretty strong. Now, all 3 prominant notes are pretty balanced - the orange, ginger and patchouli are blended in harmony. I was a little worried that the scent wouldn't work on me, that it might be too hard. But after actually wearing it for a while, it has become softer and absolutely lovely. It's the perfect amount of spice mixed with citrus, completely balanced. Definitely a sexy scent, and great winter scent. This one's a keeper .... I am going to try it out as a room scent, too.

    Kuang Shi

KUANG SHI Bust out the dzang dzi! This scent honors the zombies of Chinese lore. Mandarin orange, white musk, mango, and white sandalwood. Initial Impression: It is a soft, light scent. It smells very "pretty" and the mango and orange are obvious, yet it doesn't smell overly fruity. Initial Application: It is still soft and light upon applying. I like that it is a feminine scent without being floral. (I don't do well with overt florals, especially rose scents) Dry Down: The white musk and sandlewood start peeping out after a while, and the "fruityness" has died down. Mind you, this is NOT a fruity scent, there are just elements of orange and mango that become less noticeable after dry down. Overall, I do like this scent. It's nice and fresh, perfect for a spring day. Not quite sure if I am willing to commit to a whole bottle, though...I don't think I would be using it enough to need anything more than an Imp's Ear.

    Ultraviolet

Electrifying, mechanized and chilly -- the scent of crushed blooms strewn on cold metal. Lush violet and neroli spiked hard with eucalyptus and a sliver of mint. the scents of eucalyptus and mint are very prominant in this. it smells fresh and clean, very light, with a touch of violet undertone. i really liked it - especially as a room scent. i placed some in my oil burner and it scented my room so well.... EDIT: Added Lab's description --Shollin

    Jester

Jester makes a wonderful room scent that really lasts. I used it in an oil lightbulb ring, and a few drops lasted for hours. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with my body chemistry enough to be a sucessful fragrance for me.

    Black Phoenix

this smelled like cherry coca -cola on me. it was fun at first, then gave me a bit of a headache. not a success for me...

    Thanatopsis

i recieved this as a sample and figured i'd give it a go...unfortunately, it did not work on me at all. it was too overpowering, even when dried down. a little too masculine, as well. this is definitely a good guy scent, though.

    Hunger

Hunger is another winner in my book. i love the sweetness, cut by narcissus. it's like a vanilla floral, but not -too- floral. once it dried, it definitely softened up a LOT. this may be a frequently re-applied fragrance for me...i might consider buying a 5 ml bottle.

    Hellcat

hmmm. this is a bit -too- boozey for me. i tried it last night, and i smelled like i spilled a bottle of butterscotch schnapps on myself. i am not really a fan of buttery/rummy smells, they don't work on me at all. ah well. can't win 'em all.

    All Night Long

i burned this in my lightbulb oil ring, and it scented my room nicely. it smelled very earthy, a hint of cinnamon and an almost 'nutty' undertone. almond, perhaps? i have no idea :? but it was very pleasant as a room scent.

    Ophelia

i recieved a sample of Ophelia as part of my order, and decided to give it a go today. on first impression - it was very "rosey" and light. i am not normally a fan of florals, especially rose florals because i find them too overpowering and heavy. on initial wear - it was still very "rosey" but light enough to be pleasant. i felt like i smelled like a bunch of fresh cut yellow roses from my mom's garden, balanced with a little bit of green. after dry-down - it is light, and still a pronounced floral. it is a very pretty scent, even though it is something i would never have chosen for myself. i will definitely save this for a bright spring day, when i feel like wearing something fresh and happy.

    Snake Oil

i just recieved my first BPAL package today, and the very first scent i was itching to try was Snake Oil. first impression: very exotic, spicy, with undertones of sweetness. i didn't smell the vanilla right away. initial wearing: still very exotic/incense like, with a powdery sweetness balancing it out. after dry-down: the vanilla is coming out, slowly & surely. it's sweet, balanced with powdery spice. i really like it...i can foresee this as a one of my "signature" scents. (can't wait to try the rest of my samples!!)
