CCCXCII (392) On first sniff I had no idea how to describe this. It's tart and creamy at the same time with a very strong "soapy" note that I think might be lavender. Wet on my wrist the creaminess fades very quickly and the tart fruit and lavender-ish note blend to form something bright, clean and fresh. When dry on (very warm and slightly sweaty) skin the tartness fades to the background and the clean notes linger with a very faint undercurrent of light florals. I really love this one, It is delightful; sophisticated yet fun ! After sniffing the bottle a few more times I've decided that this reminds me of quince (something I looooove the smell of). It doesn't smell like quince, but has a similar tart yet creamy texture to the scent, with the floral background that the quince fruit has when ripe. Definately a keeper!

Slobbering Pine is all evergreen forest after a thunderstorm. Its delicious if you like evergreens and woodsy scents. Its part of Rappacini's Garden, and def. worth an imp. for your friend to try.

I adore chocolate scents and my next order will include Candy Butcher which described as very sweet and chocolatey.

I love chocolate and this is my favorite of the chocolate/cocoa blends I've tried so far. In the bottle the coffee note comes out strongly to my nose with a background of cocoa and spices, reminiscent of a Mexican Mocha. On my skin it warms up to the most decadent and rich dark chocolate brownie scent with espresso and cinnamon. This morphs very little on me and lasts forever, it is truly one of the longest lasting of the Lab's blends on my skin (which tends to swallow oils up in a matter of a couple of hours). I put this on one night before bed and it was still strong and true the next day. To sum this one up in one word... Yum!

Ok, I was wrong... Its White Barn Candle Co.'s Brown Sugar & Fig room scent and its DIVINE!! Just wish I could find a perfume oil, lotion, anything for my body that smelled like it. Well, since I can't recommend anything other than BPAL on this thread, have you tried the most obvious Strangler Fig? If the room scent smells anything like the Bath and Body Works lotion and body butter in the same scent, then SF might be a good one to try. It isn't as sweet as the Brown Sugar and Fig, but the fig note is quite pretty. Oooh, I hadn't thought of that. I haven't even been able to find B&BW products in anything but the fragrance oil. I'd love a body butter in that scent, I'll check the website.

Hmm, I have the same problem with my little one. I'll have to try something minty for him. Lemondrops seem to help me sometimes. Unfortunately the remedy of front seat, window open that worked so well for me as a kid too is no longer legal in the US. Children under 12 must ride in the back seat, belted into a booster seat (so the poor sick kiddo can't even lie down). Ginger capsules or chews can help quite a bit but I don't think ginger as aromatherapy would be quite as effective, and getting a kid to swallow capsules is probably not in the cards if your little one is anything like mine. Actually, I think there is a syrup made for kids that can be purchased at natural foods markets that has ginger in it for upset tummies. I have some at home I've tried for indigestion and its worked well at home, don't know how effective it would be in the car.

I would love an oil that smells like their Ripe Fig room scent oil (might be White Barn, not sure). That one smells exactly like fresh picked blackberries to me, or the bushes warming in the sun when we used to go berry picking. Mmmmm

I think Tum is very grape-ish, but its going away soon.

Hurricane is one of the ones I mentioned in my first post that gave me a headache and made me nauseous. I tried Jolly Roger yesterday. I can definitely smell the leather in it (I told you-- my skin finds the slightest hint of a leather note and goes "OOOOooo!!! LEATHER!!!!" ) but it's a saltwater-soaked leather. So even though it had the leather hint to it, it actually wasn't that bad. I'd still like one that didn't have the leather, but this will do in a pinch. --M Sorry, I didn't see that in your first post. sigh... I really need to get more sleep.

If you're brave, Hurricane is a salty, seaweedy aquatic. It was absoutely awful on me but in the imp it definately smelled like a beach or harbor after a storm. Its not for the faint of heart though, it is also quite smoky.

I'd go with Egg'd Mailbox. I'm wearing it right now and it is a very sweet, creamy nutmeg scent. Mmmmmmm Of course, its LE but you might be able to get hold of some.

Dark amber, dead leaves, khus, saffron, bitter clove, chrysanthemum, camellia, galangal, and a drop of oud. Wow! Death of Autumn has been quite a morpher, in a great way. In the bottle, and wet on my skin it is very warm, dry and distinctly smoky, with a slightly sour undernote (vetiver, I'm sure) that is evocative of fresh-cut firewood. When this dries completely I'm left with a soft, very dry herbal scent with a hint of sweetness that I adore, and warm spice. Beth has managed, yet again, to perfectly capture a mood and scene in a bottle. For me this one is walking through a deciduous forest in the late autumn just as the first flakes of snow start to fall.

Singing Moon has a spicy bite that brings to mind the first frosts of fall, and chilly moonlit nights. I really love it for cooler weather.

Allison Gross reminds me of my herb garden at the end of summer, when things are blooming and going to seed. In the bottle, and on me wet it is very green and herbaceous, like fresh-cut herb stems. On drydown it becomes softly floral with the herbal note to the back to ground it and keep it from screaming "FLOWERS". I love this scent, it is fresh and light on me, but grounded with an earthiness that I'm guessing comes from the musk. A perfect summer fragrance, but it does seem to attract bees.

Will it let you do a "bill to" address, then a separate "ship to" address? The billing address will have to match the credit card but I can imagine you can have the items shipped to the new address with no problem.

Anyone have good recs for a GC sub for July's 13? I never thought I'd like a chocolate/sweet perfume but I adore it and want more!!! I know of Velvet, Candy Butcher and Bliss as chocolate scents but don't know which would be the best choice for that fruity-spicy chocolate.

I'm consistently impressed with his composition of photographs, even when rushed they look great. And dayum, that's one big-honkin' millipede! The artwork for this series is georgeous.

Try Lick It (the original -- it's LE, but you should be able to find some in swaps. Get Lick It '05, not Lick It Again, because LIA fades much faster). It's a very cold peppermint backed by a gorgeous candied vanilla musk, and it lasts forever. Also try Cloister Graveyard in the Snow. It's not sugary, but it's a very cold mint backed by white musk (which makes it almost creamy) and a whisper of incense, and it's incredibly long-lasting for a mint scent. Green Tree Viper is a gorgeous candied mint, but it's more of a warm mint than a cold mint to me. Still worth a try if you like mint scents, though. The lab has a bottle of Lick It up on Ebay right now. I'd like a warm, sweet amber with some musk, lilac grounded with woods and something that smells like the fabulous Good Earth's Jasmine Green Tea, very light on the jasmine.

Oh my! evilmistress, your husband's photos are so artistic and beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing them. I think I'm going to have to get a bottle of Crowley, just so I can have that lovely creature on my nightstand.

In the bottle: pure cocoa with a fruity whiff underneath. Mmmmmmm Wet on my skin: Tootsie Roll! On initial drydown this becomes a wonderful sweet cocoa smell, but not milky in any way. I do detect a juicy peach note and a very faint whiff of spice. This is a very warm and very sweet scent that reminds me most of chocolate fondue. After some time the fruit and spice come out and it reminds me of grilled peaches with a chocolate sauce drizzled on top. There is a faint herbaceous undertone as well. Sorry about the repeated foody comparisons but they are the best descriptions I can come up with for this one. This oil is very sweet on me but it is a sweet I can wear. I never thought I would actually enjoy a foody, sweet scent but the other notes in this intrigued me and I'm so glad I took the risk. I'm really enjoying this immensely. ETA: This is delightful in a scent locket, I've been wearing it this afternoon and have lovely cocoa-honey scent wafting around my nose. Mmmmmmmm This scent evokes the image of a lie-in on a cool, rainy day with a mug of mexican cocoa, fresh fruit and warm, fuzzy blankets (or in my case a warm, fuzzy husband) and a good book.

Cockaigne Source: imp recieved in a swamp I had to try this one, in spite of the description which sounded like it would be gawdawful on me, because my childhood home was called Cockaigne Farm. So I gave it a go... and was pleasantly surprised. In the imp this smells very sweet and pastry-like. Not so much cake to me as it is too buttery, more like caramel sticky buns. On wet it smells much the same as in the imp but even more caramel-y if that's possible. There is also a nutty note that blends with the spice I like quite a bit. On initial drydown this seems quite milky and sweet. My first impression is a caramel latte', heavy on the caramel. Mmmmm. Surprisingly it is not overpoweringly syrupy and I'm actually liking it, though I want to eat my arm. Hmmm, could be a problem. After several hours I gave the crook of my arm a huff and realized I smell like buttery pecan shortbread. The hubby loved the scent as pecan sandies are his favorite cookie. This one is truly a scent of a land of sweet nuts, milk and honey. Very foody, very sweet, and quite pleasant. I'm pretty sure I won't wear this on a regular basis but there are times when this will be a perfect comfort scent.

Originally we were talking about imp labels. I was under the (mistaken) impression that imps labels were all the same.

I slathered on Slobbering Pine this morning in honor of the impending rain and realized it is very similar to Thunder Moon. A touch more pine (duh) but they both have that zesty freshness. I think Slobbering Pine would make an adequate substitute.
