About Me
Average joe in the world of intentional personal fragrance. (I am working towards setting up to swap, though I don't have much selection as far as I can tell.)
Sweet woody resins win out most of the time. Spice-forward blends always draw my attention.
I know I enjoy in BPAL notes:
Absinthe
Cypress? My taste might have changed.
Amber
Labdanum
Patchouli
Sandalwood
Vetiver
Earth/loam/dirt, but it's fleeting on my skin
Clove
Cinnamon
Cassia
Cardamom
Honeysuckle
Chamomile
Chrysanthemum
Mullein
From other perfumes, I've discovered an enjoyment for:
Ambergris
Anise
Carnation
Licorice
Mimosa
And in previous contexts (usually culinary or botanical rather than personal fragrance) I've found I enjoy:
Ginseng
Fennel
Lemongrass
Lychee
Lime leaf
Lilac
Jasmine
Gardenia
Rice
Barley
Molasses
So far, violet stands as the only note who ever gave me consistent trouble. I must've eaten too many violets as a kid, and the version in perfume comes from dissimilar varieties.
