I am actually a morning person. In the vial: Strong, heavy floral. Jasmine. Heavy stuff. When I first opened the vial, I didn’t think I liked it for whatever reason. I was very disappointed, because I had been most looking forward to smelling this scent, but put it aside until I had time to examine each one individually. I am so glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised when I took the time with this one. On my skin: Jasmine still, but not with so much of a kick, there’s something else to it. Smells like a warm night in a garden. It reminds me of talcum powder somewhere in there. On my skin it is soft, flowery, not overwhelming in any way. I can’t quite pick out rose there I’m afraid, but I do smell the myrrh. My husband is crazy about Nyx on me (yay!). It’s my favorite too so far. Geeze, I want to bathe in it. I need a full bottle of this one.

Wrath is my favorite deadly sin. I love an evil villain with vengeance on his mind. In the vial: I could smell all the scents exactly, dragon’s blood, clove, cinnamon, and at the end, black pepper. It’s actually even a little nose-stinging, but not in an unpleasant way. So far, this is my favorite one in the vial. On my skin: Dragon’s blood was strongest at first, a scent I am typically not very fond of, but the clove was just fantastic, the exact perfect match for it. The scent-order and strength remained the same as it had been at first. Dragon’s blood, clove, cinnamon, black pepper at the end. As it dried the cinnamon got stronger than the clove. I loved this.

(More geekery - I bought this because I like the X-Men character Storm...she grew up an orphaned thief in Cairo.) In the vial: Sweeter than I had imagined. Almost poisonously so. On my skin: Strong, still quite sweet, but with a sort of lemony smell. Unfortunate associations to cleaning agents, although it didn’t smell utilitarian, there was no chemical undertone. As it dried, the lemony scent began to take a back seat to something a little more spicy. It was not heavy, but it was more the sort of scent I associate with incense. Hot, dry air carrying perfumed smoke. Lovely.

In the vial: It’s like opening a bottle of smoke. Acrid, sharp, burning. Very intense. On my skin: It mellows beautifully…it’s like a campfire. Burning wood. Deeply comforting, it reminds me of the smell of the fireplace in the house where I grew up. It’s better than I ever thought it would be. It’s not floral, fruity, or musky, kind of a green scent somehow. But it is a scent I can absolutely imagine wearing as a perfume. I made my selections for this first order of imps ears as I began to link the scent descriptions to my RPG or fanfic characters. I selected this one for one of my OC’s, Shaitan, a mutant firestarter named Adrian in my X-Men RPG. It is happily very correct for him. I am a huge nerd, and I am okay with that.

In the vial: Leather. I smelled that first, before the merlot, but it followed strong, like dark wine fresh out of the bottle. On my skin: Like a very dry merlot, but leather still seemed very vivid. As it faded, I only then detected flowers. It’s so complicated, so layered. I keep going back to it, closing my eyes, and breathing in as long as I can, trying to decipher every different piece that I smell…detecting it all is sort of useless, I think. It just becomes one thing, musky and warm. It faded in an hour or so and then I couldn't smell it at all (but that's how everything is with me) It’s not me, but I like it. Wanda was a frimp in my first imp order.

I am a fiend for roses. It is literally my middle name. Rose perfume, rose lotion, real roses, fake roses, roses, roses, roses. I bought Two, Five & Seven by sheer reflex. Wet: It's an assualt. The scent is highly concentrated and quite sharp, but very sweet as well. I smell some strong rose scents, but when I think I fixate on just one, it gives way to another. On my skin: The scent is heavy and sweet, but fading quickly (scents don't stay long on my skin). Roses, roses, roses, and still just a profusion. I smell red rose and strong tea rose, but that's not everything. There are sharper fragrances there too as you inhale. It's changing all the time. But the grass is also there, some fresh scent mingled with the rest, sort of sneaking between the roses. I smell it just as I pull back from my wrist.
