    Monster Bait: Bloody Mary

Very cherry and a bit cough mediciney. Does not work well on my skin - it amps up and gives me quite a headache. Probably a good scent locket blend. I like this worn with Midway.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

Orange Sweet Tarts. Sweet, citrussy, sunshine in a bottle. It lifts my mood and makes me smile just sniffing this.

    Seasonal Affective Disorder

I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) so winters are difficult for me. I am taking advantage of what Western medicine can offer, but find it lacking. Since BPAL's TKO helps me sleep, I'm wondering if there are any SAD sufferers out there who can recommend a BPAL to help me get through the winter. I PMed Beth this question, but then I realized she is probably swamped preparing for WC. What works for you in these dark days?

    Intergalactic

I had a very emotional reaction to this one. Wet it smells like chewable vitamin C and rose hip tea. The scent memory it induced was so powerful it moved me to tears -- it smells exactly like my dearly departed great grandfather. Dry I can see where people get the hairspray note, but the wet stage is so moving, I just love this blend. When I close my eyes, I see my sweet great grandfather's face and hear his beautiful bird calls (he could whistle like dozens of birds!).

    Monster Bait: Underpants

Wet: Butter Rum Lifesavers Dry: totally swoon-worthy golden vanilla

    Beaver Moon 2005

Traditionally, Beaver Moon is named thus for a very obvious reason: during this time of year, beavers are hard at work building their dams and preparing for the onset of winter. Because it was too hard to resist, BPAL’s Beaver Moon is sillier, sleazier, and full of camp. This scent is of cheesecake and cupcakes, more in line with its cheekier connotations, and really hasn’t a damn thing to do with Luna at all! The best homemade vanilla cheesecake compete with buttery graham cracker crust. mmm!!!

    Succor

Olives from Provence! Not something I'd wear for perfume but a pleasant scent memory that relaxes me.

    Quietude

Herbal lavender. Worked well for my tension-induced migraine.

    Seasonal Affective Disorder

Spring has sprung and I am joyful! But here are my winter findings: Vampire Tears, Ahathoor, Hony Mone, Stress Relief, and Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo are all mood lifters for me. Basically citrus and jasmine are my friends. Dorian smelled yummy but made me sneeze.

    Embalming Fluid

Fresh and clean. This frimp from a Lushie was my introduction to BPAL. This is the one that got me interested!

    La Vita Nuova

Wet: fruity, tart not overly sweet. Reminds me of scented shampoo. I smell apple, lemon balm, grape. Dry: Light. Left with vague fresh clean scent. Very feminine, playful and yet I keep feeling like I am in the shower sudsing up my hair. Verdict: unsure. I think the rose is making me stuffy, although I cannot detect it in this blend.

    Love's Philosophy

In the bottle: rootbeer float with a sprig of mint Wet: mmm Vanilla. No wait, now there is some mint. No wait, now I smell ripe bananas?!?? Now I smell vanilla, brown sugar, bananas and something a bit spicy. Very warm and comforting - reminds me of vanilla/brown sugar/banana/cream/cinnamon on old fashioned oatmeal (yes, I put all that on my oatmeal). I know that sounds like an odd thing to want to smell like, but it is actually good! Dry: no more banana. Just creamy slightly sweet, very rich vanilla spice. *swoon* Verdict: My immediate reaction is to make grabby hands and order four of these.

    Good scents for travelling, vacations

Noche Buena comes to mind - a delightful floral that would be fun to wear in the evenings.

    Temple Viper

Snake Oil meets Midnight Mass. Yummy!

    Coral Snake (2006)

Wet & dry, this is fruity floral Snake Oil that makes me so happy!

    Antique Lace

Very sweet vanilla. Gets sweeter as it dries down.

    Bien Loin D'Ici

Swoon. This is a heady honey/resinous blend that makes me feel sophisticated and alluring.

    Snake Oil

Defies description. Mysterious, sensual, and an instant favorite, thanks to trying it in its aged form first.

    Dorian

Dorian smells lovely in the bottle but on my skin is quite masculine. I believe I am actually allergic to oakmoss because I got sniffly each time I wore this.

    TKO Massage Oil

I adore the Panacea TKO, so I thought the massage oil would be more of the same. It's not; it's better. Somehow being able to slather with abandon is more soothing. The scent is less sharply lavender than a fresk TKO perfume oil. This is a winner.

    Stress Relief Elixir

If TKO is Valium in a bottle, Stress Relief Elixir is Xanax in a bottle. The rose geranium in this blend reminds me of planting the first pots in the spring with my mom. It eases my Seasonal Affective Disorder by reminding me spring IS coming. This would make a great massage oil or bath oil! Thank you Beth. Can I buy a vat of this please?

    Shanghai Tunnel

Pirate ship. Salt air, ocean, weathered teak. You know that scene in POTC3 when the ship is sailing as the snow begins falling? That's what I smell. If I close my eyes, I see Capt Jack.

    Goneril

WET: Yup, this is a dark scent. I can smell the cedar. As it dries: the florals come out a bit but the cedar is still prominent. Dry: Evenly balanced between woody and floral, this is a dark, mysterious scent. A scent for women who like nearly black nailpolish and don't like to blend into the background. In short, for BPALers.

    Arkham

WET: Sweetly floral. So pretty! Oh no, there is birch in this? I am allergic to birch pollen so I wonder if this will make me sneezy... Dry: Very soft floral. I applied quite a lot (for testing, anyway) and it is faint upon drying. Pretty. Girlish. Would be equally at home on a woman as on a young girl. Verdict: a bit too faint for my tastes, which is surprising given how sharp it is in the imp.

    The Coiled Serpent

The Coiled Serpent Wet: medicinal, smoky. Smells like another oil, but I can't put my finger on it. Dry: still a bit medicinal. Woodsy. incensey. Seems like it would be long-wearing. A dab will do ya. As drydown continues, this blend becomes warmer (the vetivert coming out). LOVE. Reminds me of Lush Rainbow Worrier. Not exactly the same but in the family, if you know what I mean. Interesting to note it is supposed to help with sciatica, because I am having a huge issue with that right now. Perhaps not a coincidence this was my random imp grab today? Hmm...
