  1. This is technically the second time I tried this, but the first time I got to enjoy it all by itself. When I got my order of imps, I pulled the top out and managed to get it all over my thumb when I was already wearing White Rabbit.

Anyway, by itself, it goes on smelling strongly of angel-food cake. After it dries down, the currents come out, adding a nice berry note at the end of a sniff. It doesn't smell plasticky on me, as I've seen in other complaints.

It's lasted about 6 hours at this point, but now mostly smells like the vanilla, with little of the current left. It's pleasant even without the fruit.

This may be a bottle purchase. I like this one.

  2. In the bottle, this one smelled fruity and good, but as soon as it hit my wrist, my immediate thought was "I've made a huge mistake."

On me, it took on the smell of some kind of scented bathroom cleaner. I put my wrists in front of my fiancee's nose and his two-word review was "urinal cakes." The scent has gotten less strong, but continues to be bathroom-like.

This one's hitting my trade pile.

  3. The second I opened the imp this came in, I knew I'd like this one. In the bottle it smelled like a particular pumpkin spice candle I have (so I see where a lot of people are getting the comparison to a Yankee Candle store).

On my wrist, it started very buttery with just a hint of the pumpkin, but over the last few hours it has melted away somewhat, allowing the clove and nutmeg to take over. It's still semi-buttery (my fiancee said it reminded him of sugar cookies), so the pumpkin smell isn't that strong, but it's a nice sweet smell that I would definitely like to get a whole bottle of.

A little of this seems to make alot of smell, so believe the other posters who've advised not to put a lot on at once.

  4. White Rabbit is the scent that got me to finally place an order after friends of mine had been raving about BPAL for over a year. I didn't end up totally disappointed, but I think a sample size is suitable enough for me with this one.

In the bottle, it smelled like clean (the linen smell) with a hint of vanilla. When I put it on, I found it very pleasant, although a little strong at first (I seem to think this of most things, though.)

After several hours, what remained was mostly the linen smell. This somehow reminded me of my grandmother, which was actually kind of comforting, but not something I'd want to smell like all the time. It was nice, but I don't think it's something I'd want a whole bottle of. I'm keeping the imp, though.

I will give this one another try, though-- I may have put a bit too much on.

Update on this one, 4/15 - I tried this again on Friday and it worked a lot better. It's growing on me somewhat, and might be a good choice for when I want to wear something not quite as foody.

  5. First order, third imp I tried, first review:

I have to say I wasn't a fan of this one. I get a very strong, almost floral scent out of it right out of the bottle, and immediately applied it was almost stifling. My fiancee took a sniff of it and agreed on the floral smell.

I'm now several hours in, and the smell has mellowed quite a bit into a much more pleasant smell that is a bit more like how I thought it would smell. I can even detect the strawberry notes, which were clouded previously by the indeterminable floral odor. However, it just doesn't seem "me" regardless, so I'll probably trade this one away.
