Pumpkin I reminded me a lot of Purple Phoenix--I guess it's the grapes. Pumpkin II - I don't know why tobacco notes work so well on me when I hate smoking but this is my favorite punkie. Pumpkin III - too chocolatey for me--foody smells and I don't get along. Pumpkin IV - agree with the poster who mentioned the green notes; they make this one a little sharper than I like. Pumpkin V - the ginger gives this one a nice kick on me. Overall II is my fave, with V second, and IV third.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
dixiehellcat replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
Working on enabling a co worker--she gave me an empty bottle of a scent Wild Oats used to sell called Wildscents Warmth. The label says it has/d notes of vanilla and sandalwood. She says she has tried mixing the 2 fragrance oils but hasn't been able to reproduce the perfume. Anybody ever smell this, or have any ideas? -
(adds name to bottle wanting list) That is too darn cute to be allowed.

I got my bottle today, and I am so happy I chose this one out of all the Weenies to buy a full 5 ml of. It is amazing. Spicy and smoky and slightly sweet. Wonderfully fallish. After I get my buttload of decants of other Weenies and decide if I want more of any of them, I may have to get myself another bottle of Samhain too. It's flove, I tell ya.

I get the citrus first too! Nice and not cleaning-product smelling . And a bare whiff of the mint. I'm afraid it may not last on me...here's hoping otherwise.
-
Not what I expected either! I got an imp just out of curiosity, positive that not one of the notes would work on me...and by dern, the blend is marvy. Just sneaks up and takes ya prisoner. [/bad metaphor] The tonka and rum are the main notes on me, but not in a boozy way, more a pleasantly spicy-sweet way. Very nice.

I got a sniffie of this frimped in a swap, took a whif and said 'nah, foody, foody baaad for Dixie' and put it away in the swap box. Then last weekend while the Halloweenie update stalking party was going on, I pulled it out and coaxed enough scent to put on my wrist. OMGWTFBBQ. The pumpkin and peach are so nicely balanced by the spices that I CAN ACTUALLY WEAR IT. And love it. I just ordered an imp to be sure it isn't a fluke, but this may end up being a go-to scent for autumn. Right now I am me some Jack.

This one's reputation precedes it. In the imp it is indeed seriously foody. And foody scents and I don't get along at all, so I only dabbed a bit on cuz it's a sniffie circle, right, and I have to review. Taking one for the team, I go in. On my arm, oddly enough, it was very nice! I got a strong hint of caramel and/or honey, I think. Not as much of the fruity thing as some people have reported. If it were an LE I could get hold of, I might just want to own an imp or 2. It's a foody I could conceivably wear. Not one I'll and yearn for, though.

In the imp, white flowers, but I don't get the jasmine! And I love jasmine. I was so looking forward to it. Oh well. I dab on anyway. On the arm, still nice white flowers. Very light. Doesn't last long on me in fact. This makes my paypal account happy.
-
In the imp, slightly foody, which turns me off, but hey, it's the only chance I'm ever likely to have to smell it, so I bravely dab some on anyway. On me, spicy floral notes start to come out. Almost carnation-y, but without the weird greenish ick that carnation scents often turn on my skin. This is really the only C13 I wouldn't mind owning some of, especially if it lasted longer on me.

In the imp, a little floral, a little more woodsy. Lovely blending. On me, SANDALWOOD. Very pleasant, but not nearly as much so as my dear GC gurrlfriend Anne Bonny. I won't be selling off first edition Stephen Kings to buy this. If you get a chance to smell it though, I do recoomend you do, as it really is nice.

Otherworldy golden incense, blooming wind-flowers, everlasting lavender, bluebell, a faint whiff of exotic sugared candies, and fae mist upon wet green grass. In the imp, lightly sweet and floral. On arm, that lasts about 3 minutes before it turns to pure baby powder. Wah! Fortunately, I have a friend who adores baby powder scent...this goes to her when I see her in a coupla weeks.

Somehow when reading about this I missed the ginger mention, despite the fact that the ginger element of Vixen is part of what makes it one of my absolute faves. I got a sniffie in a swap, with a few drops in the bottom. I sniffed the imp, went 'beh' and set it aside. Last weekend going thru my storage I found it and dabbed a bit on...and 30 minutes later I was desperately trolling the swap forum looking for more, because it ROCKED. The ginger blending with spice and resin worked so well on me, not foody at all, a good thing since foody and I don't speak, and lasted all evening! (have you ever tried to type with one hand while the other wrist is glued to your nose?...well, ok, around here, maybe people have. ) I didn't get any green, just the warm dark stuff. GUH. Yummy. Mine!! The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young is my friend.

... Honey mead with honeysuckle, oak wood, ivy leaf, wild thyme, carnation, daisy, vervain, gum arabic, frankincense, yauhtli, and liquid copal. OH MY. This is sooo nice! In the imp it smelled very light, so much so that I was afraid it would die on me right away, but after just a few minutes this glorious scent came wafting up from my arm & my nose was stuck to my wrist for the rest of the evening...not that it needed to be exactly, since it has great throw! I caught the honey, hints of floral and spice and of incense, which kind of grounded the whole thing for me, as I love incense notes. GUH. Must find more than this loverly but lonely imp.

The search for "Clean" scents - general discussion
dixiehellcat replied to Vicious Mistress's topic in Recommendations
When I want a light scent 51 does it for me, as does Shattered. Dirty is totally the 'clean cotton' smell to me though, so that might be what you have in mind. -
In bottle--very light, green...yall may think I'm crazy, but it smells the way my hands used to when I was a kid and caught lightning bugs. On arm--beh. Kinda boring, actually. Which may just be me, since its more-or-less namesake bores the crap out of me too. lol I was so hoping it really would remind me of Stardust 'cuz I love Stardust. But not so, sadly.

I swapped for this just out of curiosity, since these are about to be discontinued; and because I'm reading the Kushiel fantasy series, in which Naamah plays a great role. I've never smelled most of the scents people have been comparing this to (Hellion, Snake Charmer) but I did catch the plummy note right off when I opened the decant I got--it reminded me a bit of my beloved Kitsune-Tsuki. On my arm, the incensey and spicy notes come out after a few minutes and the fruit fades to the background, but subtly hangs around. It's lovely...and to think I only have, what, 2 days to decide whether to buy a bottle??

I got this one this weekend from my Switch Witch, the last dragon scent that completed my set. Dragons blood and sandalwood, 2 of my absolute favorite notes, and they work together VERY nicely. Maybe a big bottle of this in my future.
-
Of all the dragon scents, this one is my favorite. I love how the florals play off the dragons blood. It was part of my very first Lab order, and after one wearing I bought a big bottle. It's flove, I tell ya.

What Porcelina said, pretty much. I love dragons so I had to have at least an imp of all the Ars Draconis...and now that I do I started sorting them by preference. Dragons Milk is definitely one of my faves! The resin helps to balance out the honey and vanilla on me, because sweet scents don't work on me often. This I love. Big bottle in my future too, methinks.

In imp--strong sense of orange blossom. Wet--I get a hint of spice too, as somebody upthread said. Not great, but not bad. I like patchouli, but don't smell it at all in here. As it dries I like it a bit better...reminds me of a lesser version of my beloved Vixen. Verdict--I'll keep it against the awful day I run out of Vixen and have to wait for a Lab order.

(waves to cranberry) The previous scents I've tried that contained rose didn't smell like rose on me at all, strangely. Now this, this smells like rose. Like my favorite rose body stuff I got last Christmas from a dear friend. Rose and nuttin but rose. hehe. Very nice for when I am in that mood.

I agree that oddly since it's supposed to be a fall moon, Kindly Moon smells totaly springy to me! The florals aren't overpowering, which is good for me; the fruity whiff I get balances them out. And I swear I smell a hint of something alcoholic. lol! All in all it is wonderful, the only moon I've tried so far that I LOOOOVE.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

The first time I put on Anne Bonny, I went out to eat with my dad & was downright embarrassed...all these cute young waiter-boys kept hovering around me like bumblebees! -
I got a frimp of this from the Lab last night. Opened it up & was knocked flat by the citrusy-ness of it all. But I summoned up my courage & dabbed a bit on. After a few minutes, the citrus has tamed down considerably & the florals are coming out. I think the particularly pleasing note to my nose must be the jasmine. I guess my contrary nature is coming out now...I see that it doesn't work on quite a few folks, but on me it's very very nice! Most of the scents I've fallen for so far have been heavier, and the lighter stuff often doesn't last on me. I think this one will though! Not sure yet if I'll want a bottle, but I'll spend some quality time with this little frimp & see where things lead.
