First reaction: NYOM NYOM NYOM Second reaction: Smells just like Miskatonic University got poured over a load of Rhys's Cups. It has that warm, comforting, and luxurious toffee popcorm scent, but the peanut brittle gives it a little something extra. Still warm, but if anything more foody! I'd definitely say this is one for lovers of Miskatonic University. It's very strong in the bottle, and stays strong during drydown, but sadly it didn't last very long at all on my skin. This is definitely one for the scent locket, or for slathering!

This is one of the strangest scents I have ever encountered. In the bottle: Blue cheese. I kid you not. it really smells like blue cheese to me. Wet: Overpowering smell of bubble gum, the kind that looks like a spiky snowball and tastes plasticky. If you don't know what I mean, it might be that this kind of bubble gum was only sold in the UK. Dry: An utterly gorgeous, slightly naughty vanilla. The saffron comes out to play, and the plasticky and cheese notes have totally vanished! I'm now going to try it in the scent locket... Hmm, I don't think this one is going to work unless on my skin. In the scent locket, it retains a whiff of blue cheese and a bit of the bubble gum scent. *leaves it for a while* Nope, it definitely needs the skin to morph into something enjoyable. It's sad that it doesn't have a great throw or wearlength, at least not on me! All in all, this is a lovely scent, but one that really doesn't work well in a scent locket.

I found the mint very sharp and fresh when wet, cutting quite harshly through the vanilla. But it dried down to a gorgeous creamy vanilla with a subtle lick of mint on top. It lasted for four hours on me before fading, and mmmmm, it's so nice...

This is pre-revolutionary France, a very powdery-pastel and feminine scent which puts me in mind of sacque back dresses, tight stays and lace trimmed silks. When wet, it's a fresh and flowery scent. When it dries down, something soft and powdery emerges, but I've never found it to be cloying. It lasts well, but not as well as some, and sometimes has to be reapplied after a few hours. I usually dislike things that have the same name as me, but this is a big exception. When I wear this, I go around with my nose stuck to my wrist, it's gorgeous.

This is one of very few scents I've tried that's the same to me in the bottle as it is on my skin. To sum it up in two words: toffee popcorn. It has a lick of creamy burnt sugar and nothing of coffee or any of the notes other people have found in it. If it's any help, I have the kind of skin chemistry that turns some scents to pure marzipan, so it could be that there's a similar thing going on with this one! It has a long throw and lasts well on me. This was my first BPAL love and the first 5ml bottle I bought. And when it runs out, as I'm sure it will, I will definitely buy more.

On me, this starts off smelling almost overpoweringly of a good quality red wine. No vinegary notes, but a rich and full bodied fruitness. It can be a bit much sometimes though! As it dries, it calms and can end up smelling either really fruity or very rosey with subtle overtones of fruit. I find that with this one a little goes a long way, although it was agony to make my frimp last until my 5ml arrived!
