A blend of sinuous violet and elegant tea rose: the chosen scent of France’s Demigoddess of Debauch: Marie Antoinette. A lovely, soft rose--not as strong or as liquid/cold/ozone-y as in The Rose or Peacock Queen for me, but the violet turns slightly off, it's usual soft powder is there but stale(?). Does not work for me.

I have a bottle that I got frimped (frottled?) in a swap labelled "Psychological Horror B-Movie Prototype (not for sale)"--so really not sure what is going on there...but the scent in the bottle matches the notes listed here and people's reviews, so I'm going to drop this one here (vs. B-Movie which seems to be incredibly foodie). On me, this is exactly described--predominately a creamy musk, not too warm, but very lovely, a skin scent if there ever was one. Whoever drew the connection to Buck Moon was spot on. A few hours after drydown, the soapy violet that had been lurking in the background comes out full force, almost medicinal and herbal. I love the long musk stage of this one, but since I have enough similar musk scents and I don't particularly like violet, I'll pass and let this one move to a new home.

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet--To Helen was my first-ever Lupercalia bottle and one of my first loves. I had completely forgotten about it until I was sorting through my collection and happened upon it. On me, this dries to a creamy, warm amber with an underlying powdered sweetness--maybe the beeswax(?)--and just a vague hint of something floral. The ozone and opaline notes don't come out for me, but I do feel like this scent clears my head/nose the way ozone often does, so it's hidden in there somewhere!

Pretty, deep velvety berry scent but not for me.

Warm, sweet musk, with a floral hint of orchid and juicy berry. Patchouli is not too overpowering, but may be too warm for me--something very sweet comes out on this for me. Remind me of Thanksgiving/Christmas.

Very pretty and light. A soft green, not too floral, slightly lemony. A bit too remniscent of "lemony fresh" household cleaner (but much prettier) for me to wear.
-
Smells like a sweeter, more natural version of BBW Sun Ripened Raspberries, pretty but I am moving away from foodie scents.
-
All patchouli and sandalwood--smoky and spicy and fresh, maybe a good men's scent but not for me.
-
Very spicy floral, almost like franincense over rose, a little too cloying and spicy scents are not for me.
-
Warm sharp, like sweet sawdust. Interesting but not for me!
-
I get roses and jasmine, but it turns cloying and old lady powdery on me.
-
Smells like a red hot candy on me--spicy and sugary. Gross.
-
I love this. I get primarily bright, fresh rose with a light musky background. Not at all spicy on me.
-
Actually nicer than I imagined, only slightly smoky in an attractive way. Smells fresh and clean almost but very masculine.
-
Lovely violet wrapped in a warm, dark musk. The neroli warms it up as well. Deep, warm and mysterious. Lovely, but not bottle-worthy for me.
-
Very spicy and warm myrrh. A little heavy and thick smelling, like Anubis but with a spicier, sharper background. Not for me.
-
Light, fresh soft baby smell. The ginger lends a sharpness, similar to a green floral note, almost slightly lemony. Soft, creamy background. A very pretty spring or summer scent. Maybe a little too sharp for me.
-
A soft, subtle jasmine. It doesn't have much throw on my skin and is a very light floral, just a breath of softness. Pretty.
-
Interesting. Warm and spicy floral. I can sense all the notes in this, but they're jumbled together. Not for me.
-
Starts off with a lovely mix of musks and jasmine, but dries down to a slightly soapy, herbal jasmine. Refreshing and slightly powdery. Very soothing, but not for me.

This is lovely--all sweet almonds with musk. Not overly sweet marzipan but lovely amaretto. Not sure if it's bottle-worthy but it is lovely.

in the bottle and wet: straight apple blossom, maybe with a hint of honey? but almost entirely apple blossom (one of my favorite notes, however, so I don't really mind!).
-
This scent doesn't really morph much on me--lucky because I love it as is! I get an amber base, with the sweetness of honey and the berries mixed in and the pine in the background. It's really well blended, and just smells very...deep? and pretty on me. It doesn't strike me as particularly "Christmas-y" but I can definitely see why others think so. I would recommend this scent to most anyone--it isn't too sweet, too woodsy, too foodie, etc. I am a huge fan!

This smells exactly like Lush's Buche de Noel facial cleanser/Santa's Rice Porridge face mask! A delicious bowl of porridge kicked up with sweet spices and cranberries! A great scent for non-foodies and foodies alike!

in the bottle: I was sniffing this, intrigued, trying to figure out what it smelled like, when my sister came in and asked me if I was taking cough syrup. This smells like grape cough syrup, but apparently, I like the smell of cough syrup!
