    Manila

I couldn't tell this was banana until I looked at the notes. This scent is warm and a little fruity, reminiscent of Lampades, but I looooooove Lampades, whereas I only like this.

    The Caterpillar

I get little incense from this, it's a dark floral on me. I'm not sure if its the bergamot or dark mosses, but something in this is tempering the lighter carnation and jasmine into a much prettier, wet scent that I really like!

    Penitence

Veeeeerry spicey incense on me. Reminds me of going to the Buddhist temple with my parents as a child, the monks always smelled like this. Nice, but not my style.

    Leanan Sidhe

A slightly spicy, soapy floral. It reminds me a little of D&G Light Blue. Not for me.

    The Queen of Hearts

Sharp, sharp LILY. Wet, I get a hint of cherry, but after drydown it disappears completely into super strong LILY. After a while, the lily softens some what, but still too sharp and strong for me.

    Dragon's Milk

Vanilla, with a cherry-esque sweet background. Nice, but not amazing.

    Xiuhtecuhtli

This starts off a sweet, creamy orange, almost like an orangesicle. YUM! Strangely, it seems to almost completely disappear after less than an hour. I wish this scent lasted longer, otherwise I'd love a bottle! EDIT: After a second test, this is creamy orangesicle when wet, but as it dries the tropical bloom definitely comes out to play, its creamy and sweet and rich and a little nauseating.

    Black Pearl

Wow, I wonder if I'm wearing the same Black Pearl as everyone else here! I get coconut--strong coconut. It's a sweet scent, a little floral, but not something I'd immediately put into that category. It's a "sugary" scent, I don't know how to better describe it, it smells like candied coconut and sugared violets. Pretty and cute, but not for me. Maybe something I'd give to my younger sister! EDIT: On a second test, Black Pearl smells much the same, almost like some generic Bath and Body Works scent (Warm Vanilla Sugar?). Pretty, but nothing special.

    Vixen

I've been testing scents out lately, so I put Vixen on one wrist and Xiuhtecuhtli on the other, not realizing that they both shared similar orange notes. Later, I wasn't sure if I'd mixed the two or not! Starts off orange blossom, very sweet, but then morphs into patchouli with a hint of ginger, very little orange blossom as a background. I don't get "sexy" from this at all, just a little bitter and musky. edit: After a long dry down, the bitterness of this has definitely tempered with the orange. It's become a warm, spicy sweet scent. Still, the middle stage is of long-lasting bitterness turns me off from a bottle, as I don't see my self being able look past it often enough to wear regularly. edit2: After leaving this over night, Vixen has turned into a beautifully sweet and creamy scent, almost in the same vein as Machu Pichu on me. I finally know what everyone is talking about! I'll keep the imp, but definitely apply the night before I intend to wear it.

    Pride

This is the same sharp rose I get from London and Peacock Queen. Lovely, and the narcissus sweetens it a bit, but still too sharp and rose-y for me. I'll take my Peacock Queen anyday.

    Jailbait

Starts off omg!bubblegum, but quickly morphs into an incredibly spicy scent, in the same clove-y family as March Hare turns into on me, almost Old Spice-y. Definitely not for me.

    O

This smells exactly like its description. At first, the amber drowns out anything else, as my skin tends to amp amber, which I'm not very fond of, but as it dries, the honey and vanilla come out to create a beautifully complex, sexy scent. Every time I sniff, I get a whiff of amber followed separately by the vanilla, it surprises me a little. Definitely keeping the imp, considering a bottle!

    Hurricane

This smells disgusting on me, I think I can firmly say that vetivert and I are not friends. Bitter, harsh, metallic scent, yet somehow still comes off slightly nutty(?), it's making me sick.

    Pannychis

This was a very bright, white floral on me. It's almost all jasmine and ylang ylang, though lily and moonflower might be in there as well (once a few florals get mixed together, my nose can't distinguish one from the next). This is not at all a "heavy" floral, but something in it is different from the light scents I usually favor. I'll pass.

    Kubla Khan

I get a mix of smoky opium incense and amber from this. It's a cool, dry scent and definitely very interesting. If I sniff hard, I can get just the barest hint of lily, but not much. The leather comes through in this scent as well. The description is apt, but the scent alas, is not for me.

    Himerus

Wet, this was almost sickly sweet, from what I assume is the orchid and red musk. As it dried, the juniper came out to temper the sweetness, as did the sandalwood and rosewood, but in the end it was just too sweet for me. EDIT: Okay, late late late into dry down, the notes began to blend beautifully. The sickly sweetness tempered down into a beautifully sweet, pretty, almost fruity floral. Still not enough for me to want a bottle, but pretty enough to recommend to a friend!

    Centzon Totochtin

Wet, this is straight chocolate--very rich and dark, almost Nutella like at times. As it dries, the other notes come into the background to form a more perfume-y scent. Dry, the chocolate blooms and becomes less in-your-face, and the other notes, predominately red wine come out more as well, enveloping the chocolate. Nice, but not for me.

    Lampades

Lampades smells exactly like its description on me, but notably less fruity than it is on other reviewers. Wet, it smells sweet, but not overly so, which must be the cranberry. As soon as its dry though, the scent morphs and loses all of it's fruity sweetness, the smokiness of the lilies definitely comes out, but its lovely, as well as the musk and spices. It's a warm, dry scent. Over time the musk and smokiness fade out and a sweet, almost creamy floral takes over. Overall, I really like this scent in all of its stages, definitely a keeper! EDIT: years later and a new imp, still much the same. not sure if I love it quite as much, but it is lovely. smoky skin musk floral. EDIT: Sad to say, I've fallen out of love with Lampades! I keep trying and trying, but all I get is powdery grape kool-aid.

    Bathsheba

Wet, this had a very young, green floral, which I'm assuming is the carnation. As it dried, the plum came out more, but not a ripe, juicy plum, just a slight accent to the musk, which is what really came out on me. This scent was warm and calming, almost a little incense-y (but not really). It's mostly musk with accents of plum and spice, the carnations don't really seem to be coming out at all. It's a beautiful, mature scent and very calming, I put this on before bed and immediately felt more restful, but for day-wear I think it's just a little too mature for me. I could definitely see myself wearing this in the future as a more mature, confident woman. I don't find this particularly floral or fruity, mostly musky and resinous. It's a deep, simple and subtly sexy scent, not in-your-face, but rather lazily drifting by to catch your attention. Definitely growing on me, and very different from my usual light florals! EDIT: On second test, this is pretty much the same as above, mostly incense with a plummy carnation top note, the plum is almost a dried plub and the carnation only a little spicy. It's very pretty and a lovely scent, but just not something I'd wear.

    Kabuki

This smells strikingly similar to cherry cough syrup wet, and retains that sticky, sweet cherry, although it fades behind the musk and anise more and more as it dries. A few hours later, it's all musk and no cherry. Not for me at all.

    London

Not a typical rose! I put this on without reading the description and wouldn't have guessed rose was the main component. On me, this is a crisp, sharp scent, almost slightly aquatic, slightly lemon-y(?) with a floral-rose background that begins to bloom as it dries. The rose comes out more and more, but still remains very crisp and almost hard, if I sniff my wrist directly it almost feels as if the scent hurts. Image-wise, wet and in the imp this smells like crisp, hard rain drops falling on a cold, foggy, grey-silver day. After dry-down, a very "prim and proper" scent, like the sort of high society girl that looks down her nose at you. I like this scent: clean, cold and elegant, but I'm not sure if it's worth a bottle, as it's not something I see myself reaching for often. I get no leather/plastic at all from this. On second thought, I think this shares the same rose as Peacock Queen 07--I can definitely smell a similar note between the two, but London noticeably lacks the "powdery" note of Peacock Queen and is much sharper. Probably not worth the bottle, as I like PQ more and already have a bottle. Maybe a GC equivalent of PQ for when/if I run out.

    Skuld

Wet, this smelled like sugary, sweet grape juice or cough syrup. As it dried, the ylang ylang came out more and mingled with the musk, making it a much more subdued smell. Dry, it turned a little powder-y, but not baby powder. A light, elegant slightly powdery floral, overall a very faint, light scent. I actually ended up liking this very much, though I'm not sure powdery-elegant is for me. EDIT: Sweet grape powder, almost like Kool Aid mix but less sweet and more subdued, not for me.

    Regan

Regan is a very warm, thick golden vanilla. I get the orchids and what must be the stephanotis, as well as a slightly powdery undertone, but combined with the vanilla I feel like its so sweet and cloistering that it's making me nauseous. A very sweet, warm scent, but just not for me. edit: After dry down, this scent lightens up a bit and becomes a much lighter floral similar to Rosalind, but much less green and still very warm. Nicer, but still not a favorite.

    Destroying Angel

On me, it's sharp and green and a little ozone-y (I guess this must be the papery whites), with barely a hint of dirt underneath. It smells very much like a biting green floral, and clean like someone mentioned earlier.

    Queen Mab

This reminds me of another BPAL I recently wore, though I can't remember which for the life of me (Ladon?). It's a very complex, deep scent. Floral and musky, but both balance each other out. It's sophisticated and mature, and turns more and more jasmine towards the end. I like it, but not enough for a bottle. EDIT: I am SO glad I gave this scent another shot, it's deep and floral and gorgeous. Very sexy! I love it!
