Once applied, it's rosey lemongrass. The jasmine is also there, but all it's doing is sharpening up the rose. The oil looks dark, and promises resins, however I am not getting any of the lovelyness that is sandalwood patchouli. I know it's there, and it's making the other notes a bit smokey, especially as it dries down, however it's mostly the lemongrass rose that I'm picking up. It's very nice though! It kind of reminds of of spa candles.

Oh Hellion how I love you, and your twin sister Hellion V2 If released Hellion is a boy, Hellion V2 is his sister. Spicy plums on top, smokey incense underneath. It's brighter than original Hellion, and when I do my side by side comparison, this is how it goes: H: Mmmm sandalwood, plums, spices and patchouli H2: mmmm PLUMS, sandalwood, spices, and maybe patchouli H: huh? I can't smell it anymore! H2: mmmm PLUMS, sandalwood, spices, and maybe patchouli It's very weird. Once I sniff H2, I can't smell O.G. Hellion anymore. I'm thinking it's because H2 is so much brighter with her plummyness, that it overshadows the lesser amount in released H. I still love my old school Hellion, and I love H2 as well. It's like trying to choose a favorite child. eta: forgot those spices! *noms arm*

Thanks to biz4brent for the lovely decant! This is the '08 version as well. Mmm! Once it hits my skin, I smell beeswax (or maybe it's the honey!), a touch of lovely pine-ish green scent (is that the balsam or the juniper?), and musky incense. The patchouli is not very prominent at all, instead it just hangs around in the background, making things a little sexy. I'm really diggin' on this one. I think I may have to stalk some sales threads for a bottle now.

This one is very interesting! This one breaks two rules to my skin chemistry. No myrrh, no vetiver. Once I put it on, I get a blast of sweet smelling pine. As it dries down, it gets a bit sweeter. It's almost like a slight vanilla musk layered over pine. Weird! I'm not wrinkling my nose and rushing off to wash it away. I actually... like it!! This one would smell great oh the DH!

When first applied, it's such almost a fruity sweet jasmine rose, with a smokey essence wafting around, and it smells sooooo nice... ...but then... as I huff.. I pick up that harsh myrrh note. Frankincense and I barely get along as it is, but myrrh? Not so much. When I'm not sniffing at my wrist, it's very beautiful (mainly because I can't pick up the myrrh) and I love it. I'd just have to refrain from huffing my self when I wear it, because I do love it at a distance!

Oh wow! I actually like this! A light haze of musk with citrusy-minty-leather and touched with clean fresh dirt. The ginger sweetens it up a little bit, so it's not so very manly. I'm not usually a fan of anything with notes of dirt swirling within, but this is nice! Hmm.. as it dries down, I seem to be amping the dirt note, but the ginger is still there keeping it from going to mud on my arm. I'll keep my decant and cherish it, as it is totally unique to what I usually wear

In the bottle, it's very light, but once I put it on - Bam!! It's opium/rose!! (This is an interesting development, because when I first purchased this bottle, it was all lotus on me.) As it starts to dry down, I am feeling the lotus sitting around the corner. It's very nice because it calms the opiumy rose down. I'm not picking up on much pine. I adore the labs pine note too. A bit later - aha!! The opium is fading to the background (but is still present). So now, it's a very perfumy rose, with a touch of lotus, and the smokeyness of opium jazzing things up. All in all, it's a very complex scent! I am happy I never swapped this away!!! It will be lovely to wear during the warmer months.

just like what everyone else has said... lemon lime skittles, key lime pie (minus the crust), lemon meringue, lemon or lime jelly bellys. It's all of that!! It makes my mouth water sniffin on it!!!
-
So lovely! I also pick up a snake oil vibe from this. The red musk, patchouli, and vanilla meld together so perfectly, and it's so warm and comforting. It has a pretty decent throw, and it has stayed with me for hours. Even though this is a rarity and a treat, I'm going to have trouble rationing this out.

First of all: Ahhh.. LOVE! I adore red musk, and Fenris Wolf doesn't disappoint. I also love red sandalwood... oh wow.. Fenris has that too? Well.. what do ya know!!! Amber is always lovely and it can play a wonderful counterpart to deep scented oils such as red musk and red sandalwood. The rosewood in this is beautiful as well. Not too rosie, not to woody. Just enough to keep this a uni sexual blend. Very warm and resinous. I am in lurrrve!!! I bet that this ages into something so beautiful. My imp is brand new. I think I'm going to have to see if I can find an aged imp as well to compare. There's something sharp floating around. I think it just needs to calm down a bit. I'll put it on the shelf for a couple of months and see what happens!

Wet in the imp, it's yummy semi sweet chocolate and spices. Applied.. Holy love! This is amazing! It's a cinnamon that's well behaved. It's probably the cocoa that's keeping the cinnamon from going out of control. It's a bit foody/drinky (as others have noted as well) but I love it! I usually do not get along with foodies, but this is loving me! As it dries down, it becomes less foody/drinky but it retains the cinnamon note on top (thought it is still in control!) I smell some sugary citrus lying dormant under the cinnamon (must be that agave wine!) All in all, this is totally bottle worthy!

wet, this has that scent that you get when you walk into a petting zoo, but sweetened up a bit. I love it so far. It's earthy, and spicy! As it dries down , the animals leave the petting zoo, but the underlying essence of petting zoo is still wafting around. This is probably what a traveling gyspy circus would smell like. Earthy, laden with spices, and a haze of incensey smoke. Dry, it's not much different from the dry down. I like it a lot!!!

I picked up cloves as well, and now that it has ben mentioned, I'm also picking up tobacco. This actually reminds me a bit of Velvet Bandito!
-
I loveeeeee the plum in Hellion. That has to be the best plum scent ever.
-
WOW! Another winner with the Velvets!! I placed my order for decants, and thought that I probably wouldn't care for this one. Wrong!! I too smell spices and cloves! The first thing I thought of was actually this hard candy my grandma had (you know those candies that stick together in the crystal jar and you have to hammer it apart?) It's actually a little spearminty? : I can't place it, but it's something that's spicy! Overall, this is a winner. Not too manly and obviously not going to be girly It's a sweetness that is not foody (probably the tobacco), spicy, and will be mine!

Holy cow! This is by far the best freaking candy scent ever! I can actually smell the zing you get on the tip of your tongue when you eat sour patch cotton candy!! Sour patch kids cotton candy!! The kind that you get at the movie theaters!!! I am in The sourness is lemony, with the tart of the cherry fluff, and a lil cotton candy to smooth it down and keep it from becoming overwhelmingly sweet! Big Bottle fo sho!

wowowowowow!! I purchased a nicely aged bottle of Sin and holysmokes! First of all... this oil is thick and dark. I'm not sure if this is due to the age (cobalt bottle baby!) Aged lovely patchouli dark and smooth, with the sweetness of amber to keep it from becoming too dark and manly. The cinnamon is apparent, but subtle... so it isn't burning my skin off. Verditct? Made of teh sex baby!

The High Priest Not To Be Described
heathercaley replied to Nightgaunt's topic in Discontinued Scents
I received this one as a frimp. I totally would not have thought that this is something I would like (blood musk doesn't sound too appealing). What an epic fail on my part.... This is a wonderful incense blend! Sweet spices, smokey incense, and a touch of a muskyish undertone. Completely in love!!! It kind of reminds me of Gypsy Queen, but with a hint of something fruity. -
Mmm!! I love this one!! sweet cool mint with warm amber in the background and a bit o'blackburry to sweetin' in up!!Once it dries down, it's a minty/warm and sweet incense. And its gooooood!!
-
Its a musty lemony verbena-ey smokey (I'm guessing that's the incense part of it all) blend. Very clean, but not astringent clean. It reminds me of the spa, after you come out of the wet sauna and drink some lemon myrtle tea. Lovely!!
-
in the imp: Spices and flowers with incense Wet on the skin: it smells like spices and oddly suntan lotion-ish? Not the coconut oil suntanning stuff, but the white lotion. dry: not much different than wet. It's actually evocative of some of the best days I've had where I'm relaxing on holiday somewhere away from home. It smells like a far away place that has history and old homes that have been around for centuries. Spices, subtle sweetness, and rich round amber. Verdict. Love it, but won't be needin a bottle

Plummy incense! Just as everyone else says To me, this is reminiscent of Bordello, just not as thick and sweet. Makhanitis keeps the plum note on the very top and has a lot of staying power. I'm amping the plum so I'm not experiencing any morphing saddness. It is lovely though!!
-
I picked this one up at the trunk show! When I first put it on, I got a huge flash of resins and incense. Not too much fruit. As it dried down, I got a touch of the plummyness that people connected with hellion and Snake Charmer, however on me this doesn't remind me of either (seperate or lovechild). It's been about an hour and a half and it's pretty much faded to a slightly spicey, powder soft, resiny incense. The throw isn't intense and it sticks very close to my skin. I am not sure if this is an aged batch. I hope it isn't so that I can age it and see what will become of it!
-
At first, I get pink pepper (mmm sweet spices!)mixed with a sweet slightly sugar berry scent (not overly fruity though.. just a pinch worth) But as it dries down (it's been almost an hour) all the sweet fruit and pepper fade away into a dusty rose scent. It's almost soapy but not quite. It sticks pretty close to the skin and doesn't have much throw. It would be so lovely if it could retain its initial blast of spices and fruit!! darn chemistry! Well, it was lovely while it lasted!

Such a lovely blend. Soft vanilla tea with just a pinch of rose. Enough to give it a warm sweetness that only a rose blend can give. It's not as complex as Red Rose, but it's still beautiful. It reminds me of a luke warm tea that I might drink while sitting under the sun in hawaii. Don't know why I get that feeling with it, but I do It's the perfect simple companion to Red Rose. By itself, it's grace and elegance. But paired with Red Rose, it makes it a perfect and unique blend.
