Initial Impression: pine On Wet: Pine, musk. Later I smell some cypress and juniper. On Dry: Forest, musk, hint of ambergris. Final Impression: a very masculine scent, but I really love this! Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 4

Initial Impression: pale flowers On Wet: pale flowers, ginger, musk On Dry: smells exactly like The Body Shop's White Musk Final Impression: Light throw, but very lovely! Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 4

Initial Impression: chocolate On Wet: chocolate, tart berries, roses On Dry: roses with some chocolate and a hint of berry Final Impression: I don't usually like chocolate-y scents, but this one was ok. Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 3

The lust incense of a corrupted Astarte. A blend of ritual herbs and dark resins, shot through with three gingers and aphrodisiacal spices. Initial Impression: gingery and spicy On Wet: buttery gingersnaps On Dry: all of the spices, none of the butter. Yum! Final Impression: Loved the drydown, but still prefer Gingerbread Poppet. Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 4.5

Initial Impression: tea and leather On Wet: Earl Gray tea and leather On Dry: tea and leather Final Impression: there was an odd licorice and lemon stage in there, but I'm glad I stuck it out because it turned quite nice in the end. Light throw. Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 3

Initial Impression: candied orange On Wet: mandarin, tonka, spice, hint of cocoa, tea On Dry: tea, mandarin, tonka, cocoa, musk, hint of spiciness Final Impression: smooth, sweet, but balanced by the brightness that the mandarin brings and the heat from the spice Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 4

My nose is a bit off from a slight cold or allergies-- I'm not sure which-- so I tried to do my best with this review. Initial Impression: fruity, peach, bubbly. On Wet: peach, hint of rose On Dry: musk and honey Final Impression: Yum! This is a seriously sexy and delicious scent. I didn't expect that from its beginning stages. Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 5. Definitely a big bottle purchase.

Initial Impression: lemony On Wet: lavender, lemongrass or verbena, and sometimes something minty or peppery On Dry: zzzzzzzzzzz.. Never got to dry-down. Final Impression: I had the most amazing and unusual dreams with this and have had much fun deciphering them. This stuff works! Also, I've never fallen asleep so quickly and had such a restful night's sleep before. Amazing! Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 5. Definitely a big bottle purchase. I only wish I'd tried this sooner.

Initial Impression: deep, dark, hint of smoke On Wet: floral, deep purple On Dry: sweeter, more complex, deeper Final Impression: One of the hardest scents to describe. All I can say is that it smells like dark purple with swirls of black. Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 3

Initial Impression: spices and honey On Wet: Umm.. Not to sound like a stoner, but this totally smells like pot resin. Just sayin'. On Dry: green smelling, sweeter, like fresh-cut hay with a hint of spice. Final Impression: pretty in the drydown. Rating (on a scale from 1-5): 2.5

That's how I've been saying it so if you're wrong, then we're both wrong!

I tend to gravitate towards comfort scents when I'm feeling low. Alice is awesome because it's like a mix of gingerbread cookie and chai tea. It reminds me of my grandmother and makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in a big warm hug. Nocnitsa is another oddly comforting scent because it reminds me of the forest near my other grandparents' farm. It feels very soothing and quiet to me and just wearing it is like a walk in the woods. Vampire Tears really perks me up, but is, unfortunately, a LE. Fortunately, Embalming Fluid is kinda almost close maybe and I love it a whole lot. Croquet is also fantastically bubbly and citrus-y without being overwhelmingly tart.

I love White Rabbit for work. It smells very clean. Embalming Fluid is a close second. Very refreshing! I also like Alice because it's very light, but it does have a milk note that you don't like. I think you might like Aziraphale and perhaps Mr. Ibis because they seem to be very scholarly scents-- if you could call scents scholarly.

Thank you for your recommendations, lilirose. I'd never heard of the Fiery Wall of Protection sachet powder before and really think it's worth a try! Crucible of Courage sounds interesting as well. -

I'm looking for something for my son. A little background: He's eleven and has Asperger's and ADHD. He's very smart and sweet and because of the Asperger's, he tends to behave differently from the other children. This was fine when he was younger, but now it's getting him teased. The teasing isn't a huge problem, it's his reaction to the teasing. He becomes very upset-- angry, tearful, anxiety-ridden-- by the teasing and because of this, he is teased more. We're working on how he can deal with the teasing in a more effective way, but in the meantime, I was looking for a scent he could wear that might help calm him. I have Water of Notre Dame, but he'd balk at wearing that. It's far too floral for him. Any advice? -
Initial Impression: honey, something tart, something creamy On Wet: whiff of berry, cream, spice On Dry: honey, cream, spice, hint of berry Final Impression: Yum! I feel sexier wearing this. More centered. Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4.5

Initial Impression: wine On Wet: grape soda On Dry: grape soda with a dash of clove Final Impression: weird but interesting Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 3

Initial Impression: crocus and lilies On Wet: lovely white floral with a slight green tinge to it. Delicate. On Dry: all I can say is that it smells green and white to me and as delicate as the finest lace. Final Impression: I'm shocked that I love this so much. It's not typically something I'd wear at all. Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

Orchid tubers have been used extensively by witches in their love philtres, both to promote amorous attention and the attainment of true love, and, conversely, to wither misplaced passions and sever romantic bonds. This perfume is a dusky orchid, subdued and ethereal. Initial Impression: orchid, underlying sweetness I can't place On Wet: sweet, almost berry-like orchid. Very purple smelling. On Dry: nice throw, still has that lovely berry note to it Final Impression: gorgeous, great throw, nice fruity floral Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

Initial Impression: mossy, patchouli On Wet: soft patchouli (not amping at all-- nice!) and a creamy undertone that I assume is copal? On Dry: there's this beautiful earthy grittiness reminiscent of vetiver that the patchouli is playing off of nicely Final Impression: this is glorious stuff. All hail greed! Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 4

Initial Impression: chocolate On Wet: chocolate On Dry: very faint chocolate Final Impression: my skin doesn't seem to hold onto cocoa well and I don't care to smell like a candy bar Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 2
-
Initial Impression: myrrh, hint of cocoa On Wet: where'd it go? I smell only the barest hint of myrrh. On Dry: gone Final Impression: Damn. Rating (on a scale of 1-5): 1.5
