This was a surprise favorite that I ordered as an imp on a whim. I've learned I love jasmine and that's what hits me initially, it's a very bright, sweet and clean floral, on my skin it turns fruity but the jasmine is still there. There's also a lovely creamy musk that pulls forward after a bit and lingers. It reminds me of a bright spring afternoon just after a rain, when the sun is coming through the clouds and all the plum trees are blooming. I had to go and order a full bottle of this one.

I like this more than I thought I would. Out of the bottle I get sweetness and moss. It smells dark and kind of incense-y to me. I think the sweetness is the fig. On my skin it's a whole new thing! It turns clean-smelling, papery and herbal in the greenest sense. I can definitely get a citrus note in there too but with the herbal aspects it reminds me of lemon balm. After it dries it seems to settle down and that tea scent comes through. It smells more like black tea to me but maybe I'm making that up...like a black tea with lemon. Much crisper than I was anticipating and very unisex which I love. I think I would like it a lot on my partner. It goes very mild quickly, I don't know if I'd call it a favorite... but maybe it'll make a great non-offensive wear-to-work scent.

Out of the bottle this is fresh and green. I didn't get the mint notes that I read about here, more of a grassy stem note for me. On my skin it's nice pink rose, softer than Rose Red definitely, very feminine. I like that it isn't too sweet or heavy. After a few hours I could barely notice it, however I didn't put a lot on...I can smell it if I really sniff my wrist and it's gone a bit powdery and a little soapy (My skin seems to turn a lot of scents soapy ) after 7+ hours, still rose and green though. Of the rose scents that I've tried so far this one is a little too soft for me but it's still quite pleasant. Very girly. Edit: I think that soapiness is actually an underlying aquatic scent and it makes more sense to me, sort of like throwing roses into a frothy early-morning sea.

I am obsessed I'm going to have to search for more like this one. In the bottle I didn't understand it and it shocked me, I thought it was horrible to be honest, but after looking it up and realizing what I was smelling, it's amazing. It's very sharp and a bit chlorine-like before I put it on, sharp on the skin at first too, but it mellows into buttery old leather, motorcycles and sultry tobacco. The machine oil is so beautiful. It's like walking alone at night in a rough area, it's just rained, you've got a blade in your pocket and no fear in your heart. Tough, gives-no-fucks gritty. Masculine in the best way. I should say that I usually prefer scents geared towards men so perhaps I'm biased. But this is pretty unisex in my opinion. The only cons that I found was that I should use it sparingly, a little goes a long way for me and it was very hard to wash off. But a true 10/10 for me, I can't wait to find more with a similar vibe.

This review is for the 2007 version, it looks like there was a 2016 version as well which I'm happy about because the bottle I have is only half full and I think this is one of the most unique rose scents I've smelled. I'm glad to know that it persists and isn't entirely gone forever. Out of the bottle this is real, fresh rose, bright and just plucked. (It seems it aged well) A little extra green on my skin, a little antiseptic at first too, a bit soapy... but that fades. It's cold, a winter forest full of roses. It reminds me of the place I used to take ballet classes when I was a little girl, strangely. There's the authentic sourness that sometimes comes through with rose (At least to my nose) but it's very pleasant.

Out of the bottle: Lotus, I smell lotus. And something dark and murky, I can smell the saltiness and the wetness of this one. On my skin it goes much more salty and musky. There is a soapiness but I think I might like aquatic scents, this one is clean smelling but mysterious. Like jumping into a cold ocean at dusk. After it dried: It's sweeter and cleaner smelling, there's that musk again. It's more seabrine-y and frothy. I like it more on my skin than I thought I would.

Oh initially I love this one! I wasn't expecting to like the island scents but this one hits me out of the bottle with a sharp note of tangerine and an underlying sweetness of guava. I don't smell the booze just yet. On my skin it goes very summery and light. The tangerine is mellowed and I'm getting a more mango scent. Very soft, I suspect it will fade quickly, but I like it.

I inherited my mom's bpal collection and Bayou stood out to me immediately as one to try on my skin first. In the bottle Bayou instantly gives me hot house flowers, I can smell the heady dampness of a mossy swamp, I smell something gardenia-like or jasmine? But there's the earthiness at the end. Wet dirt. Mmm. On my skin initially it went soapy, not unpleasant, but soapy. Floral and a bit powdery? Then as it's settled and dried I can smell that earthiness and moss...Like walking down a dirt road in early summer when the sun is warming but everything is still green and damp. I like it so far. Edit: Unfortunately this one stayed pretty soapy on me and then dried and faded to a very soft floral. I was hoping that the mossiness would stand out more on my skin but it looks like it doesn't.
