I bought Smut 07 from someone on the forum selling it just because I liked the name . However, that turned out to be wonderful since I LOVES TEH SMUT! It's gorgeous. Very musky and dark (if this scent were a colour I'd say a deep burgandy) but has a boozeyness in the middle and sugary sweetness lurking behind. This smells great on me and I do get quite a lot of compliments wearing it. It has fantastic throw & staying power. It makes me feel sexy and more confident. This is the SEX. Seriously I think everyone should at least try an imp of this because it is the most obviously sexy smell I've ever smelt .

In the imp: Woahh strong smell of lots of food. I love foody scents & the initial smell in the imp was definately too much for me. Wet on my skin: It seems like a bunch of different food is trying to fight to come to the forefront. I smell pineapple, then toast, then cherry, then cake, then custard all screaming at me in different times. It all feels quite overwhelming at the stage but I persevered. Dry on my skin: This eventually dries down to a yummy toffee custard smell with a hint of cherry tart which is loveely. So glad I let it dry on my skin. This is a very comforting smell I find. I will definately use my imp & then may get a bottle.

In the imp: LAVENDER. Loud, herbal lavender. Wet on skin: Lavender calms down a bit and out pops a citrus smell which would be the lemon verbena I imagine. Dry: Quite subtle now can still smell the lavender above everything and the citrus but there's a hint of neroli in here too. Overall smells like a herbally floral. This is pleasant enough but not really my cup of tea at all in a perfume. Might give it another go otherwise it'll have to find another home.

In the imp: Really strong.. very strong typically 'perfumey' scent to me. Wet on skin: Still really strong and just perfumey.. wondering if this was going to go to soap on me. Dry: Finally after quite a while this blend calms down and seperates out to a pleasant soft, light white rose & salty aquatic. I'm glad I didn't wash this off because it does turn out to be quite nice. I keep getting a picture in my head of a watermill with hundreds of gentle, white roses grown around it. Overall I don't think this will turn into a 5ml bottle but it could be a scent I may grow to love. I will definately use my imp though.

The search for "Clean" scents - general discussion
Mixxi replied to Vicious Mistress's topic in Recommendations
I really like Dirty (A fresh, crisp white linen scent: perfectly clean, perfectly breezy.) It is the definition of a clean and fresh scent & something I would have never picked out for myself but ended up loving. I also like the Doormouse (A dizzying eddy of four teas brushed with light herbs and a breath of peony.) for something light & fresh. -
Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations
Mixxi replied to Morrighana's topic in Recommendations
If you like foodie scents (like me yay ) I'd also go for: Bliss - A shot of pure, self-indulgent euphoria! A scent that is very, very wicked in its own way: the serotonin-slathered scent of pure milk chocolate Gluttony - Thick, sugared and bloated with sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla, buttercream, and hops with pralines, hazelnut, toffee and caramel. Drink Me - (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast,) Eat Me - Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants March Hare - A twisted teatime tart: apricot and sweet clove. I know there are tons more but being quite the newbie myself these are the only ones I've tried. ETA: You might wanna take a look at this thread.. it's all about foody scents http://www.bpal.org/index.php?showtopic=13371 -
ROSES. Straight up many, many roses. But rose works with my skin chemistry so that is a good thing . Then there's a sort of smell you get after the initial roses which is a bit deeper.. I'm thinking that is the cinnamon. I'm quite liking this as it's most definately a dominant rose blend but with a little something extra to make it a bit deeper & a little sultry. This is definately not an innocent rose but it's not an overly sexy rose either if that makes sense. I'm not sure if this is 5ml material but I will certainly use my imp up & then make judgement if I need more!

I got frimped this by nursekins . Yay. This is such a lovely, light fragrance which suprisingly has quite a bit of throw on me. This smells so strangely familiar but I can't put my finger on it at all. It's a perfect balance between foody (milk & honey) and floral (carnation & rose) yet I couldn't class it as either really if that makes sense. Like others have said it's blended really well and it's hard to pick out single notes. It smells so innocent & fits the character of Alice really well I think. It's very comforting and a lovely daytime scent. I think I'll wear this one quite a lot & it's definately a 5ml purchase.

First word, WOW. This smells GREAT on me. Like a sweet dark musk with some rose & amber in there & something creamy in the background. I thought the name 'Arabian Nights' fitted really well as it definately had a sensual exotic feel to it. It had amazing throw & I could smell myself all night. I also got a compliment that I smelled good from my friend I was out with & my mother before I left. Anyway.. well I'm pretty sure this works . I was wearing a corset, a shortish leopard print skirt & black heels and I got so many looks last night... TONS more than usual. Men were looking at me & doing double takes & I got some wolf whistles in my direction! And a random man (not good looking AT ALL but hey) came up to me sitting with my friend & told me I had GREAT legs & that him & all his mates thought so too & hoped I was wearing stockings (& continued to chat to me for ages even though he could see I clearly wanted him to leave ) . And let me tell you I DO NOT HAVE GREAT LEGS. I am 5'3 with an abnormally long body for my height & fat short legs, haha. So this was definately something new. Then I went to another pub where my ex works & last time I saw him he paid no real attention to me & didn't really seem that bothered at all. This time however when he had short pauses when he was working he looked over & smiled at me. And then he came over, put his arm around me kept telling me he was really sorry for some things his friends said the other week & it was out of order (even though I provoked them as I was horrendously drunk ) & asked how I was & we chatted for a bit until he had to work again. Then me & my friend were going home to get the last bus I told my ex quickly I was going & he grabbed me in a hug, said bye & see you soon. This is coming from a guy who really hasn't paid me any attention for ages & has pretty much said before that he doesn't want to see me at all. Anyway when I was walking to my bus stop I got some more whistles & a random man in a suit came up to me & was talking to me saying I looked nice & where was I going & I was sort of like 'err.. home' so then he went off on his way when i sat at my bus stop. The bus came straight away and even on a the bus men were still looking at me and stuff but I was on the phone so didn't notice if anyone was trying to speak to me. Haha that was long! I NEED a bottle of this even for the scent alone but I'm sure even though I looked nicer than usual that night that it did have something to do with all the compliments that night as I also got compliments from some girls too. So yes Arabian Nights is a definate 10/10 for me. I'll just have to wear it on a busy Saturday night instead of a Thursday night & see what happens then.

Smells vauguely like orange blossom and patcholi and something darker and musky in the imp. Wet on my skin I smell soap... and something nice lurking in the background. I hoped this lurky background scent would come forward but as it dryed it just vanished and it left my wrist smelling like soap and baby powder. May try this one again sometime but for now it really just doesn't work with me.

I had my first job interview yesterday. It was a group one and I wore a little bit of Tokyo Stomp just because it's quite subtle and comforting. Seemed to have done the trick as I've been offered a second interview on my own! Yay.

I got to try this luckily as the lovely LauraB sent me a frimp! Anyways, my first ever BPAL review: In the imp: (this was before I read the notes) Fruity with something extra to tone down the sweetness a bit Wet on skin: The apritcot comes through strongly and the 'something extra' comes out clearly as spiciness which must be the cloves. It's very strong on me at the stage and the spiciness is a bit invasive and has a lot of throw. Dryed on skin: This warms and combines gorgeously together. It just smells so warm and comforting! The spiciness isn't invasive anymore as the fruitiness and spiciness balance each other out. Really lovely scent and my dad actually said it smelled lovely on my skin and he isn't usually one to make comments on perfume! I'm considering buying a full bottle
