Like those before me, I had thought THIS is what White Rabbit was going to be like, creamy, tea-y, musky and spicy...with some vanilla to smooth it all out. Instead, I have to saw that is what I WANT a Dorian to smell like. So GD yummy that you want and need more. Wet on the skin, I got the musk but that soon dried to a creamy chai almost. I did not care for Snake Oil or O, but this blend is the right amount of vanilla and spices. Love it

Dormouse, a 5ml ordered unsniffed. In the bottle-citrus On the skin, initial tea with citrus, very bright, like an Earl Grey, with loads of bergmont. LOVE that. Still wet it smells VERY much like the Demeter Earl Grey spray. As it drys, it looses some of the initial brightness and stays just citrusy with tea. Like an iced tea with lemon. Happy girl here!

Hmmm, I thought I has reviewed this beauty of a blend...well here it is Heaven. In. A. Bottle. Not like a perfume. This is just how my neice smells. She is 4 and blond and looks like an angel. Kind of a poofy lil girl. Fluffy. This is fluffy girls and happiness and clean little babes that are just perfect. I am getting a bottle. Really not a perfume, just a smell. Can't think of a better way to say it.

I loved the description of this oil. I only wish that I loved the blend itself. I found it very masculine and hard. Like a piece of wood. Strong. The drydown was better, just not me.
-
Stolen from review above, this is very much white sandalwood, vanilla and musk notes, with a hint of powdery finish at the end. I see how this COULD be masculine...but not sure. I will have to swipe some on the DH wrists when he returns home. Very lovely oil though. Another imp of this would be perfect.

In the imp, I had to seperate it from the rest of the imps. Not for playing mean, but for smelling like almonds. Then I put it on and it was a total change. Brilliant lemon oil. Very sharp. I did get a bit of the herbally past, which I love. Too soon though, it went very.....clean, on me. Like, lemon cleaner. Perhaps in a room fragrance?

Grapefriut. I am always looking for more citrus scents so this one was on my wishlist...thanks swap faery. Grapefruit peel, right away. Bright, almost picture that explosion of your fingernail as you open it. The grapefruit now is playing with some florals, that would be the apple bloosoms I suppose. No real ginger notes that I detect. Tea? My second favorite smell. It has yet to come out too. Perhaps in a slow dry down. LOVE IT. To me, I see it as the opposite in citrus families to the lovely Whitechapel. That is a green citrus, lime and this is beautiful, juicy grapefruit. Need more soon.

Sweet creamy musk. It is the smell of warmth, like the walls buildings in the sun-baked city. Very nice.

I see that it is no longer available...I wonder why?

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

Echoing what has been posted above but Spellbound is down-right SEXY. Where the very idea of clothing next to your skin as you wear the oil is too much. You need only this oil and sweat...the good kind. That gives your face a blush. I love it, as does my man. 10ml bottle on the way. -
The scent of tea - BPAL's tea note, BPAL blends like your favorite tea
SoapyRN replied to sarada's topic in Recommendations
This was my tea note post I made on Tuesday http://www.bpal.org/index.php?s...44entry163444 I think I picked some of the more tea note oils. The Dormouse has four teas in it. Buying this unsniffed. Good luck -
Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

King of Diamonds=Chypre...not suprising as it is a note mentioned, but totally dead on Chypre, now discontinued...but I own! -
Chocolate and Cocoa, in every combination possible
SoapyRN replied to mand's topic in Recommendations
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, feelin' too lazy to look...but I discovered last night that to me...La Petit Mort is so much like a big sister to Kali with a VERY subduded chocolate note. -
I bought an imp of Somnus and love it. I combine that with Chypre, nearly completely lavendar and think it relaxes me, but doesn't knock me out. I am a HORRIBLE insomniac. Lovely blend, btw.

I thought that I would be able to wear jasmine. I adore the smell of the flowers. I will drink any tea that contains jasmine. This was just to strong for me. Too much of a cloyish blossom. I imgaine a very large, fully ripe jasmine being run up and down my body. Rubbed more like it, with lots of friction. If you like this in your perfume, you will have found heaven. I think it is too much for me.

Hee Hee. This was a freebie in the last order, danke! I gave myself several days before trying this one out. In the bottle, it was a sharp citrus floral mixture. I read the BPAL description and see that it is labeled as a gentlemens blend. I am not letting my dh NEAR this. All mine. As it drys, I smell the floral....and then, WHITE MUSK. Before BPAL, I could only wear white musk. I think this is my signature scent. 5ml..check. 10ml...perhaps!

I can't add more than what has been said already. Floral notes. Basically, the BPAL description is, as they say, "Dead on balls accurate." * *Stolen from My Cousin Vinny!

The way this dries down. Spicy smoke, with a sweet bit threaded through. Oi, that is such a goofy review. I really like this. It is complex, perfect for the change in the weather. Makes you feel warmer wearing it.

I was so excited to get this. I think in my excitement, I overlooked the fact that this was FOOD based. What a knucklehead I am. Too buttery, too wet, too much like the spiced pumpkin I make during the holidays. Silly me! Chemistry is such an odd thing, as it is a lovely scent on other people.

Thanks to a swap with Penance, I have a tarted imp of this wonderful perfume. In the bottle: a can smell the sandlewood with a touch of floral notes, not overwhelming sandlewood either. On the skin, wet: Oh my. Rich and heady floral. Wet, fresh flowers. On the skin, dry: Ah so my dear, there IS a rose in this. I have not ever been one to be able to wear roses, but this is not like those perfumes. I have this visual of ladies crushing the rose petals on their skin and cheeks, for a bit of color and a smell for those allowed close enough. Not too strong at all. This would be a beautiful floral scent if you have to label it as such, just Beautiful. Kinda mature. But not matronly. I like it.

Here goes, I had such high hopes for this one me. In bottle: Total Vicks vaporub, but the BBW version, less medicinal, more herbal On the skin, wet: That spicy scent of Dr. Pepper? Seriously. Still very herbal. On the skin, dry: wet forest floor. After you have a handful of Mother Earth and you have crunched up the pine needles and flora laying about, this is what your hand would smell like. Lightens up after drying though. To the swap pile.

in the bottle: heavy, heady, spicy. like Opium, the perfume on the skin, wet: so very spicy, I can't shake that Opium smell. on the skin, dry: I wonder if my friend will like this? final thoughts? swapped out for something else.
-
I will start to review in a format: in the bottle: chocolate, smooth, not as heavy as Bliss. on the skin, wet: Floral waves. I smell a rose and lotus, that very velvety floral scent, some chocolate still, ever so lightly on the skin, dry: honey, floral notes mixed with a rich honey and herb. final thoughts: Oh, this is really nice. I wore it to work, and after frequent handwashing...it was still on eight hours later, much lighter, but there. This will be a big bottle. ADDED Nov. 12: I have been wearing this all day, and reapplied when I got home. In the bottle, a light, smooth cocoa. Then this floral comes into play as it drys. I am reminded of a baby. Sweet, soft and sorta smelling like its Mama after it is held in her arms for a bit. I like this.

AshtonRose and I are going to use some of them in solid perfume bases. They are made from oils and waxes, that will be carriers to the BPAL oil. Others will be used directly on the skin. From a link here, we purchased the base base from Bramble Berry

This is such a grown up scent. Not too floral, not too herbally, not very citrus, but a very nice blend. Grown up without being old. ? Blended to perfection. I think of this as that one bottle of wine that you KNOW people will like, so you can always bring it to dinner....this is that...only perfume! Your sister, Mom or daughter's teacher would like this one. I do. I had to give it a few months to fully appreciate the perfume. Chypre had knocked my socks off for a bit...but I am now welcoming scents again...as I wait for my two orders!
