spicy-sweet and soft hazy opium den, languid and sexy throbbing Indian music, a half-naked dancer in swirling fabric my head hurts as my body refuses to obey and sinks into soft pillows very heady... blame anything I do on the drugs in the air... Of course, what happens afterwards is something soft and slow and sensual, languid pleasures in the softness of the bed, unreal yet shimmering to the touch, no clumsiness here, only the mastery of the arts of passion an overindulgence in the power of lust

like cola or tea tree spicy, piney, a wild walk hiking in the woods atop a mountain, full of furry animals and pine mulch burning through the pines, softens after, smoky, misty, mysterious, lying in fur huddled with rabbits in a den

I am a Wolf or Lion sexy, Puckish, attractive not so much berry, spicy underneath. Heat, the spill of blood the taste of it in my mouth delicious as I bring my prey down heady, satisfying satiating my hunger but always I am ready to spring away, to hunt, to move, to defend my kill... easing off now, not so strong, the scent of meat on my breath delicious fading away to dreams of prey, almost the same as the first whiff, but without the strong desire to chase

sharp and sweet quickly melting away into a dry dusty moldering shroud mildew, mixed with the sweet decay of rotting flesh strangely not unpleasant just disquieting, and a little sad, as if I am the Poet, watching over the decaying body of my lost love. All that is left is the rose-sweetness of my memory

a steamy, jungle habitat at the zoo, full of exotic plants and monkeys. It's a clandestine kiss in the corner, pulled there by a lover while people pass by. It's the sudden loin-tingling heart flopping thrill of being checked out by a sexy guy. It's that feeling you have as a confused teenager, dying for awakening but not sure you're ready for it yet. It's going too far in the backseat, swept away by the heat of the moment, summer nights and asphalt, and his sticky cologne sweat on your skin.

sweet, with a hint of malice He intends harm, but can be seduced by innocence... feral tempered by softness a beauty you could give yourself to without hesitation... Eat me, darling!

Civet, hot and dry like the baking fur of a desert cat in its den, dessicated scats lying around, very animal this smell is, lion cage in summer, aggressive, but it's too hot to do anything about it.

The absolute darkest scents? dark, ghostly, haunting, scary,

I agree that Black Annis is very evil. I scared myself, wearing it. I didn't want to embody that spirit. Glasya, the Princess of Hell is my all-time favorite scent. I don't know if she's evil or not, but she's hot and fiery and sensual and commanding. And she makes me feel strong. -
Looking for the scent of a cave...

To me, Black Annis had a fearful cave-scent. You might want to check it out. -
BPAL for Working Around or With Animals?

Whenever I wear perfume with civet (Glasya is one of my favorites), the cats won't stop trying to lick my wrists! -
OOOhhhh! They're quite lovely! thanks so much for the link!

Okay, does anyone have Steamworks bottles to show off? I'm dying to see them!

Yep, this smells like sweaty witches, just after they've done some energy raising. When I opened the bottle, I smelled the strong scent of forest with a hint of incense wafting my way. There was a slight sourness, which made me just a little nervous. What are the witches doing? Then put some on my skin. Now the forest was all around me, and I was dancing with the witches. Sweat glistened on my skin as the rising smoke made me heady with the incense and magic. This scent had terrific staying power, lasting all day and even through the garden. The sweat component is exactly like sweat - slightly sour but sexy at the same time. It makes me think of an attractive dancer with skin musk. Trouble with Hexennacht is that it smells EXACTLY like sweaty witches - a scent I can create whenever I do my own dancing with my own witchy crew on full moon nights. It's not something I want to wear, although I think it would be a lovely ambiance scent. Hexennacht is very potent, and for those who wonder what it smells like to dance naked in the forest with burning incense, this is spot on.

Me - Piney, but mixed with lemon Faerygirl - Very strong and earthy, yet still that lemony freshness
-
This one was a definite scent memory. I couldn't place it at first. Cookies? Amaretto? No, wait...King of Hearts smells EXACTLY like the almond cookies in a Chinese restaurant!
-
Faerygirl and I both agree - Dian's Bud smells just like the hairdresser's shampoo. Clean, green, and wet. While pleasant, neither of us wants to wear it as a perfume.
-
I found Scarecrow scary, and intimidating. It smelled oily at first, like an oil slick on asphalt. As it faded, I caught a whiff of black licorice, but there were still oily undertones. Faerygirl says "It's like something that smells good in the trash can but you can't figure out what it is. Then it's like Chinese soup. Then it's nice at the end like spice."

This scent is sheer draconic pleasure.

Faerygirl says, "Flowery, leather? beautiful". I got a strong hit of gardenia. I found the scent ok, but boring - it's just not my type.

I"m looking for a scent like a ripe cornfield.
JennyGardener replied to PrairieSunrise's topic in Recommendations
I know the exact smell you mean. I live in corn country and worked in cornfields through my adolescence. I'm not sure why you want to smell like that.... I haven't found a scent yet that reminds me of Cornfield essence. Scarecrow had an oily or fuel like note in it, so if you get that one it might remind you of cornfield with tractor. Haven't tried the Masque, though. -
Ah, Delphi! The priestess sits surrounded by roses and beeswax candles. The rose in Delphi (surprisingly) stays true on me, and never turns to soap. That alone makes it wonderful. But then add in the pleasant lightness of beeswax, the scent of honeybees, and you couldn't have a more uplifting blend. It's very sacred, but also deeply joyful. I, too, will wear Delphi in a ritual sense. It's too holy for just every day.

Ivanushka is a very soft scent straight out of the bottle. When I first applied it to my skin, there was a vinegarish whiff. That might correspond with some people's perception of pickles. I compare it to the strong chemicals one might use to process skins into leather or furs. Next, there is a powerful scent of soft buttery leather (the really high-quality stuff) or expensive furs. As the drying progresses, I catch hints of pine, hints of dry leaves, and hints of snow. The next wave reminds me of coming in out of the snow. Snow is falling off and melting on the floor. Wafting from the room is a sharpness that reminds me of crushed flowers -violet? iris? Then there's just softness. Innocence. Children sleeping peacefully in flannel. So beautiful and sweet. After a while, the musk grows up a bit into a woman's scent. She's retained her childlike sweetness of heart, though. She's become a princess. Like Baba Yaga, this scent tells a wonderful tale. I'd describe the overal sensation as snow and light musk. Unfortunately that snowy hint must be what makes me headachey. Alas! I was so sure I'd love this one that I bought two bottles. Now I have to swap it for something else.

This scent smelled a little too foody for me when I sniffed it in the bottle, but I tried it anyway. I'm so glad I did! The dancing snake is sweet, indeed, but not overpoweringly. I think the violet must be what tempers the vanilla. In this blend, vanilla is warm and light on me. I do like it, which surprises me! Now, on Faerygirl, Le Serpent Qui Danse smells like a cough drop. Too sweet. Isn't body chemistry funny sometimes!

All Night Long definitely works. It's tingly cinnamon goodness. Now, I did get the slight irritation where I applied it, but it wasn't bad enough to make me want to wash it off. The biggest thing I noticed was the exciting way my body heat warmed up the scent until the entire bedroom smelt of cinnamon. After that, I wasn't noticing smells so much... All I can really say about this potion is that the sheets were too tangled to recognize and I had to wash them right away.

The patchouli amps way up in this one and it makes the vetivert snarl with it. So it's too mean for me to wear. It's just too angry. Also, it made me sneeze and the tiny patch of skin where I tried it got a burny feeling! I don't think Bloodlust likes me. Which is very sad, because that cinnamon-dragon's blood sweet spiciness is lovely.
