This is more of a griotte scent on me. While I wouldn't describe it as a carbonated scent, the griotte has this airy quality to it. I can't decide if it's more champagne/bubbly like or almost like a bath bomb. I wonder if the white musk is resonsible for that, as I cannot pick it out on its own. I can just pick out the lime, but overall it adds a more fruity, slightly citrus edge to the griotte. Overall the scent reminds me of either a fruit cocktail soda, that's lost most of its carbonation, or a fruit cocktail bath bomb.

As has already been stated, watermelon hard candy. As it wears on me, I start to get more of the sugar cane, not just the general sweetness the scent starts with. And the scent moves a little bit towards watermelon juice with a lot of sugar. But overall, I would describe this as a watermelon jolly rancher scent.

A fresh apple scent that's on the floral and greenery side. The golden apple is the strongest on me, and I would describe it as golden, as opposed to a green or red apple. The pear plays a supporting role, adding to the freshness of the apple. The muguet, cherry blossoms, and white musk blend together to make more of a pale floral musk on me. And I don't get grass at all, rather more of a fresh, dewy greenery note to the scent. Overall, I get a picture of picking an apple straight from the tree and taking a bite, with well watered, flowering trees in the background.

Definitely a strawberry scent on me. Outside of strawberry, the only other note I can pick out at all is the yuzu. The citrus does pull the scent more towards being a fruity, fresh scent, as opposed to more berry side of strawberry. I was hoping for much more of a citrus scent, so I'm disappointed.

The Lab's red musk note comes out the most on me in this scent. The rest of the notes combine together to form a spicy, slightly sweet, slightly floral scent that's hard to pin down to any of its components. A warm and spicy take on a red musk scent.

Mostly a sandalwood and frankincense duo on me. I smell the roses in the bottle, but on me they stick to the far background. I was really hoping for another red rose hit, so this is disappointing on me.

A warm coconut scent. There is a noticeable sweetness to the coconut, but I'd describe it as being earthy and having a brown oud note to it, before I would point out the sweetness. I can't pick out the vetiver on its own, it's very much playing support in this scent, making the coconut earthy and warm. Overall, I'm reminded of the coconut scent of a lotion (not sunscreen) lingering after application, noticeably warmed by the wearer. A toasty and simple scent.

Much more of a vanilla and cacao scent on me. I don't get pistachio at all, instead a note that reminds me somewhat of cherry and mint. Definitely a foodie scent, though more pure vanilla bean and cacao than baked goods or another dessert. And it has this bright, fruity core I can't put my finger on. I'm pretty disappointed, I was hoping this would be another pistachio hit for me.

Soil, rocks, and a little bit of radish. Definitely a dirt scent. Here, it reminds me more of freshly turned top soil. I don't get crystals so much as rocks, and it smells particularly sharp, but also has a dusty quality it, like some of the rocks have been ground down. And lastly, I do get a little bit of very root-y radish. Overall, a dirt scent with a bunch of pointy rocks.

Fruity scent with a little vanilla. Definitely more of a fig scent than a pear, but I still get the pear. I don't get chocolate, but I do smell the vanilla, which gets stronger as the scent wears on. Ends up being a vanilla-y fig scent on me, with a bit of pear. Fruity and ever so slightly foodie.

As one can imagine, definitely a nut smell. I mostly get chestnuts and maybe acorns. It's a mix of a woodsy nut and a sweet spice nut. If I focus, I can find the hazelnut and the brown sugar in the background, but I don't get the honey or the cardamom. Overall, this reminds me more of roasted nut, with a little bit of sweetness.

Mossy eucalyptus. I can't pick out any individual notes besides the moss and eucalyptus. I suspect the sandalwood and white musk are working in the background to smooth out the sharpness of the eucalyptus. The combo of moss and eucalyptus is green, fresh, and slightly medicinal. Overall, a softer, greener eucalyptus scent.

I get the birch and moss notes the most. As the scent wears on, the amber softens those notes into more of a tree musk. Ends up being a softer scent on me. While I'm sure that's also due to the orris root and sandalwood, I can't pick them out individually. Overall, more of a soft forest musk scent.

Cheesecake and very spicy hot chocolate. The champurrado ends up being noticeably stronger than the cheesecake on me, though the cheesecake is never lost. And I end up getting more spices than chocolate. I agree with the reviewer above, that there was a cola element to the scent. As the scent wore on, the spices ended up being pretty earthy on me, starting to take the scent away from the foodie nature of the scent.

A pretty perfect mix of all three on me. I get that more substantive sweetness of the honeycomb. The lemon is fresh, reminding me of a fresh cut lemon slice for tea. And the sugar is almost abrasive, I think between the lemon and the juxtaposition of the honeycomb. The sugar note here reminds me more of a coarse, less refined sugar. Overall, what it says on the tin, I imagine all the fixings of serving tea, without brewing the actual tea. Very pleased with this one, as a lemon lover.

Pine Needles, Frankincense, and Beeswax Absolute
samanare replied to Silvertree's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
This ends up being a sweet frankincense scent on me. The pine starts off strong, and somewhat quickly fades into the background. It's still there, but it's more like essence of pine. The frankincense becomes more noticeable as the pine dies down. It's sweetened by the beeswax. A pleasant, sweet airy scent, but not something I imagine I'll really reach for. Wish it was more of a pine scent.- 5 replies

Unfortunately, this is very soapy on me. But a lot of aquatic rose scents are. As mentioned by others, mostly a sea salt and rose duo. I would describe this as an aquatic scent before a rose one.

Mostly lavender and amber on me. I think the pine and the ambergris are there, but I can't smell them individually, they just add to the plant and wet smell of the lavender. This reminded me of Schonperchten, unfortunately I like Schonperchten noticeably better. I just wish the other notes, besides the lavender and amber, played a bigger part in this scent. It's on the simpler side imo, pleasant, but nothing to write home about.

Lavender and orris root, with pale florals in the background. The orris root just surpasses the lavender in being the strongest note. The lavender is right behind and is more of a 'wet' lavender, on the slightly medicinal side, not so much a floral note, especially in comparison to the light, white musk floral note that serves as the scent's background. As the scent wears, the lavender fades a bit, mixing more with the other florals. Overall, an orris root and lavender duo, surrounded by the light musk of pale blossoms.
-
As described, champagne and absinthe. On me, absinthe is the main note. Champagne is definitely there, but is more serving a supporting role, lifting up the already almost citrusy smell of the absinthe. Sugary, light, and bubbly absinthe, is how I would describe this scent.
-
Strawberry rhubarb scones, with a little bit of sweet spice. The rhubarb is strongest on me and it's very sweet and jammy. The strawberry is noticeable, but is more playing support to the rhubarb. I don't get the tea. I do get the ginger, saffron, and cinnamon, though they blend together on me to make this spicy baked goods note that is the background. Overall, a very sweet, jammy rhubarb scone scent, with strawberry and spicy sweets in the background.
-
Amber encasing warm spices. I get saffron and tonka the most, with amber noticeably there, rounding things out. I don't get hazelnut and I only smelled the mandarin at the very beginning, while it was drying on me. Overall it's a warm scent. I get the imagery of 'brown,' almost in a suede way. The amber brings out the the earthiness of the spices, so this is definitely not a foody scent.

Inebriated Birbs Guzzling Punch While a Scandalized Cat Looks On
samanare replied to Silvertree's topic in Limited Editions
A sweet booze scent on me. I'm getting the brandy mostly. The sugar and rum are there, contributing to the sweetness and the boozy nature of the scent. But I don't get any lemon. I would describe this as an approachable booze scent. It's pleasant with all the sweetness, just not the most interesting scent. -
Bright, sugary citrus. I mostly get mandarin. The lime and plum might be in the background supporting somewhere, but I don't get the black tea or white musk. After a while this does shift on my to a plum scent, with what I swear is a little bit of autumn spice. While I did enjoy it, as I love citrus, I was hoping for some of the other notes to play a more important role in the scent.

Definitely the Lab's ice note, cold, sharp, and atmospheric. I don't get amber so much as cottony linen on me. I would describe this as an icy laundry scent. Pleasant, just not to my personal tastes.
