I do smell the neroli quite a bit for the first hour or so, but after that I agree that it's mostly honey...for a while anyway. Because okay, hear me out, about 3 hours in this smells really tropical on my hair?? It reminds me a lot of the Coconut, Vanilla Bean and Tiare HG, but without the suntan lotion/beach oil quality. It's quite lovely actually! If I stick my braid inside my nostrils and huff, I can smell the honey AND the neroli, but for some reason the overall effect is just... tropical. I'm engulfed in a cloud of 'sitting on the beach watching the sunset with a coconut cocktail in hand and there are tropical flowers nearby'. I'm not mad about it. It doesn't actually smell like coconut but it's a vibe, okay? I don't know how else to explain it. I don't smell any peach or apricot, but I think we've established in this review I might not be the most reliable reviewer. I'm the beach vibes lady. I was also hoping for more neroli, which is one of my favorite notes, but I really love this. I have a large sample size of this one so I don't think I'll need to upgrade to a bottle, but I'm glad I have a good amount of it!

@VetchVesperI haven't tried Houses at the Back - Frost Morning, but I definitely had my eye on it when it came out! I made an order yesterday and allowed myself one Luper, and Wisteria Blossoms turned out to be the winner, so I hope I love it as much as you do, I'm on a mission to try out some florals (to think I started my perfume journey firmly believing I'd never enjoy florals! π ). Although, I had to destash Winter Night, Figure on a Bridge a while back (it was overall a little too sharp for me), so hopefully Wisteria Blossoms isn't too similar! It's also traveling with a bottle of Vigil for the Harvest Suitors, so I should be set with lilac scents for a while haha. @Rayleigh I actually completely forgot The last Unicorn has lilac in it! I really love this one, but it's also not a lilac-centric scent for me. I can't smell it very much in Lady Amalthea either, actually. I think for both these scents I can feel its presence more than anything else, like it helps the scent feel well-rounded, if that makes sense? In any case, both are gorgeous, well-blended fragrances. π (Btw, Lady Amalthea is currently available on the lab's etsy, in case anyone is interested! It really is beautiful, and it's a good scent for hot weather, it has a refreshing quality to it, probably from the mint! I wore it a lot last summer). @hhelix Silenti was not on my radar at all and now I'm super curious! It sounds really lovely, I tend to really enjoy myrrh scents.
-
@Lucchesa I'm always on the lookout for a good lilac scent! Lilac always reminds me of being home in France in the summer. π I've been eyeing Vigil for the Harvest Suitors, as well as the new Vase de Lilas Γ la FenΓͺtre. I think I am leaning towards the former, and I'm generally curious to see how the lab would do a sweeter lilac fragrance. I have The Lilac Wood and love it, but I have other lilac scents from other houses that are a little less green and a little sweeter, and I do tend to favor these ones (as day scents, anyway, I love to wear The Lilac Wood to Bed!).

I've been LOVING The Bear Prince as a sleep scent lately! π»πΉ The Lilac Wood and The Last Unicorn are also lovely for night time.

Hi witches! Sorry I've been so scarce!.I had the meltdown to end all meltdowns this Saturday (so much so that I spent Sunday with a raging headache) and being online so much is just not helping. I'm okay now, I thinking I needed to let go of 10 months worth of frustration of living through these strange and challenging times. But I've been keeping up with the yoga, with only a couple of days where I've had to do two sessions to get caught up. I actually just finished 2 sessions and I'm now up to date with Adriene's challenge. I kind of just spritzed myself with the Vengeance Eternal HG which I just received this Saturday, and I really love it! I've also been falling in love with Personent Hodie and Tombeur, which came in that same order. Belly dancing did not quite work out for me, but, I will look out for Sadie! I ended up doing some really intense 15 minutes dance workout after belly dancing was a bust that day and half of the effort was me dying laughing at how badly coordinated I am. π So, a fun time overall, and definitely good cardio! Sending love to all of you!

Hi witchy friends! I haven't checked in in a bit but I have kept up with Adriene's challenge every day. Will do Day 11 later today, and I'm thinking of trying some belly dancing as well haha, I'll report back! I found a couple of videos on Youtube, we'll see. I was away from home so I haven't worn any particularly exciting smells, just brought a couple of faves with me (Druid and A Night in the French Quarter). I hope you are all doing well! π

@Lucchesa I'm so sorry to hear about your shoulder! I hope it gets better soon. @VetchVesper the new challenge is fun! I did the first couple of days and really enjoyed them, will do Day 3 in an hour or two. I wore Druid yesterday (I wanted to feel comfy and Druid is one of my most loved scents, maybe even the very best one π). The day before... I'm pretty sure I wore Diana? In any case, I retested it recently and it's really lovely. It reminds me quite a bit of Auriga, which I love but is LE, so it's nice to know there's something in the catalogue that could be a good replacement if I ever need one. @Amazonia, I'll reiterate what I've already said and what others have said, your granddaughter is so very lucky to have you! π Also mad props for keeping up with your workouts despite this stressful situation.

Hiya my dearest witches! I've also been scarce around here, it's been a weird week for exercise, I was all in a funk but I feel good today and I think I can get back on that horse. I'm gonna give myself a few more days and then follow along with Adriene's new challenge in the new year (usually starts on January 2nd if anyone's interested!). I did go on a nice evening walk for about an hour last night though (wanted to look at that lovely full moon) which was really nice. I didn't wear anything special because it was a spur of the moment thing and I kinda forgot about perfume! I know, the horror! How could one forget about perfume?! I'm excited to hear you love Endless Corridors @Lucchesa! I decided to part with V'al HaNissim after all (it's gorgeous but too rich for me) and I think Endless Corridors might be a beeswax I enjoy more. I'll report back when my decant gets to me! @Amazonia I love the idea of you and Neko dancing together! I have dance parties with myself almost every day (seriously, it's so good for mental health! so much fun and gets you out of your head and inside the body, if that makes sense) which... I guess counts as exercise? π I'm dying. ππ I also can't wait to get my Pumpkin Doob decant!!

@Lucchesa it was a perfect fit! And Anne Bonny worked pretty well too, as I found out yesterday. I think today might be a no exercise day, some emotional stuff going on and I just want to snuggle up and watch a comforting movie. I'm okay, just need a rest and some processing time. I hope everyone is doing well! π

Y'all are amazing, thank you for the love. ππ I did a 40-minute yoga session on Monday, picked one that sounded a bit more challenging so I'm quite pleased with that! I think I'm gonna carry on with this trend, and pulled up Adriene's Yoga for Weight Loss playlist to explore. I wore Life the Sculptor, Moulds Unceasingly, and it was a great match for yoga. I'd say mainly because of the sandalwood, soI think I'm gonna try a different sandalwood scent today, maybe Anne Bonny? I'll report back! Yesterday, I accidentally skipped because I spent way too long on the phone with a friend and the day had gotten away from me by the time I hung up, oops. But today I yoga for sure! @Madame Mew haha fomo is such a problem with BPAL!! I hope you enjoy V'al HaNissim, should be a no brainer if you like beeswax. π @VetchVesper props on the two hours of raking, wow! Sending you strength for the rest of it. Good ol' raking sounds good to me, I have neighbors that are obsessed with leaf blowers and...why?? No offense if any of you use one, it's just. I don't understand. It's one of those weird American things to me. π And props to everyone else still going strong!! π

Oh my gods Vetch you are too sweet for checking in on me, and meanwhile I just entirely dropped off the face of the earth!! I've been doing good just very, very busy, and needed some time away from screens in my down time. πI've been getting back into yoga last week, yay me! Although today was a gross rainy Sunday kinda day haha. Hoping to start strong again tomorrow though! I'll keep y'all in mind to motivate myself. It finally got cold enough here to break out some cozy scents and/or some sweet favorites that I don't really like wearing in warmer weather, so I wore V'al HaNissim out on a walk the other day and it was perfect! Glad to be back, hugs all around

Hello my witchy lovelies! I fell off the wagon hard this week, it was a pretty bad mental health week, and I pretty much retreated into myself and did absolutely nothing productive and fell behind on my work. To be honest I don't know if I can get a good exercise routine going while the semester is in full swing, with the end fast approaching. We started much earlier this year because of covid, so I have a shit-ton of stuff due by mid-November, plus I'm helping organizing a fairly large conference (which has been turned into a virtual event) and I'm just very overwhelmed. The cabin fever is also getting to me and I'm just grumpy and sad and annoyed (the Sagittarius rising in me is having a giant whiny baby moment because I haven't gone on a fun adventure in way too long). Blergh. The thing is, I know yoga would help with all of that, but I can't find the energy. Anyway, I think I will not pressure myself into doing anything that does not absolutely need to be done until winter break and prioritize all the things that come along with scary looming deadlines. Break will be very long this year (again, because we started so early), and I'm obviously not going anywhere. I'll have to do some work then too, but it's a very different pressure, so I can take the time to reimplement good habits then. I hope y'all are doing okay, and that your respective family issues have gotten resolved, or that the very least that things are going as smoothly as they can. π

Sorry for the double post, but quick daily update: did a 40 minute yoga session with Adriene today! Did not wear any scent, patchouli or otherwise, because I have been trying so many things lately that my skin has been a little upset with me. Didn't really get a reaction, but I feel like I'm about to, so I let my skin rest for the day (it's happened before so I know the signs now!). Will cautiously apply a couple of my Liliths after I shower, because I want to continue getting acquainted with these lovely scents. Hope you are all doing well! π

Okay okay I give, I'll try a patchouli blend for yoga today! π I'm really sorry to hear about all of this @VetchVesper, sending you and yours all the love and all the good vibes, I'll keep you in my thoughts, and take good care of yourself. π

Ahoy witches! We're all doing so well! Go us. Did a 30-minute session with Adriene today. I wore Berzerker because I am obsessed with it and have hardly worn anything else since I got my imp on Monday. I sense a bottle in my future! It is a pretty strong scent, but I didn't mind it as a workout buddy, perhaps because it was fairly faded by the time I got to the mat. By the way, I love that so many of us are yoga-ing with Adriene! I just love her. I know this is way in advance, but if anyone is down to do the new 30-day challenge in January, it could be fun to do it together. That sounds delightful, and I wish I could access natural spaces more easily! I don't drive so it makes it harder. I moved to the US last year and I discovered very early on that you're pretty much fucked without a car haha. I have since made lovely friends with cars but, sometimes you just gotta go and sit in the woods by yourself you know? But I hope you get to do all those things and that you're feeling better!

Thanks @Madame Mew π And huzzah for the shipping notification! And, similarly, don't beat yourself up about today. It's just a hard year! My friends and I were discussing how we dress in this pandemic the other day, and they were basically like, oh yeah sweatpants all the way (we are all grad students so we work from home). And I was like, well, I personally like to get dressed so I can feel like a human doing a job and not a panicky potato. Long story short, we've christened this year the year of the panicky potato. π Also this is not a judgement on the sweatpants-wearing folk by the way, whatever makes you happy, you know? And to be fair, I'm a flowy clothes kinda person, so I'm always comfy regardless haha. Also, I failed to notice this earlier but yes, I can confirm that Death Adder makes people react some kinda way!! I loved the scent very much but my skin did not. Thankfully my little snek has found a new loving home with @Amazonia!! ETA: I am 100% on board with being y'all's witchy friend π

Ooh I love that, thank you for tracking down the post! π Hahaha @Amazonia you are welcome to stop by our shrine any time!! ππ Taika and Jeff are the best, and especially when they're together. I don't know if any of you have ever seen joint interviews with the both of them, but it makes me cry-laugh every time and I mean, who doesn't love a good laugh? Monday through Wednesday is a reeaaal busy time for me, with Tuesday and Wednesday being the worst, but I have been keeping up, albeit not perfectly. On Monday, I did a 20 minute yoga session with Adriene, during which I was wearing four different Lilith scents because my order had come in earlier that day haha. I sadly missed Tuesday because I was overwhelmed, but Wednesday had one of my classes unexpectedly cancelled, so snuck in a 40 minute yoga sesh! I wore The Bear Prince, which always gives me a 'fresh' feeling, and also is one of my favorites, so overall a solid choice. π Haven't done yoga yet today, as I was out and about for most of the day, and I don't know if I have it in me to do it tonight. I did do quite a bit of walking, so it hasn't been an entirely potato-like day. We shall see if the energy comes to me, but it's already 7pm and I just wanna wind down and chill for the rest of the night. Today was my day off and tomorrow is back to work until next Thursday, so I just think I'll cut myself some slack and take the night off too. I think I'm gonna have to make peace with the fact that I might not be able to work out on Tuesday or Wednesday (for the next few weeks anyway, my schedule will likely be different next semester), or both, and not beat myself up about it. It's really a time management/procrastination problem more than anything else, but scheduling time for exercise always feels very overwhelming on those days. I've been thinking about trying to do it first thing in the morning, but I find that pretty difficult. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I find it hard to focus on anything for longer than 15 minutes before I've had some food! One of my professors suggested I just have a spoon of almond butter first thing for a little energy and to trick my brain into thinking it's had some food already haha, so maybe I'll give that a go. Apparently that's what she does before yoga and it works great for her!

@a_bear, Taika is my perennial unproblematic fave! His instagram is a delightful blend of his eccentric humor, urging people to vote, and various good causes he's involved with. Bless his little weirdo heart. And Jeff Goldblum needs no explanation, clearly. One of my friends and I will be roommates next year and I've been joking that we should have a Jeff Goldblum shrine by our front door. I mean, it's a good conversation starter, we might just do it. π Wishing you good luck with your yoga endeavors today, you can do it!! And if you can't, well, that's okay, and be sure to be kind to yourself anyway. We all have days when everything feels hard. π @Madame Mew thank you for sharing! And sorry for the kind of obvious question, I thought it might a whole thing where people came up with correspondences between tarot cards and scents haha! But relying on my own intuition works too, maybe I'll give that a go later today. Good luck today everyone!

Wow @Madame Mew, you're a proper fitness expert! Also I'd love to know more about using tarot to determine your scent of the day, that sounds really fun! Yay for the husband going back to the office tomorrow @Amazonia! Also I had to google bowflex, I definitely thought it was some kind of archery schtick (which, I don't know how one would do that indoors?? π). I'm not super well-versed in the DC and Marvel universes, but I love Thor Ragnarok, primarily because Taika Waititi is one of my favorite people on this planet and I will watch pretty much anything he's involved with. (Also. Jeff Goldblum.) And yes, Gal Gadot is absolutely one of the most absurdly beautiful humans I have ever seen, holy goddess!! I got a lot of walking done yesterday, even more so than predicted, and ended up doing over 10k steps, yay! Didn't do any Yoga because I felt blergh from the flu shot and like someone had punched me in the shoulder repeatedly. I know, I sound like a complete drama queen, but I don't like getting vaccines done (please don't read this the wrong way I am most definitely PRO vaccines lol). On my walk, I wore Druid and Elf HG, which is always a great combo, and a favorite for a slightly chilly walk. Today, I did a 45 minute session with Adriene, and forgot to wear a scent, oops! I think I'm gonna challenge myself to wear scents I tend to wear less, it should be a fun experiment. As long as I remember to do it! Those long yoga sessions are always a very interesting mind exercise because they reeaally try my patience, I'm not so good with focusing on one thing for such a long period of time (unless it's a really good novel), so it's also been really good in that sense.

Day 2 of yoga in the books! I had a case of "it's Friday and I'm lazy" and almost didn't do it, but found strength in thinking of all you! And I was thinking, well damn, if @Lucchesa can find the willpower to take a walk while dragging her luggage around, I have no excuse for not doing yoga in the comfort of my own home. π I did a 40 minute session with Adriene, and also walked for maybe 40-50 minutes? Mostly because I went to see some friends and then back home. I still had on remnants of Siren Song Elixirs' Yennefer (Bold) when I got to exercising, so I picked something that wouldn't clash with it to reapply. This turned out to be The Lilac Wood, which is a scent I love but usually tend to wear as an evening and/or sleep scent. It worked really well for yoga though, especially in the more meditative poses where I felt like I was just in my own private magical forest. Tomorrow I have a flu shot scheduled in the morning so I'm not sure I'll be able to do yoga, these things usually kind of knock me out for a day and make whichever arm receives the shot pretty much unusable (so no plank poses for me haha), but I think I'll walk there and back. The place I'm getting it done is about a half hour away from where I live, and it's a really nice walk so that should be good! Weather's supposed to be lovely, too. Might do some light bedtime yoga in the evening, just to keep that habit of doing it every day, but I'll see how I feel! I love reading all of your exercise and scent adventures, and I'm definitely super curious about Destroying Angel! Adding it to my to-try list.

Thanks guys! I wasn't trying to brag, I'm just legitimately floored that I lasted this long. @a_bear, so I never went for much longer than 30 days before (maybe 45 was my 'record'?), but I found that what helped me this time was to think of it as an act of self-love rather than simply exercise, if that makes sense? I know this sounds a little sappy, but changing my relationship to it and thinking about it as time for myself, to take care of myself, really helped! I also let go of the expectations and just did the thing. I'm really not flexible at all, and I would get pretty frustrated with that before, now I'm mostly like... "Well, I'm just doing my best, no big deal if it doesn't look perfect!". So I don't know, maybe that could help you too? π I looked at my little exercise journal (makes it sound fancier than it is, I was just keeping track day by day in a notebook) and it had actually been 2 weeks since I fell off the yoga wagon! But I'm so excited because today I did it, and I mostly credit y'all for that, so thank you. π I had been wearing Morocco HG + perfume oil so I just left that on, and it was a good companion for exercise. It makes its presence known but it's not cloying or overpowering, and I just really love Morocco, it feels like a happy scent to me! ETA: just realized that you guys were talking about Yoga with Adriene previously! I really love Adriene, and she's really helped me change my outlook on exercise, as described above. I feel you could find videos for all levels on her channel, but it's true that most are beginner to intermediate, which tbh works really well for me haha.

Y'all are so inspiring!! I had been doing Yoga every single day for 118 days until last week. Yes, you read that right, ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN DAYS. I had never stuck with the practice so long before! I was so proud of myself and then I fell off the wagon because life got overwhelming, and I'm smack-dab in the middle of the academic semester and OH GODS that time is always scary as hell and makes me feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. Mostly it makes me feel like I have no time to do anything, and it's hard to prioritize things like exercise, even though it should be a priority. But anyway!! I will do my very best to resume my good habits tomorrow and join you in this challenge! I usually do one Yoga with Adriene video on Youtube per day, two if I'm feeling energetic and have the time. I'll shoot for one for now, as I get back in the saddle. It really was doing wonders for my mental health so I really should get back to it. And now that the weather has cooled down considerably it's really lovely out and I may try to incorporate some walks as well, because being outside is also fantastic for mental health reasons. I'm hoping to sort of coax my ego into keeping me accountable and make me do the thing by posting here (look, I don't usually listen to my ego because frankly he's a little bit of an asshole, but he can be helpful sometimes!). And I do love the idea of picking a specific scent to work out with. Wish me luck!! π ETA: forgot to say, thanks @VetchVesper!! this is such a fantastic idea!

Bastet is so wonderful. In the imp, it smells.. not great to me, it's all screeching almond and bubblegummy lotus, so I didn't try it for a couple of weeks when I first received an imp of this. But boy, am I glad I did, and I now own a bottle of it. There is something about this scent that reminds me about my childhood, and I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but it makes me love it even more. Perhaps some dessert I used to eat as a child? But Bastet is not foodie, although she hovers on the very edge of that line, she doesn't cross it (which is a win in my book). On my skin, it smells exactly like it does in the imp, but thankfully only for the first five minutes! Then it transforms into this gorgeously sweet, creamy, and ever so slightly spicy scent (the cardamom note is soft, but it's here, and it's so lovely!) that is one of the most joyful and comforting scents I have ever smelled. It's like getting a hug from the goddess herself. π
-
I find that green or foresty scents make me feel happy, not necessarily soothed, although it is admittedly a thin line! Actually, now that I think about it, many scents I find soothing and/or joyful tend to overlap, it really depends on my mood that day. For comfort, I prefer wintery, evocative blends. Aside from Fulvous Snow, one of mine would be A Wild and Naughty Girl (although this one could easily veer into the 'sexy scents' category!), it just makes me feel like I'm in a cozy mountain cabin in the dead of winter, drinking bitter hot chocolate by the fire. π V'al Hannisim would also qualify I think, it's just very warm and rich.
