    Gingerbread Invisible Man

Wet, this smells just like ginger ale instead of champagne. I am not getting any of the other notes at all besides some of the sugar and candied ginger, this might as well be a ginger ale single note on my skin. But I'm not complaining, it's pretty good actually! A little disappointed about the lack of the gingerbread and other notes, but this is a fun scent. I've been wanting a ginger ale scent for a few months and this is the perfect one for me!

    Licorice Whip Atmosphere Spray

Mostly black licorice with a hint of leather. I think the licorice is a little plastic smelling, but it's not too bad. I'm picky with leather notes, so I like how the licorice is the strongest note.

    Party Tricks Hair Gloss

Probably not the best time to be reviewing a hair gloss since I cut most of my hair off, but I'll try to review this anyway. It's a sweet strawberry milk blend with some chypre and a powdery sugar. I couldn't pick out the amber or dried fruits. The strawberry is the strongest note along with the chypre. I really like it, this is going to be great during the summer. If you have Gen Z Feminist Cenobite, I'm sure this would pair nicely with that since they both have chypre. I wish I got some of the fried fruits or amber, but this is still fantastic as it is.

    Love Me

My imp must be really aged because I am not getting any of these notes everyone else is getting. It's a smoky, patchouli, and woodsy blend. There's a very faint floral note in the background that sweetens this blend up a little bit, but it's definitely mostly patch and wood. It's not the worst thing I've smelled, but I wanted more florals than I got. Will probably end up passing this along to someone else.

    Krampus

This review is for the 2007 version! Krampus was a bit disappointing to me. The only notes I'm getting are the dust and red musk, which isn't a bad scent but the throw and wear are extremely low. It's completely gone after an hour. It also went a little powdery and sweet on me, not sure what notes could have caused that. Not what I expected, maybe I'd have better luck with the newer releases. Don't think I'll hold onto this decant.

    Pumpkin Booze

Buttery pumpkin and pumpkin spice. The booze note was only strong when wet, it doesn't last very long on me. The pumpkin is pretty sweet, it seems more like a dessert scent than a boozy one to me. The orange isn't appearing on me and the cinnamon and pumpkin spice kind of makes this smell like potpourri. I wanted the booze to stay around longer, but I'm not mad at the scent it became. It's a really nice warm pumpkin scent and I think fans of BPAL's pumpkin note would not be disappointed with this.

    Metal Twins

This smells like vanilla custard or pudding to me instead of cake batter and flan! It's buttery and creamy, with a touch of sweetness. Throw is pretty good, which is a plus. There is a little bit of similarity to this and Aoede, Melete, Mneme so unless you really love that one and want a similar scent, you probably don't need both of these.

    Cherophobia

Ginger oranges and carnations. The honey note isn't really appearing on me. Without looking at the notes, I could have sworn there was peppermint or something similar during the wet stage. It's sweet with a hint of spice and a little bit of clean from the carnation note. It fades pretty fast within a few hours with a low throw. I like it, but not going to seek a bottle. I might have liked this more if the ginger note was a bit softer and let the orange come through more.

    Athens

Athens started off with super sweet honey and fruity wine. I can't pick out what florals are in here, but they are faint and not overpowering the wine. I want to say they are white florals. Three hours later, it has faded considerably and I'm left with a slightly wine but heavy honey scent on my skin. Really like this, but I wish the staying power was a bit stronger. Probably wont be seeking a bottle.

    Pumpkin Smut

Started out as a mostly pumpkin spice Smut blend, but as it dries the spice gets less strong and the pumpkin note amplifies. It's definitely one of the nicer Smut-o-Ween blends, the Smut keeps the pumpkin from being too spice heavy and too sweet. It's slightly boozy which I wasn't expecting, but I'm enjoying it. May grab a bottle, I didn't know how much I needed a smutty pumpkin blend until I tried this!

    Mari Lwyd

This review is for the 2020 Winter version. Sweet lavender honey cakes! I'm not getting much of an ale note, it resembles oatmeal or something to me. The cake note is stronger than the lavender, and this kind of goes a little waxy/plastic during drydown. I'm guess that could be some sort of frosting note, because I do smell a little bit of vanilla as well. I like it a lot, but I'm undecided yet if I'll bottle it. I was hoping for more of a booze note, but the oatmeal-ish scent I got instead is still pleasant.

    Bordello

Plum wine and currant. Very sweet and kind of clean too, I can totally see the shampoo resemblance. The wine note isn't super strong to me, it's mostly the fruit. It actually almost resembles grapes once it's dry, that might just be the wine note. The only flaw, and that could be due to my imp's age, is that it's completely gone in three hours. A shame this was discontinued, it's a pretty great scent! Will have to keep an eye out for a bottle.

    Cthulhu

I'm getting the soap that everyone else seems to be getting. So weird, this is definitely a morpher because it smelled nothing like this when I first put it on. It smelled like seaweed and some type of oil note to me. I enjoy clean scents, but that first stage is a little too weird for my tastes. Won't be upgrading, but glad I got to try it.

    Lavender and White Chocolate Madeleines

Lavender and slightly waxy white chocolate. When it dries down, it reminds me of Sugar Cookie. The chocolate note isn't very strong, I smell the madeleines and vanilla notes more. It smells really nice, I just wanted some more lavender and a stronger white chocolate note. I'm probably not going to upgrade this since I've got quite a few chocolate blends. Will definitely hold onto the decant!

    Cold Moon 2020

This does not smell like chocolate ice cream to me. It's like Tootsie Rolls? But for some reason there's a faint fruity scent too. Not getting any kind of snow note. Either I didn't let this decant rest long enough or my skin chemistry is weird. I wish it lasted longer, it faded a lot within 15 minutes and is almost completely gone about 2 hours later. Would not upgrade because it isn't what I expected and the wear time is very low. Which is a shame because the scent is actually nice when it lasts.

    The Black Tower

My imp is probably very old, but I am not getting a few of these notes. The red wine is not a hint on me, it's fairly strong! I'm also getting a bit of steel, leather, the burnt grasses and ivy, and the sandalwood. When I applied this without looking at the notes, I was almost positive there was a faint patchouli or spice note in this and I was shocked to find that there isn't one. Maybe it was the burnt grass note, that's the closest thing I can think of. No upgrade, I'm a bit undecided if I'm going to keep this or not. I'm so curious what a fresh imp of this would smell like, but I don't think I'd like it if the ozone and steel notes were very strong.

    Dee

Unsure of the age of my imp, but this is an incense and woodsy leather with a faint bit of parchment. I think this is the first blend I've tried with a bookish note, and I can see the appeal! The leather and patchouli notes mellow out over time and the parchment note come through more with the tonka. I'm not a big fan of super woodsy scents, but it works in this blend. I swear there might be a dust note in here as well, or that could just be the woods. A little bit different than what I usually wear, but I can see myself getting a bottle sometime. I don't think of John Dee when I wear this, I think of my friend who's nickname is Dee. Going to be gifting her an imp of this on her birthday 💜.

    Sugar Cookie

This review is for the 2020 Winter release! A sweet and crumbly stack of sugar cookies! There's a hint of vanilla and cinnamon sugar in here as well, it's simple and lovely. I think the cinnamon is a bit on the stronger side than most of the other notes on me, it resembles a faint Butter Rum Cookie to me. Definitely a little bit buttery and warm as well. While it's very sugary sweet, I don't think there's a frosting note in this. So if you want a cookie scent that sweet but not frosting sweet, this could be a good option. I don't think I'll be getting an upgrade since I'm a fan of other types of cookie notes, but this is really nice. I think this could work good with layering if you want to smell like cookies.

    Ghost Milk

Sweet marshmallows, honey, and milk. During the drydown, the white chocolate appears more. It's creamy and delicious. The milk note is pretty faint and one of the first notes to fade. The throw isn't as strong for my liking, it stays pretty close to the skin on me. I have to agree that this doesn't seem very gourmand, even though there's a lot of foodie notes in this. I think it's probably the cashmere note. I can't compare this to a Lace note since I've only tried one, but it is really lovely. I'm not layering it today, but I'm sure this would be wonderful with just about anything if you want to sweeten it up a bit. Will be getting a bottle!

    Aglaea

This is stunning! Sweet peach wine and amber. The peach was the strongest when wet, but the ambers eventually overtook that note. The wine note isn't super strong and as it fades, it does get powdery but still stays sweet. Might get a bottle in the future, but I think for now the two frimps I have should suffice.

    Death Cap

I've been frimped this multiple times and I was so sure I wouldn't like this due to me hating Bohun Upus, another Rappaccini's Garden scent. But this scent is so nice, I was shocked! While it's mostly dirt, it's softer than in other dirt blends I've tried. I think there's a grassy or herby note in here as well, but not as strong as the dirt. It's also got a touch of sweetness to it, maybe coconut or vanilla? The wear time is about 4 hours, a bit shorter than I'd prefer but definitely not one of the quickest oils to fade on me. This is definitely more wearable than some other dirt oils I've tried. I don't think I'll hunt for a bottle since I've got so many imps, but I'm really enjoying it.

    Marshmallow Snow

Sugary sweet vanilla marshmallows. I believe there is a subtle white floral note in the background, or maybe that's just part of the snow note like in Snow White. It's really gorgeous but not super foodie if that's a concern for you. I agree with zankoku_zen that this could almsot be a marshmallow single note. I like it, but I don't think I'll upgrade to a bottle. Would likely be good to layer with however, so I'll keep my decant.

An Open Grave Underneath the Heavy Leaves

Sweet hay and herbs, I couldn't really pick out the grass note in this but that's fine since I prefer hay anyway. I really enjoy this, I just wish the throw and wear wasn't so low, three hours after application and it's already gone :(. It's a beautiful sweet earthy scent, doesn't smell dirty at all to me. I might try and get a bottle just for the scent association I have with this. Reminds me of being on a hayride in late autumn as a kid on the family farm, very nostalgic.
  24. fairybites

    Viola

This is a very floral and powdery blend. I'm mostly getting the roses and lily from this with the wood notes in the background. There's definitely a touch of sweetness in the background too from the mandarin, I kind of wish it was stronger. Again, I'm unsure of my imp's age. Don't think I'll be looking for a bottle, but it's pretty!

    Smokestack

Smokestack started out like heavy incense and some woody notes? Not sure of the age of my imp, but that definitely doesn't match the scent's description. Also a burning note in the background and a touch of vinegar. After a few hours, it now smells like a smoky resin maple syrup? Interesting, but definitely not something I'd gravitate towards. Glad I got to try this weird scent, though!
