This was pretty disappointing. I got the wine and lemon notes when I first applied it, and within a couple of hours it's almost completely gone and has gone powdery on me. It was really nice while it lasted, but I wish it stayed around longer! Going to hold onto the decant for now to see if aging will improve things, but I'm not so sure.

Powdery, clean fresh floral! The snow note appears when it's drying, but the narcissus is a lot stronger. This almost reminds me of a fresh linen blend. It's nice, but I've got some similar scents so I'll just hold onto the decant.

It's aquatic with a touch of sea salt but the milk note makes it creamy and sweet. It does not smell soapy to me, but the milk does make it smell almost like a clean scent. On me, the sweetness is stronger than the watery notes. Interesting, but I don't see myself upgrading. It's almost unlike other scents in my collection because I don't have many milky or aquatic blends, so for that it's worth holding on to. This was a fresh imp directly from the Lab so I am curious how much this will change with age.

Not sure of my imp's age, but this is heavy on the rose. So heavy that it's a little hard to pick out the other notes, but a few that I can detect are the honey and sandalwood. I think the orange blossom faded with age or maybe the rose is just too strong that I can't smell it. It almost reminds of of Zombi but without the dirt note. It's pretty, but I don't think it's bottle worthy since I've got nicer rose scents.

Pumpkin and apple spice with sweet gingerbread and rosemary. The gingerbread note is heavy on the spice, but isn't as strong as it was in Gingerbread Mummy. Lemon was present when it was drying, but it faded pretty quickly. The mix of all these spices reminds me of potpourri. If you're not a fan of scents like that, this may not be the oil for you. Will be upgrading! I do wish the gingerbread note was stronger, but regardless I'm really enjoying it. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really curious how well this will layer with Ghost Milk!

I've never had fruitcake, so this doesn't really smell like it to me; it's more of a dark chocolate covered sugary fruit scent! The chocolate note is super strong when it's wet, but is softens a little bit for some spice and the fruits to come through. The throw is really good, too! Won't be upgrading because it's a little heavier on the chocolate note than I'd like. But it is delicious and I'm enjoying testing it out today.

I purchased the entire Gingerbread Monsters line, and this one just so happened to be the first one I am trying. I am definitely not familiar with the Lab's gingerbread note, so I can't compare this to any previous blends. But wow, this is a stunner! Heavily spiced gingerbread and marshmallows with a drizzle of vanilla. I'll be honest, I'm not really getting a "marshmallow butter" note from this, it just smells like regular old marshmallows to my nose. But this is delicious and has me craving some gingerbread. It is very strong, the gingerbread spices being the strongest note. My favorite of the oils I have tried today, simply delicious! Will have to find a partial bottle of this!

This is a chilly eucalyptus mint scent with a touch of booze that makes it resemble cologne. Throw is pretty good, way better than the other minty scent I wore today. I think the eucalyptus is the strongest note here, the peppermint fades on me within an hour. Won't upgrade, but will hold onto this decant if I ever need something clean, soft, and refreshing.

Oh wow, first review . Hope I can help out any people who are interested in trying this! This is the first Winter Duet I have tried. And while I've had oils with sandalwood, this is my first with lily of the valley. The sandalwood is present, but in the background. The lily of the valley is the star of this perfume, and it is a beautiful scent. It isn't cloying to me, it's soft and sweet. A little bit of a resemblance to baby powder, honestly. I really like clean, fresh linen scents so if you like those as well this could be a good fit for you. The throw is on the low side and so is the wear sadly. It was almost completely gone within 30 minutes. I think I'll be content with my decant and won't be searching for a bottle. Glad I got to try lily of the valley, and am eager to try more oils with that note in the future.

This smelled just like regular peppermint to me at first, I was wondering when the extra sweetness would come through. Once it dried down, the vanilla and sugar ended up softening it. Very sweet and lovely, don't think I need a bottle since I've got a good amount of minty oils I prefer to this. I would recommend trying this if you want a minty perfume but don't want that to be the main note, this reminds me of peppermint vanilla ice cream!

This review is for the 2020 Winter release. Starts of heavily rose with some snow. The fur note is here a little bit in the background, but on me it stays a snowy rose. I've heard that this year's Bear Prince is heavier on the rose note than previous releases, but I have not tried older versions to compare them. Just something to keep in mind if you are interested in this but don't want a super heavy rose scent, you may want to keep an eye out for previous years. I do like this, but it wasn't as heavy on the fur note as I would have liked. Maybe that'll change with age, so I'll keep the decant around. Of the three 2020 Winter releases I have tried today, this is my least favorite.

This review is for the 2020 Winter release. Buttery rum, creamy and spicy. The molasses comes through at the end. It loses a little bit of the rum note when it dries. A creamy spiced molasses buttery dream. It's really delicious and very very sweet. I have to agree that it reminds me of Butter Rum Cookie, but my 2009 bottle is heavier on the spices and has a bready note that Hot Buttered Rum lacks but makes up for with the cream note. I think if you have one, you probably won't need both. And if I didn't already have BRC as a bottle, I would have upgraded this. But I will keep this decant around to see if layering the two would be good and if so, I may just upgrade to a partial bottle. I'm not done testing my Winter decants, but this is one of my favorites so far! Update after testing the 2011 version: 2011 HBR is bubblegum? If you're trying to get this version, 2011 in my case was not similar at all. I can't speak for the 2014 version, but I feel that even that one would be a good substitute. Link to my 2011 review if you are curious about the differences.

I have only tried Vampire Lace, so I can't really do an accurate comparison of this to Antique Lace or other Laces. But this is really stunning and I can see why it's many people's favorite from the 2020 Weenies. It's a slightly boozy amber and smoked vanilla blend. Chamomile doesn't appear at all on me. During drydown, it stays smoky vanilla but loses a little bit of the alcohol note. It goes a tiny bit powdery, but I'm chalking that up to the vanilla or possibly whatever the lace note is. Not something I'd see myself wearing as often as foodies, but it is very pretty and I'm going to hold onto my decant.

This review is for the 2020 Winter release. Creamy rose and vanilla upon application. The vanilla fades as marshmallow and jasmine come through more. Amber doesn't appear until it's dry. Stays a creamy amber marshmallow with hints of jasmine. The rose didn't stay around very long, maybe 30 minutes before fading. I don't think this gets soapy at all, it reminds me of a softer vintage perfume. It's very sweet and pretty, floral and slightly foodie at the same time. Don't think I'll upgrade to a bottle since it's a bit more on the floral side than the gourmand, but I'll hold onto the decant to see if aging changes things.

I didn't get any booze, but the other notes are present. French fries was the first note to fade though, so it was mostly barbeque sauce and cedar. The barbeque is STRONG, almost overpowers the wood. I can't see myself using this unless I want to weird out my friends when I can safely see them again. However, I think this could work good in an IRL D&D setting if the DM has the party go to a bar or something.

Super smoky bacon and potatoes with grease. Mostly getting the smoke and bacon from this, the potato note didn't last that long on me. It is strong and smells like I've been grilling all day. While it is very weird, I wouldn't call this gross. If anything, it makes me hungry for breakfast food. Great throw though!
-
This is so much nicer than I expected. It started off heavily fruity but I couldn't really pick out any specific fruits. It dried down to a powdery, chalky candy scent like Smarties. I got absolutely no ketchup or other weird notes thank goodness. Throw isn't the best, but if your skin chemistry gives you the ketchup note that could be a good thing!
-
This is very gross, not going to lie. It almost made me throw up. But it is definitely burnt rubbery plastic, that's for sure. Few hours later, it's nowhere near as strong, but to me it kind of resembles ink? Still kinda gross but not as much as before. The throw is very good, I'll give it that. Not sure if this would be improved with layering, but if you want to wear something to gross out your friends this is a good perfume for that.

Red Mandarin, French Lavender & Juniper
fairybites replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
This was another free sniffie bottle I received from Ajevie, and I have to say this is nicer than I thought it would be! It's pretty clean and soapy, so if you don't like those types of scents I would avoid this. I think there's also a slight minty undertone to this as well, not sure what note could be causing this but my guess is the juniper. The lavender didn't really appear until it dried down but it blends in pretty well with the mandarin. While it's definitely soapy and herbal, it's got this sweetness to it as well which makes this a bit more wearable for me. -
Tomato Leaf, Black Pepper & Hay Absolute
fairybites replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
When I initially got this bottle as a sniffie a few months ago, all I could smell was the pepper and the tomato leaf. Now that I've picked up a decant, on the skin it's pretty different. It's a clean green scent from the tomato leaf with soft hay. Pepper stays in the background. Better than I thought it would be months ago when I got the bottle from Ajevie. Can't say I'll wear this often, but glad I finally got to try it! -
I didn't know what the notes were when I first applied it, and honestly it reminded me a little of unaged Snake Oil? I think it was the peppercorn and the musks, which are the strongest of the notes on me. No orange blossom sadly, but the sandalwood appeared during drydown. It's an alright clean scent with a little bit of pepper. Wish the orange blossom showed up, it was one of the more intriguing notes to me. It resembles incense a little bit too, so if you are into those kind of scents this may be up your alley!
-
Started out heavily steel and leather, but they faded almost instantly and the cedar note took over. I can't detect the other notes, this is mostly cedar with a brush of leather on me. It's okay! I'm not too crazy about woody notes but it's nice. Won't be upgrading, but I'm glad to try more of the 2020 Liliths!

This is definitely delicious cinnamon buns! I can't pick out much of the pumpkin spice though, just lots and lots of cinnamon. It's very sugary as well from the icing note. A little disappointing that I'm not getting the pumpkin spice, but I still enjoy this regardless. If you aren't a huge cinnamon fan, I would avoid this if your skin chemistry is like mine. The throw is pretty good on this as well! Don't think I'll upgrade to a bottle, but this was fun and sweet and I'm enjoying testing it out today.

This doesn't really smell like soup, it reminds me of a herbal clean scent. The sage, cream, and bell pepper were the main notes when I first applied it. I think the cucumber is making this resemble a clean scent to me. And I can't pick out any tomato, but there is definitely a leafy scent in here so I'm thinking it could be tomato leaf instead. Pumpkin didn't really show up on me. It's less foodie than I anticipated, but I can't see myself wearing this often. Glad I got to try it!

This started out smelling very boozy, but now it resembles hard candy to me. The green apple vodka note was definitely the strongest initially, it made me think of sour candy. But when it dried down, the butterscotch schnapps and cranberry come through. I can't pick out the cherry note at all, maybe with more age the vodka will soften and I can smell it more. I think the butterscotch gives this a sort of waxy note as well. It's like one of those Werther's Originals hard candies with a touch of green apple and cranberry. Like if the candy was unwrapped and mixed in with fruit hard candies. Won't upgrade since I have a bottle of Apple Spice Hard Candy and I prefer that to this, but this is still a nice blend! I just wish it was more boozy instead of candy.
